The Grand Final of the LoL World Championship 2018 is imminent. With two matches, the semi-final created facts that couldn't have been more clear. For two teams from the LCS, the dream of the World Championship is already dreamed out in the semi-finals, whereas for Fnatic (EU-LCS), the chase of trophy continues! The team showed its strong superiority with a “Triplewin” against Cloud9 and could stay on course despite several strategy changes on the side of Cloud9. Nevertheless, the guys from Cloud9 can be proud of themselves, as no team from NA-LCS has made it to the worlds semi-finals yet. G2 Esports also fought heroically, but surprisingly without a chance and lost three games in a row to Invictus Gaming. The LCS has finally found its way to the top of the world class in Season 8 and so it is now a European and Chinese team dueling in the final in front of nearly a million viewers worldwide. The final will take place in Incheon (3 million inhabitants), a suburb-city of Seoul. The issue remains embarrassing for Riot, who, with a huge organizational chaos in the run-up to the World Championships, have been unable to find a suitable venue for the final in the capital of Korea. Preview and Predictions – Its China against Europe
Grand Final: Invictus Gaming vs. Fnatic
Start Time: November 3, 01:00 AM PDT / 04:00 AM EDT / 10:00 CEST
Invictus Gaming encounters Fnatic. Cloud9 and G2 Esports already had to say goodbye in the semi-final. In any case, the tournament has now retained its international character in the final. So it's China vs. Europe for the upcoming matchday.
Invictus Gaming: IG-TheShy, Ning, Rookie, JackeyLove and Baolan have fulfilled their team dream and made it to the final, while Royal Never Give Up (eliminated in the quarter-finals) is probably already back home in China. IG remained recognizable to their motto and won their three games against G2 in the semi-finals in less than 30 minutes each. IG played all games with aggressive matchup to which G2 did not react properly. Especially IG-Rookie convinced with a particularly strong performance, who showed us a LeBlanc twice with a “Wink” to FNC-Caps (who performed best so far in the tournament on LeBlanc).
Fnatic: Fnatic also defeated Cloud9 in three consecutive games in the semifinals. Unlike G2, Fnatic could dominate in the midgame at the latest and did not leave C9 much room in the summoners rift. Fnatic also surprised us with a special pick – Rek´sai. FNC-Broxah dared to pick the champion, who probably no one thought of before. Rek´sai had its great hour immediately after a surprising Baron-Buff win for Cloud9 and a consecutive 3v5 (C9 even with baron buff) win for Fnatic.
Prognosis: For the upcoming game we will see exciting matches on the Midlane and also the IG-JackeyLove/Baolan vs. FNC-Rekkles/Hylissang Botlane will leave nothing to be desired. I think Fnatic has earned this World Champion title hard and will be unstoppable this year. I'm predicting a 1:3 victory for Fnatic.
