Group A: Team Vitality, Astralis, Evil Geniuses (EG) and Liquid were all competing for a place at the BLAST Premier Fall Finals. Team Vitality won the group defeating Astralis in the Grand Final, EG lost both their games and finally Team Liquid only won one game, and that was against EG. This means that both EG and Liquid will compete in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown on the 12th of October, and Vitality and Astralis can rest until the 24th of November before that BLAST Premier Fall Finals begins.

Group B: In Group B, G2, Ninjas in Pyjamas, BIG and MIBR were fighting for a place in the Fall Finals, and NiP was the team that went out of the group as the big winners. They defeated BIG in the Grand Final of the Fall Groups stage after beating the Germans by 2-1 in maps. G2 won their first game against MiBR but later lost their remaining matches, whilst MiBR lost all their games joining them to the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown.

Group C: World number 1 Natus Vincere was in the same group as Complexity (COL), OG and FaZe. NaVi went for a walk in the park undefeated, winning the group, putting FaZe second. COL on the other hand won their first round against FaZe, but lost against them in the lower bracket. OG had hard times and lost all their games. This put NaVi and Faze in the Premier Fall Finals, and COL and OG in the Showdown making it a very exciting tournament to bet on.

History of BLAST Premier

BLAST Premier is a relatively new professional esports league, having launched in 2020. It replaced the now defunct BLAST Pro Series and consists of two series: one in the Spring and one in the Fall (Autumn). The Spring event was played online because of COVID-19; however the Fall event will be offline and is expected to be a sellout at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen. It is owned by Danish esports behemoth RFRSH Entertainment.

The first ever BLAST Premier was hosted at 3 Mills Studio, London and had a prize pool of $300,000. This was the only live event, with the other ten events all being played online because of the COVID 19 pandemic.
