Even though Fortnite esports isn’t as popular as it once was, the newest updates (the removal of building) have made the game popular once again. This is bound to draw more attention to the competitive side of the deal, and we’re likely to see more action take place before the end of the year. Fortnite betting should see the light of day too, with bookmakers eagerly waiting for new opportunities to come their way.

Fortnite took the casual gaming industry by storm in 2018 with its game-changing “building” mechanic and playful animations.
The battle royale has seen success as an esports title, highlighted by the Fortnite World Cup which saw more than $30M in rewarded prizes and played an integral role in the recent push of gaming into mainstream culture. This article aims to provide an understanding of Fortnite and the limited ways to bet on the game.
As the title implies, we’re here to talk about online betting on Fortnite in 2024. We know for a fact there aren’t many events you can bet on. However, with positive trends surrounding Epic Games’ battle royale, we might see things change pretty soon.
Here’s a short step-by-step guide on how to start betting on Fortnite:
Online esports bookmakers support a wide variety of payment methods including the following:
Additionally, you might even find platforms that support betting with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. If you’re into that sort of stuff, there’s no room for worry because you will be able to find such platforms.
Although Fortnite is one of the most popular esports games, very few sites support Fortnite betting. The ones that do seem to only offer the ability to be live on Twitch streams and not on official competitive events. Here is an esports betting site that offers Fortnite betting in any form:
This betting site offers the ability to bet on streamers who have agreed to have their content on the site. The most recognizable of these streamers is Loeya, who has been a Fortnite content creator since very early in the game’s lifespan.
Fingers crossed the new Fortnite update bring even more action into the Fortnite betting sphere. The game’s had another massive explosion and knowing the reaction times of esports betting sites, we’re likely to see betting coverage pop up sooner rather than later.
Esports – Surprisingly, not many betting sites offer consistent betting on Fortnite events. A few sites offered lines for the World Cup, but we have yet to find a site that supports betting on the current slew of competitive Fortnite events.
Twitch Betting – What is currently offered is the possibility of live esports betting on streamers who are playing the game. This can be done on multiple gambling sites, which will be covered in the next section of the article.
It alludes that there is a lot of opportunity for gambling sites to add Fortnite to their slew of offerings, but none have taken the necessary steps to add the title to their site.
This is surprising to say the least. Fortnite is one of the most popular esports titles and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, as clearly indicated by the more than 3 million fans who tuned in live on Twitch to view the Galactic Event earlier this week.
However, one thing is for sure: Fortnite gambling although not that common yet is coming and eventually will become big, rivaling CSGO or LoL betting.
What sort of Fortnite bets exist?
Well, you’ll be surprised that the most popular Fortnite betting markets are vastly different than those for conventional esports titles like League of Legends, Dota 2, and CSGO.
That’s because Fortnite is a battle royale; it’s a game that doesn’t have just two teams playing against each other. The game of Fortnite is much bigger in scale, and its gameplay is vastly different to any of the above-mentioned esports.
That said, the most popular Fortnite bet is the match-winner. Nothing surprising here, this bet is available across the board. The same goes for outright event winner, too.
However, the following bets aren’t available across the board:
Unfortunately, there aren’t that many third-party Fortnite tournaments out there. However, Fortnite Champion Series is still up and running. That’s where all the fun is at; that’s the series you can still bet on… but only during the Finals.
As for the biggest Fortnite tournaments of all time, here’s the list:
Fortnite is much more than just a game! It is a lucrative business with lots of money to be made by everyone involved.
According to Esports Earnings, here are the ten biggest Fortnite teams in terms of money earned:
Fortnite betting seems to be lagging behind other esports titles – why might this be? I assume three main factors inhibit bookmakers from including the title in their list of offerings.
First, as a battle royale, Fortnite naturally includes more luck than other titles, alluding that bookmakers may not feel comfortable offering consistent lines.
Second, the list of registered players for Fortnite events are not always publicly available. Often, events are open to players of a certain caliber, but no determined list of players is ever present for bookmakers to aggregate and provide lines to be bet on.
Third, Fortnite is exceptionally prone to cheating as a BR game. This has been shown all throughout the game’s history, with even top player FaZe Dubs cheating in a Daily Cash Cup.
I believe the current landscape of Fortnite betting will change. Fortnite is an incredibly popular title and should continue to grow as an esport. As more structure is introduced to the competitive scene, more bookmakers should be able to add the title to their sites. For now, your best, and only option is to use one of the aforementioned sites that offer Fortnite betting on Twitch streams.
Note that you can play Fortnite using cloud game streaming platforms such as Vortex.gg.
Fortnite isn’t too complicated to play. But, behind the wacky, cartoony graphics is actually a marvelous and complex gameplay mechanism that draws players in and keeps them hooked.
Now that the building mechanics have been removed, gameplay is all about finding natural cover and using it to your advantage. Of course, we can’t forget about the aim – you won’t survive long if you can’t hit heads consistently enough.
What’s the goal in Fortnite? Well, the goal is identical to all other battle royale games out there – you have to be the last man/team standing. It sounds simple enough in theory, but in practice – it’s far from it.
Fortnite may have gained traction as a fun game to play with friends, but the title has also thrived as an esport.
Epic held the “Fortnite World Cup” in July 2019 in the heart of New York City. The event featured $30M in player prizes, including a whopping $3M to the winners of the Solo and Duo Cups. Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf won the Solo event, becoming an overnight sensation. He appeared on many of the major talk shows in America and saw his social channels explode following the event. He now has 4.7M followers on Twitter and his own gaming accessories line at Five Below.
Since the Fortnite World Cup, the game has continued to be a successful esport. Epic followed up on the World Cup by announcing the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) and has since progressed to hosting almost daily esports tournaments. In fact, their Chapter 3 Season 2 FNCS Season will be kicking off on the 2nd of May.

Epic is not the only organisation hosting Fortnite events, as DreamHack recently announced the DreamHack Fortnite Open, featuring monthly competitions for $250,000 in prizes each month.
Most Fortnite events are scored by the following method. Players receive points for both eliminations and for survival (placement points). This format provides incentive to both play for eliminations as well as to win. Tournaments can be played in teams of one, two, three, or four with the total player count always being capped at 100. Solos and duos are the most common.
As a battle royale, the last player standing wins. You can win a game of Fortnite without getting a kill, hence why players are rewarded for both eliminations and surviving. Here is a video of a player winning a World Cup qualifying match without using weapons!

You can bet real money on Fortnite on various online betting websites like Pinnacle, Betway, and similar. However, since Fortnite is not exactly the most popular esports betting title, you won’t find lots of available bets.
They are only available during the biggest Fortnite events, and as time goes on, we’re seeing lower and lower numbers of them. Things might change in the foreseeable future, though.
There’s no way to simply sign up for Fortnite esports. If you want to be a part of the game’s esports ecosystem, the number one requirement is that you’re actually good at the game. You don’t have to be the most mechanically-skilled player out there, but you do need to be well above average in both building and shooting mechanics to land a spot in a team. There are lots of open qualifiers for smaller tournaments out there and these can serve as jumping boards for bigger, more lucrative campaigns.
Lots of professional esports teams participate in Fortnite. Some of the most notable ones are as follows:
We have one word for you – exposure! To join a professional esports team in Fortnite, you don’t just need to be an exceptional player, you’ll also need a tremendous amount of exposure too. The fact you’re great at the game won’t mean much if the folks who are looking for talents can’t see you do your thing.
That said, you’ll have to put in a ton of hours into your streaming. That’s the only proven way of getting into the professional scene. It won’t be easy; it’s a cumbersome and rather time-consuming process, but one that will pay off exponentially if you ever do get among the pros.
It’s difficult to say, really. The amount solely depends on your ability to predict match/event outcomes and your willingness to invest real money into online betting on Fortnite. There’s no one size fits all kind of an answer here, so let’s just leave it at that.
