How to do RLCS World Championship Match Betting?

For those of you who have absolutely no experience with betting on Rocket League or other esports, here’s what the process of placing online bets looks like:

  • First up, you’ll need to set up an account at an online esports betting site. There are a whole lot of options out there so take your time and choose a good one.
  • The process won’t take too long, but you will have to use your real data (name, address, etc) as you will have to confirm your identity later on (or even during the registration process, on some platforms).
  • After registering, you’ll have to deposit some money into your betting account. The initial deposit is often connected to the registration process. Some bookies won’t even let you register without depositing some funds.
  • If you don’t have an online payment method set up yet, now is the time to do so. Head on over to our online payment methods guide for more information on how to set everything up.
  • After depositing some funds into your betting bankroll, it’s time to place your bets. First task – head on over to the esports category and locate Rocket League betting options.
  • Now that you’ve found RLCS betting odds, choose the matches/bets you’re interested in and select your picks.
  • One last thing is needed to wrap the deal up – stake. Enter the stake (amount of money you’d like to bet) and confirm your bet.
  • That’s all you need to do to start placing RLCS bets!

Betting on Rocket League is legal, don’t worry, but only if you’re using licensed bookmakers. If you’re looking for such sites, make sure you give our favorites a go.

Outright Winner Odds for RLCS WC Betting

As mentioned earlier, outright winner betting on Rocket League World Championship is already available. The odds are as follows:

TEAM RLCS WC ODDS
MOIST ESPORTS +300
NRG +500
G2 +600
FALCONS +600
Faze Clan +600
BDS +900
Endpoint +1100
FURIA +1100
VERSION1 +1400
SPACESTATION +1400

These are the top ten teams that will be competing in this year’s RLCS World Championship. Five of them can be considered the top favorites. I’m mainly referring to Moist, NRG, G2, Falcons, and Faze Clan. One of them is bound to win this year’s iteration. More on the favourites later on.

Tips for RLCS Betting

If you still don’t feel ready to place RLCS bets, here are three tips to help you hit the ground running:

Learn the Basics

Believe it or not, there are still people who’ve never placed an online bet in their life. If you’re among them, worry not because it’s not nuclear science. The biggest mistake most people do is invest a large sum of money without really knowing how things work in the online esports betting sphere.

Don’t make that mistake. That’ll just leave you with a hefty dent in your wallet and a blank experience from which you didn’t really learn anything valuable.

You should do things the proper way. You should learn about the basics of betting. You should learn about how bonuses work, what’s the best time to place bets, and how to get the most value out of the available betting markets and utilizing betting strategies.

This won’t be an overnight thing, but with perseverance, we’re sure you’ll see improvements!

Recent Results

Obviously, recent results paint a proper picture of every RLCS team. Form is one of the most important aspects of the game, with one dominating performance pulling others to its side. One poor display and your tempo will fall off and you’ll risk others catching up to you.

That’s the story of RLCS teams – even though games aren’t won on paper, the paper trail will tell you a lot about the complexity of each match. So, if you’re serious about your RLCS betting habits, you need to stay on top of recent results… If not for the entire league, then at least for the region/teams you’re most interested in.

Paying Attention to Roster Alterations

Roster alterations in Rocket League tend to drastically skew the image of a team. By image, we’re not talking about their reputation but their roster composition. Rocket League is a 3v3 game and if one piece of the puzzle resigns, others will feel… incomplete.

If you want to be a successful Rocket League betting enthusiast, you need to stay on top of everything that’s going on in the scene. Yes, staying up to speed on the recent results is important… but so is staying on top of transfers and RLCS news in general. That’s what tends to separate winners from losers in this hobby.

History of Rocket League World Championships

If you’d like to bet on Rocket League World Championship, you need to know more about its history. Year in and year out, it’s one of the game’s most prestigious events, with players dreaming of winning the lucrative title. Sure, it wasn’t typically called World Championship but simply Finals, but the gist has remained the same.

It’s charming, it’s lucrative… and my oh my is it a real fly trap for esports betting enthusiasts. Rocket League betting isn’t as popular as other esport titles. But during the RLCS WC there’s always an extra pop to the quantity (and quality) of available betting options.

Here’s what you need to know when it comes to past iterations of RLCS World Championship events:

Event Location Winner Prize Pool Dates
Season 1 Finals Los Angeles iBUYPOWER Cosmic $55,000 Apr – Aug 2016
Season 2 Finals Amsterdam FlipsideTactics $125,000 Oct – Dec 2016
Season 3 Finals Los Angeles Northern Gaming $150,000 Apr – June 2017
Season 4 Finals Washington D.C. Gale Force eSports $150,000 Sept – Nov 2017
Season 5 Finals London Dignitas $250,000 Mar – Jun 2018
Season 6 Finals Las Vegas Cloud9 $500,000 Sept – Nov 2018
Season 7 Finals Newark Renault Vitality $529,500 Apr – Jun 2019
Season 8 Finals Madrid NRG Esports $529,500 Oct – Dec 2019
2022 WC Fort Worth TBD $2,085,000 August 2022

Season 9 and X didn’t have their equivalent of Finals. That’s probably why the folks over at Psyonix and Epic Games decided to give the first post-break tournament a brand-new name, World Championship.

This year’s iteration will be held in Forth Worth at the dickies Arena. It’s set to feature over $2 million in prize money which is the biggest prize pool yet.

Where to Watch RLCS WC?

You can watch Rocket League esports action live on their Twitch channel. If you’re a hardcore RL esports fan, what are you waiting for, that channel has a ton of content just waiting for you.

RLCS WC 2022 Favorites to Win

Moist Esports

Moist Esports are the rightful favorites coming into the Fort Worth spectacle. They’re coming into this one as the crowned champion of Spring RLCS season. Rise, vatira and joyo are enjoying themselves out there. They’ve had a brilliant season and will be definitely fancying their chances at winning the $600,000 grand prize next month.

But, there will be lots of challengers and, despite being touted as the favorites, Moist will have a lot of work on their hands. Version1 gave Moist a proper scare on the Spring Major, suggesting we might be in for another spectacular lower bracket run in Fort Worth.

G2 Esports

G2 Esports is a staple name in the esports community nowadays and they’ve been absolutely incredible in this year’s tournaments. However, G2 wasn’t always as good as they are today but as soon as Atomic joined the team in January 2022 the squad has looked extremely strong.

G2 did show us some moments of brilliance in the past and the team has managed to win three RLCS titles (RLCS Season 5 North America, RLCS Season 9 North America, and the latest – the RLCS 2021-22 Winter Split Major).

Due to their most recent successes, it’s safe to say that they’re one of the favourites to win, if not the favourites. If they can continue this tremendous form, there’s no doubt they’ll at least reach the Grand Finals of the Spring Split Major.

Team BDS

Team BDS has kept ⅔ of the same roster since its inception, with M0nkey M00n and MaRc_By_8 (who is more of a substitute nowadays) currently employed by the team. However, the full active roster of M0nkey M00n, Extra, and Seikoo is rather new (with Seikoo joining in late April 2022).

Nonetheless, they’ve achieved a lot in the past but their performance in the RLCS 2021-22 Winter Split Major wasn’t as satisfactory as they’d hoped (7th-8th place finish). With that said, Team BDS has won a couple of RLCS tournaments and they’re still a force to be reckoned with.

They’ve won the RLCS Season X – Fall: EU Major, RLCS Season X – Winter: EU Major, RLCS Season X – Spring: EU Major, and the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Split Major. Also, they achieved an impressive 2nd place finish in the RLCS Season X European Championship.

FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan is another staple name in the esports industry but they’ve been involved in Rocket League esports for just two years. 2021 was their first competitive year and it wasn’t a great one. The only results of note are their win in the NA Regional Event 3 and a 3rd place in the RLCS 2021-22 Fall Split Major.

2022 isn’t much better but the team climbed the rankings on merit and performance and they’re currently the 3rd best team in the world. They’ve consistently finished in high positions but never managed to win any of the biggest RLCS events. With that said, many see them as one of the favourites who have the potential to reach the Semi-Finals (at least).

Sypical is the newest addition to the roster (joined the team in January 2022) whereas Firstkiller and AYYJAYY have been around for relatively long.

Esports Betting Pro: Our Verdict

Even though the Rocket League esports scene isn’t that popular as other esport titles like CS:GO, League of Legends and Dota 2, it still has a lively pro scene with tons of competition and exciting events.

Rocket League betting opportunities are everywhere. Most reputable bookmakers support Rocket League bets as well as a wide array of payment methods, so if you’re interested in esports betting, giving Rocket League esports a go is a no-brainer.

It’s difficult to say, really. There are several top-tier teams set to perform on this competition.
