The Apex Legends Esports Scene
At the end of 2019, Respawn and EA announced a revamp to their esports program with the introduction of the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) in 2020. CEO of Respawn, Vince Zampella, stated that they “expect that esports will play a big role in the future of Apex Legends and it all starts here, with the Apex Legends Global Series. We look forward to seeing who, out of our millions of players, will become true legends of the arena.”
It is clear that the developers believe esports will play a significant role in the game’s expansion, and this has piqued the interest of many bookmakers who had not previously offered bets on Apex Legends.
In 2021, the Apex Legends Global Series will continue its two-year circuit. The event will run all year long, giving dozens of the top players the chance to demonstrate their excellence and compete for a total prize pool of $3,000,000.
Let’s take a closer look at how the Apex Legends esports events scheduled for this year will play out.
Online Tournament Qualifiers
There are several events running throughout 2021 until the Apex Legends Global Series Championship. The Online Tournament live events are the first and longest stretch, having been running since 2020 and set to continue for the first portion of this year. You can watch the action take place on Twitch and Youtube.
The Online Tournament includes qualifiers for the Premier and Major events, which will lead the successful teams to the final major, the Apex Legends Global Series Championship. Online Tournament #4 of the Winter Circuit, the last of these types of events for this circuit, will take place on March 7th, with the Last Chance Qualifiers running on March 21st and the Playoffs on March 27th and 28th. Teams competing in these online tournaments earn ALGS Points based on their performances and the top eight teams will qualify for the event’s major.
The event is formatted by region, with teams competing from North America, EMEA (Middle East, Africa, and Europe), APAC South (Greater Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand), APAC North (Japan and Korea), China, and South America. Each team must meet the requirements, which state that each team has to be made up of three players, who in turn must be registered for every online tournament with one team.
The current rankings for the Online Tournament are as follows, respective to the top 15 teams: EXO Clan, SCARZ White, Aura Esports, Made in Thailand 1, Hallediciler, INTZ, TSM, Kebabrulla, Korean Rushers, Nora-Rengo, _4K, Made in Thailand 2, 2nd, CPTL eSports, Sniper Abusers, and BDS Esports.
The Premier events are the second stage of the Apex Legends Global Series. These events will feature the top teams from online tournaments, with the top performing teams qualifying for either one of the Majors or Championship.
Premier’s #1 – #4 will allow teams to qualify to the Majors, with Premier’s #5 -#8 giving the best teams the chance to compete in the Championship. There are 20 slots per Premier available for teams to qualify to the Major, and 8 slots per Premier to qualify for the Championship.
Majors are the apex of the ALGS ecosystem and include teams that have qualified from online tournaments, Premier events, or a previous ALGS Major.
The first three majors will allow up to 100 teams to compete for a prize pool of $500,000 and earn Global Series Points. Successful top teams will qualify for the fourth major, the Apex Legends Global Series Championship, the last tournament in the circuit.
Apex Legends Global Series Championship
The Apex Legends Global Series Championship is the fourth and final Major where 60 teams will compete for a prize of $1,000,000. This event accepts teams that have qualified for the championship through their performances throughout the season, and will be held after the Apex Legends Global Series Winter Circuit has been completed.

Types of Apex Legends Bets
Even though bookmakers do not offer as many esports betting markets for Apex Legends as for other esports titles, it does not mean that there isn't a variety to still choose from, depending on your experience and preferences. Bookmakers are taking the Apex Legends esports scene more seriously than ever, and are continuously upgrading the betting markets available on their sites.
Let us take a look at the most common Apex Legends betting markets and everything you need to know about wagering on them.
This is one of the most basic betting markets out there, and is perfect for beginners to esports betting in general. This bet requires you to place a wager on the team you think will be the overall winner of the Apex Legends Global Series.
By doing your due diligence and researching the various teams competing, their performance throughout online tournaments and premiers, and their previous performances in other Apex Legends events, you'll be able to make an educated guess on the team that will end up victorious.
There are various types of outright/future bets that you can place in esports betting, which are usually available before the tournament starts. These betting options include, but are not limited to: Tournament Winner, Regional Winner, and Tournament Finalist. Tournament Winner and Tournament Finalist options involve you to picking a team to either win the entire tournament or be a finalist. For regional winner betting markets, you must predict which region the winning team hails from (for Apex Legends Global Series, this could be a team from North America, South America, APAC North, APAC South, EMEA, or China).
Because you do not have to consider anything else other than who you believe will take the crown, this is a very simple and straightfoward betting option.
You might be asking yourself, “How can I predict the winner if there are tons of new teams I’ve never heard of?” Well, consider this: there may be teams that have little to no information about them available, and do not even have previous experience in the esports scene; however, there are loads of very well-known teams competing too. These internationally known teams have competed in similar game genres and tournaments, and are renowned as the best esports organisations in the world.
This means that there is a chance that they will perform extremely well in the new esports scene they have entered, and will create a roster of carefully selected players to represent them in this new venture. Looking at the current standings, that seems to be the case for Apex Legends too, as five well-known teams in the top 15 rankings and the online tournaments for the Winter Circuit have just started. Even if there are teams that you have never heard of before, most pro players stream their performances live, allowing you to watch them to see their playstyles, their skill level, and how they play with the rest of their squad.
If you feel there is just too much competition and too many unknown faces for you to make an educated guess on this betting market, worry not; there are other plenty of other betting markets available.
Moneyline betting markets are another simple and popular wager option in esports betting. To accurately predict the outcome, you would need a basic understanding of Apex Legends and what is required to win a single match.
To get in with a chance of placing a successful bet, you will only need to consider the two teams in a matchup and predict who you think will take the win that series. Bookmakers clearly display the favourites and the underdogs in the form of odds, so you will be able to gauge which team is generally perceived as the stronger one.
By checking to see if these teams have competed against each other before, you can figure out which team tends to dominate and the strategies they employ – if any – to win. Along with this, the teams’ strengths and weaknesses, as well as their current form, will help you greatly in making solid predictions and bet accordingly. Be sure to check the global standings and try to live stream matches as much as possible.
This market is another great option for beginners, as you can focus on a few specific teams and really learn their play styles, strengths, and weaknesses, assisting you greatly in being able to predict the outcome of a match. As you won't need to do a ton of research on all the teams, you can pick a few and really get to know the players individually, and how they synergise as a team. This can help you out when dealing with more complex betting markets as you gain more experience and gain confidence in esports betting,
Handicap betting markets, also commonly referred to as spreads, provide more precise wagers for those looking to bet on the underdog. You will need a solid understanding of Apex Legends to accurately predict the outcome of this wager, so it is an ideal option for those who have had some experience in esports betting.
Although this market considered high-risk, handicap bets can results in rich rewards. What they do is “take away” from the favourite, allowing you to “give” those points to the underdog. You place your bets according to how many games you think a team will win in a series, rather than merely which team will win the match. Because you are “taking away” points away from the favourite and “giving” them to the underdog, the underdog will need to at least win one game in the series for your wager to be successful.
For example, if the tournament has a ‘Best of 3 Maps' format, you may see a betting option that has a -0.5 or +0.5 number assigned to both teams. The minus sign (-) indicates that the team is the favourite, while the plus sign (+) demonstrates that the team is the underdog, meaning that you can assign a higher odd to the underdog and receive a bigger payout if they win. There are many other ways this wager can be presented, each differing depending on how the game itself functions and the structure of the esports tournament.
This betting market is a solid option for you if you have a deep understanding of how Apex Legends is played, as well as the different scenarios that can occur. You will be able to win your bet even if the team you have wagered on loses the entire series against the opposing team.
Specials, also known as prop bets, are complex betting markets for super experienced punters who want to spice things up and take a shot at winning big by predicting different outcomes of the match rather than focusing on who will win it.
This is an extremely high risk betting option as you will need to consider specific scenarios in a game that can not be easily predicted. For Apex Legends, the specials wagers on offer are typically the most kills and longest kills options. Most kills will require you to predict which team will have the most kills by the end of the match, whereas longest kill gives you the chance to bet on the longest kill being over or under a certain amount.
Although this betting market is not especially common amongst bookmakers, if you do come across it and believe you have enough knowledge and confidence to place a wager then this can be very exciting and rewarding.
Betting on Streamers
There is also an option available with some bookmakers to bet on streamers to win or lose the match. This type of betting market is very intricate and requires a lot of specialised knowledge of Apex Legends. Because you are not betting on a specific team, but rather individual players, you will need to be very experienced and knowledgeable of the Apex esports scene to be able to accurately predict how one player’s performance will go.
Apex Legends Odds
To bet on Apex Legends, you will need to read the Apex Legends odds presented for your chosen betting market and place a wager accordingly. Similarly to traditional sports betting, esports betting odds can be presented in one of three ways. Depending on where the bookmaker is licensed to operate, you will either see fractional, decimal, or moneyline odds.
It is essential that you know how to read each way that odds can be presented in order to maximise your winnings with different bookmakers. We will take you through each one with examples and calculations that you can use later on.
Fractional odds are the most common odds displayed at bookmakers operating under UK licences.
These odds can be read in two ways, so use whichever way makes more sense to you. If the number on the left is bigger than the one on the right, the bookmaker believes that the team is the underdog (meaning they have a lower chance of winning). On the other hand, if the number on the right is bigger than the one on the left, this team is considered the favourite.
Let’s take an example of match during an Apex Legends Global Series event. The teams competing are TSM and Sniper Abusers in the North America region, who are both ranked in the top 15 on the Global Standings.
Apex Legends Odds: 3/8 – TSM to win against Sniper Abusers
This fractional odds above show that TSM are the clear favourites and Sniper Abusers are the underdogs. This is because the number on the left is smaller than the one on the right, demonstrating that TSM has a 72.7% likelihood of winning this series. We calculated the likelihood of TSM winning by taking the fractional odds and converting into a percentage. First, we converted the fractional odds into decimals:
(3 ÷ 8) +1 = 1.375
We then divided the above result by the figure of 1, and multiplied the ensuing total by 100:
(1 ÷ 1.375) x 100 = 72.7%
The probability having been calculated, you can then decide if you wish to place your wager. With the above example, the payout will not be significant as the odds are already in favour of TSM.
Below is how different Apex Legends odds translate into payouts:
3/8 – For every £8 you wager, you win £3
5/10 – For each £5 you wager, you will win £10
25/10 – For each £10 you wager, you will win £25
50/15 – For each £15 you wager, you win £50
If you put a £20 wager on each of the odds above, you can see that the odds of 3/8 give you the lowest payout, as you will only receive a total profit of £7.50 profit. However, if you placed a wager on the odds of 5/10, 25/10, and 50/15, you would receive a total of £40, £50, and £66.66 in profit respectively. The bookmaker usually has a good understanding of which team is the favourite and the underdog, so it makes it trickier to win by betting on the latter.
Decimal odds are easier to read, and are often considered simpler to work with. To calculate probability with decimal odds, all you need to do is divide 100 by the value of the odds themselves. Below are a few examples:
100 ÷ 5.2 = 19.2%
100 ÷ 3.45 = 29%
100 ÷ 2.4 = 41.7%
100 ÷ 1.6 = 62.5%
After calculating the probability of your wager, you can work out your potential winnings by multiplying your wager by the odds.
Let’s take a look at how much you would win by betting on Sniper Abusers (the underdogs) if the odds were 3.45:
If you placed a £5 wager: £5 x 3.45 = £17.25
If you placed a £15 wager: £15 x 3.45 = £51.75
If you placed a £25 wager: £25 x 3.45 = £86.25
If you placed a £50 wager: £50 x 3.45 = £172.5
Again, remember these calculations combine your stake and winnings, so subtract your original stake amount from the total to calculate how much profit you would receive.
Moneyline odds are used by on bookmakers licensed to operate in the United States. Although these types of odds are not as common in other regions, you might still stumble across them, so it's best to be familiar with them anyway.
The likelihood of the team you want to bet on winning is shown by the symbol attached to the number next to your wager. The minus sign (-) shows that the team you want to bet on is the favourite, while the plus sign (+) indicates an underdog.
These signs also demonstrate either your wager amount or payout. The plus sign shows that if you were to bet $100 on a team, you will win x amount (the number stated next to the sign) and the minus sign demonstrates how much you need to bet to receive $100 in profit.
Using our example of TSM and Sniper Abusers, below is how moneyline odds appear, and how to work them out:
TSM – 150
Sniper Abusers +200
As you can see, TSM has a minus sign and Sniper Abusers has a plus sign, indicating the odds at play here. TSM is the favourite and Sniper Abusers is the underdog, so you will need to wager $150 dollars to net a profit of $100 for TSM; you will receive $200 in winnings for every $100 you wager on Sniper Abusers.
Other examples of moneyline odds include:
TSM – 130
Sniper Abusers +250
You will need to bet $130 on TSM to get a payout of $100. You will receive $250 for each $100 you place on a Sniper Abusers wager.
TSM – 100
Sniper Abusers +175
You will need to bet $100 on TSM to get a payout of $100, and you will receive $175 for each $100 you place on a Sniper Abusers wager.
Below is a formula for calculating moneyline odds:
Positive moneyline odds: Stake x (Odds ÷ 100) = Your winnings
Negative moneyline odds: Stake ÷ (Odds ÷ 100) = Your winnings
Once you get the hang of reading moneyline odds, they are pretty simple to understand. Make sure you pay significant attention to the number and the signs attached in order to correctly calculate your predicted winnings.
Our Top Apex Legends Betting Tips
The Apex Legends Global Series is a lengthy and complex tournament, so it is really important to know how to research the Apex esports scene to place the best Apex Legends bets possible. We have compiled a list of our top tips below to help you out!
Become Familiar With the Apex Esports Scene
Because of the length of each series and the sheer amount of teams participating, it's easy to get overwhelmed if you go into Apex betting with no prior research.
To start off with, the most useful and least time-consuming resource would be Liquipedia, which is great for staying informed on how the series is going, the standings, and the teams that are participating.
The standings give you a good picture on which teams are currently doing well in the series. From there, you should go on to watch streams of these teams' performances on Apex Legends’ ALGS Youtube channel, and gauge each pro’s play style, strengths, and weaknesses. Diving into the statistics of the Apex Legends Global Series headfirst will aid you greatly in learning all about the esport, and give you an added layer of insight into how upcoming matches will play out.
Follow Apex Legends Twitch Streamers and Pros
Apex Legends has a large viewership on Twitch, and that is because so many people enjoy watching others play the game. Many of the top streamers themselves are also pros, so you really get to see the best of the best and learn from them at the same time.
Watching pro players on Twitch will help you get used to learning the game’s intricacies while observing different play styles, strengths, and weaknesses. This could also come in useful when predicting whether to bet for or against a specific team, as you will be able to distinguish how they usually perform against certain opponents.
Understand the Game and Meta
Apex Legends is a very unique first-person shooter; not only is it a battle royale, but you also have to select a Legend with set abilities, which in turn complicates the game quite a bit. The developers also keep on top of things by releasing updates, drastically changing the way Legends are played and consequently affecting the meta. Because of these intricacies, you must understand what each Legend can do and the way that they can be played.
The most powerful Legends in Apex Legends right now are Wraith, Pathfinder, Lifeline, and Bloodhound. That being said, be aware that the meta shifts according to any updates made, so it is best to stay up-to-date with what is going on. Keeping an eye on patch notes on Apex Legends News will also give you a big boost, as they can help you understand which Legends are more viable and which ones are more situational. Although pro players are very skilled at playing with the Legends they've chosen, they do commonly refer to the meta and adjust their play styles accordingly.
Youtube channels such as The Gaming Merchant and Simply Ashton also do a great job at explaining how to play Legends, along with the best Legends based on the updates and general tips and tricks. Being able to distinguish what is going on at a deeper level, not just as a casual player or viewer, will enhance your precision in predicting match outcomes and placing maximised wagers.
Keep Up With Apex Legends Esports Subreddits
If you're looking for more nitty-gritty discussions, however, then r/CompetitiveLegends is the place for you. This subreddit is purely dedicated to posting post-match threads, competitive tactics, and analysis of the meta.
Bet According to Your Experience
You would not bet on a sport that you know nothing about, so you certainly should not do that with Apex Legends.
Starting off with outrights/futures and moneyline markets will give you a sense of what it feels like to bet on the esport with minimal risk. The more you bet on these safer markets, and the more games you watch, the more you will develop your understanding. Once you feel confident enough, you can start placing more complex bets, such as handicaps and specials.
Taking it easy and knowing what your limits are at the start will keep you level-headed without compromising on enjoyment and potential winnings.
Play Apex Legends Yourself
Apex Legends is free to play and is available on console and PC, making it accessible to pretty much anyone. All you need to do is make an account, queue up for a go and skydive off the aircraft into Kings Canyon.
Even if you only end up playing a couple of games in your Apex Legends career, it will still help you out tremendously. Although it will be nowhere near the pace and competitiveness of a pro game, you will have a wider and more hands-on understanding of the rules and different play styles.
How to Choose the Best Apex Legends Betting Site
Now that we have taken you through everything you need to know about the Apex Legends Global Series, as well as the different betting markets on offer, how to read Apex Legends odds, and our top betting tips, let us take a look below at what you should consider before choosing a betting site.
Firstly, make sure you check that the betting site you have your eye on is licensed properly. You can find this information on the home page of the bookmaker’s website – if you cannot find it, that is a fair indicator that they are not legit.
It is imperative that the reviews you are searching for are from an external source to avoid bias. Moreover, be aware of any repetitive or overly positive reviews, as these could be fake, bought by operators to boost their online ratings. If there are multiple negative comments made about the site, however, then that is a clear warning.
Although simple errors are easy to make, they can cost you in Apex Legends betting. It is very important to find Apex Legends odds that are competitive so that you get the most value from your head-earned money.
A good way to do this is by checking several betting sites that are offering markets for Apex Legends, and then comparing the odds on offer with each other. If there is a clear discrepancy for particular odds – such as the odds being too high or too low – then this is a big red flag. Some bookmakers do offer very favourable odds to incentivise people to join their site, which is perfectly fine; however, if they seem to good to be true, that's because they probably are. On the other hand, betting sites that offer much lower odds than their competitors are also cause for concern, so you would do well to stay clear.
Ultimately, though, odds are bound to differ by a small margin across different sites. You can always use the information above to calculate different odds (fractional, decimal, and moneyline) in order to work out the best option.
Promotions and Bonuses
Welcome bonuses are given to new customers after they create an account at a betting site. The better the bonus, the better your first bet will be! These bonuses are great for those who a new to Apex Legends betting, as they'll be able to try out a few Apex Legends bets without risking too much. Meanwhile, promotions are bonuses you can add to your bets that can help boost your wager and maximise your winnings overall.
Note that these promotions and welcome bonuses do have terms and conditions, so make sure you have a read through them to know if there's anything required from you before placing any Apex Legends bets and withdrawing your winnings.
After you've checked that the betting site you've selected is legit, go forth and claim those promotions! Check out our detailed article on esports betting bonusesfor more.
Live Streaming and Customer Support
Live streaming and customer support both reflect the dedication a bookmaker has to ensuring you have the best experience possible.
Betting sites that offer live streaming services give you the opportunity to watch the esports event right from the site, without having to click back and forth between tabs to coordinate your wagers with what is going on in the tournament. Do not worry too much if your chosen betting site does not offer this service, though, as you can watch every Apex Legends Global Series event on Twitch and Youtube.
When it comes to customer support, many bookies these service via live chat, email, and even social media, so have a look around the site to find out if it does.
A betting site that offers multiple ways of depositing and withdrawing funds gives you control over how you spend your money. In fact, accommodating a variety of payment options speaks volumes about any bookmaker.
What is Apex Legends?
Apex Legends is that this game is a free-to-play, first-person shooter battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment. It was released on February 4th in 2019, and over the course of 15 days, it attracted over 25 millions unique users.
Available on 3 different platforms – Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – Apex Legends is also considered to be the only game that can overcome the bar set by Fortnite.
Although it has been hailed as an up-and-coming esports title that has taken the entire scene by storm, there is still a lot more work to be done – hopefully, sooner rather than later.
How to Play Apex Legends
At the moment, the only way you can play Apex Legends is in a team of 3, although this is likely to change in the near future. However, the current map supports only 60 players, which differs from the other battle royale games such as Fortnite and PUBG that are based on 100 players.
Its characters also make Apex Legends a unique battle royale game compared to others. Everyone from your team has to select one character to play with before the game starts from a variety of classes, which are Offense, Defense, Support and Recon.
Once you have jumped out of the spaceship, you definitely want to tag along with your squad. After you have landed at your destination, you should immediately look for a weapon. You can also ping certain attachments, ammo, weapon and armor to your teammates using the middle mouse button. After you are all set and packed with your gear, you'll want to make your way to the circle where you will battle it out against other squads for the “Champions” status.
If you are a fan of other battle royale games, then you probably know howthe “colour” system works. We can split this into 4 different types, sorted by power. Taking armour as an example, you'll be able to find GREY armour, BLUE armour, PURPLE armour and an extra rare GOLD armour. The same goes for every attachment on the field.
Body Shields and Med Kits
This is standard addition to the game, comonly found in other battle royale titles. However, this one is a bit different, since there are a lot of different methods of healing yourself. For instance, if you read our Lifeline character review further down below, you'll find that her ability is to heal.
Furthermore, you can find different consumables that can have a great effect on your Ultimate Ability. For instance, if you use Ultimate Accelerant, you will instantly get 20% of your Ultimate Ability. Below is a list of all the shields and healing items, along with their use time:
- Syringe – Restores 25 HP – 5 seconds
- Med Kit – Restores 100 HP – 8 seconds
- Shield Cell – Restores 25 Shield – 3 seconds
- Shield Battery – Restores 100 Shield – 5 seconds
- Phoenix Kit – Restores 100 HP & Restores 100 Shield – 10 seconds
- Ultimate Accelerant – Restores 20% of the Ultimate Ability – 7 seconds
APEX LEGENDS WEAPONS
Even though weapons in Apex Legends are not sorted by grade or colour, there are still some which are stronger, and overall, better. Below, we have listed all Apex Legends weapons alongside their strengths and weakness.
- Wingman – Definitely the best pistol in the game. It causes a lot of damage and has high accuracy but only 6 rounds in a clip.
- M600 Spitfire – Even though there are only two LMGs in the game at the moment, this one is definitely the best one. Although it causes great damage and is highly accurate, it has a very long reload time.
- Mastiff Shotgun – This is the ultimate legendary weapon, allowing you to wipe squads out in no time. However, it cannot be reloaded, and it only holsters a couple of bullets.
- Peacekeeper – After the Mastiff, this is definitely the best shotgun in the game, with great range and damage. However, given the fact that this is a pump shotgun, it has a low rate of fire.
- Kraber .50 Cal – Another legendary weapon which definitely has the highest damage out of all snipers in the game. It also has potential to kill with only one bullet. Overall, the hardest-hitting weapon in the game.
- R-301 Carbine – Even though this weapon does not have the highest accuracy, it is definitely very useful within close and medium distances. It also also fairly dependant on attachments, especially extended magazines.
- Hemlok Burst AR – We would use this weapon only for medium rather than long range. However, this is only a personal preference. This bad boy has a good kick in it, so you should be on point while controlling the recoil.
- G7 Scout – If you can not get your hands on Kraber, you should definitely go for this sniper. It causes a decent amount of damage and, on the whole, it's useful to have at your side.
- Devotion LMG – This is a slow starter. However, if you hold the trigger for a couple of seconds, you will see that the rate of fire will increase. Additionally, this weapon has an insanely huge magazine.
- Prowler Burst PDW – If you can not find attachments for this SMG, you should just drop it. However, once attachments are equipped, it causes insane damage and has very easy-to-control recoil.
- R-99 – Although you cannot hit anything at long range with this one, it melts people at short range.
- EVA-8-Auto – The only automatic Shotgun in the game. It does not pack a huge punch, but it can definitely get the job done early on in the game.
- VK-47 Flatline – Another weapon for close range. Overall it has a lot of good perks, such as magazine size, recoil and damage.
- Havoc – This weapon is highly dependant on attachments. However, once equipped, it can be very lethal.
- Long Bow DMR – Out of all snipers, this one is definitely the worst. Even though it can actually kill people with one hit, the rate of fire is so low that it is just not viable.
- Triple Take – This is a weird sniper. It fires three beams which split at long range. From our experience, this weapon lacks damage.
- Alternator SMG – Definitely the worst SMG in the game. Hard to control recoil, low magazine size, and overall low damage output make this one of the least-used weapons by players.
- Mozambique Shotgun – This shotgun only has three bullets in the clip. Furthermore, it has barely any range and no damage. This weapon should only be used if you cannot find anything else.
- RE-45 Auto – Another weapon that is mostly used in the early stage of the game. Given the fact that this is a pistol, it has not range nor damage.
- P2020 – For a pistol, this weapon is highly accurate, but it severely lacks damage. Just like Re-45 Auto, it is only used in the early stage of the game.
APEX LEGENDS CHARACTERS
There are 8 characters in the game at the moment. However, this will probably change in the future, mainly because people are always looking for fresh content. Another thing you need to know is that 6 of these characters are unlocked, while 2 of them will have to be unlocked via micro-transactions in the game. Read on for a full breakdown and description of each character!
If you are into damaging and eliminating opponents, Bangalore – part of the Offense class of characters – is perfect for you.
Double Time: If you find yourself in trouble and your opponents are shooting at you, this ability will come in handy. Basically, for a short period of time, you'll be able to move with an incredible pace and your opponents will have a hard time shooting at you.
Smoke Launcher: To be honest, we are not too crazy about this particular ability. Given the fact that Bangalore is a damage dealer, we don't really understand why would she need a smoke barrage. However, Smoke Launcher can be useful if you need to get away from a tight situation or if you need to revive one of your allies.
Rolling Thunder: Basically, this is an airstrike which will bomb a certain spot of your choice. It's really simple to use, allowing you to force your opponents out hiding, especially in the final stage of the game when the circle is small.
In our opinion, this is the coolest, most mysterious-looking character in the game. Bloodhound belongs to the Recon class, and is a lot of fun to play with.
Tracker: A standard ability for Recon characters, Tracker allows you to track footprints and other activities of your opponents. Furthermore, it can also help you and your team get a drop on your enemies, and in most cases, you will be able to win those duels without any problems, as they will not expect you.
Eye of the Allfather: Another very common ability that allows you to reveal enemies around you. You'll also be able to see traps and a whole bunch of clues lying around the map.
Beast of Hunt: As simple as it gets. This ultimate ability will increase your speed, and you will also be able to highlight your enemies.
From our perspective, this character belongs to the Recon class; however, the amount of damage she is capable of dealing is incredible. This is why we would call Wraith a hybrid.
Voices from the Void: One of the strongest passive ability in the game. If someone is about to sneak behind you and take you out, a voice in the Wraith’s head will let you know.
Into the Void: Another great ability which will make you invincible for a short period of time. It also allows you to become invisible and close the gap or cover your loses to escape danger.
Dimensional Rift: This time around, Wraith’s Ultimate ability will help you transfer your entire team to a certain location. However, in order to pull this off, you will have to reach that location yourself. Another thing you need to be aware of is that Dimensional Rift only lasts for 60 seconds.
Pathfinder is the only robot in the current characters tab. He is not a typical Medic, being used to explore the map rather than to heal.
Insider Knowledge: This character can scan the survey beacon, allowing you to find out where the next circle will take place.
Grappling Hook: Another helpful ability that will take you from one place to another very quickly; hence, this skill is best used in rocky terrains.
Zipline Gun: This one is pretty straightforward; some examples can be found throughout the map. Basically, Pathfinder can set up a Zipline not only for himself. but also for his allies. A very useful ability if you are in a hurry, or if you need to escape dodgy situations.
Also part of the Medic group, Lifeline is the opposite of Pathfinder, as she is mostly focused on healing and repairing the damage dealt to your allies.
Combat Medic: A really simple passive ability, but yet so effective. Basically, this ability will help you revive fallen allies at a faster pace. Furthermore, healing items are also used 25% faster.
D.O.C. Heal Drone: Another support ability that can greatly help your squad. It summons a robot that will fly around and heal your allies over a short period of time.
Care Package: This ability will drop a high tier gear for you and your allies. It's best used prior to the fight, or towards the end of the game where you can safely equip yourself with the best gear possible.
Gibraltar is the ultimate tank – a perfect mixture of a support and a damage dealer, he offers the perfect balance, which is why he is one of the most popular characters in the Apex Legends so far.
Gun Shield: As simple as it can be. Once you zoom in your weapon or you aim down sight, you will be granted with an extra shield that will block incoming shots.
Dome of Protection: An all-around support ability that you can also use to block entrances to certain spots. However, its primary goal is to protect you and your teammates. Beware, this shield only lasts for 15 seconds.
Defensive Bombardment: This is a very similar ultimate ability to Bangalore’s. However, Bangalore's ultimate ability bombs the entire line, while Gibraltar's ultimate will focus on one place, leading to an insane amount of damage.
On to the premium characters. At the moment, there are only two offered, and both of them will cost you either 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins. Part of the Recon class, we'd have to say that in our experience, Mirage is an extraordinarily fun character to play with.
Encore: Every time Mirage is hit by the enemy, this ability will create a decoy which will hide him for 5 seconds. This ability is a great counter to other Recon classes such as Bloodhound.
Psyche Out: This ability allows for a lot of fun! Just send out one of your decoys in a random direction, and watch your opponents either freak out or spend hundreds of bullets trying to take you down. However, this ability can also help you out if you are stuck in a dangerous situation, or if you want to get a location on someone, acting as the perfect bait.
Vanishing Act: If one decoy is not enough for you, then this ultimate ability will bring a smile to your face. Once activated, Mirage sends out a squad of decoys in random directions, and goes into stealth mode for a brief period of time.
The second premium character in the game, Caustic will also cost you either 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins. Just like Gibraltar, he is a powerful Tank; however, heavily focused on damage.
Nox Vision: To be honest, this is not a really useful passive skill, although it may give you an advantage in some cases. Basically, it will allow you can see through gas.
Nox Gas Trap: This one is definitely more useful than Nox Vision. You can place a trap around the map, catching your enemies off-guard. However, the only way you can activate this trap is if you shoot at it, or if your enemies activate it.
Nox Gas Grenade: This is just an upgrade to Caustic’s tactical ability, and involves a huge barrage of toxic smoke thrown on a big area. This ability is best used in the final circle, and in most cases, it will help you out massively.
