How To Start RMR CS:GO Betting

RMR CS:GO events act as the prelude to the Majors, but more on that in a bit. If you want to start off your RMR betting adventure the right way, be sure to read our guide below in full.

In general, betting on these tournaments doesn’t differ much from betting on others. In fact, it’s arguably easier due to the abundance of lower-ranked teams and the higher possibility of winning your bets (if you bet on the favourites and they actually play well).

You’ll also be able to learn more about CS:GO as an esports game, especially because the teams come from various corners of the world.

So, what do you need to do to start betting on CS:GO RMR matches?

  1. Choose a bookieEsports betting operators have certain characteristics that distinguish them from one another. In most cases, the biggest difference you’ll notice is the odds. While each bookie has a relatively similar method of creating the odds, there are subtle details that cause a certain degree of difference. You should also take a look at their payment methods at this point, just to guarantee that you’ll actually be able to use your chosen bookie for betting. Lastly, some may even offer a betting bonus, so it’s good to keep an eye out for that.
  2. Create a betting account – This is a fairly simple step because most bookies require just basic information such as your real name, email address, and proof of identity. You’ll also have to create a password for your account and possibly even click a verification link (usually sent to your email inbox).
  3. Add your preferred payment method – Once you’ve created your account, it’ll be time to connect your preferred payment method. Some widely-supported ones include PayPal, Skrill, Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies), and credit cards. The good news is that most bookies support more than 15 payment methods, so you’ll most likely be able to opt for the one you're used to already.
  4. Watch a few live streams or VODs – Watching streams or VODs is an important activity for any esports punter. This is when you’ll learn the most about the game and what the current team performances look like. Without doing so, you’d essentially be placing blind bets that are incredibly risky and usually not worth it. Always dedicate some time to catch up with how the teams are performing so you have the latest information available.
  5. Place your bets – All that’s left for you to do at this point is place your bets! Remember – if you’re just starting out, it’s best not to rush into it. Take your time, place a few bets and see how it goes.

What Does RMR Mean in CS:GO Esports?

RMR stands for ‘Regional Major Rankings’, which act as the qualification method for CS:GO Major Championships that was first launched prior to the ESL One: Rio 2020 tournament. The main reason behind the existence of RMR is the global pandemic that broke out that same year.

In a nutshell, the RMR was launched to circumvent the issue of CS:GO Minor Tournaments (that served as qualification for the Majors) in the past, as these events were offline. So, Valve created the RMR that consists of three ‘independent’ regional qualifiers.

The BLAST.tv RMR will feature two European events, one American, and one Asia-Pacific event. No changes from last time as far as the RMR events are concerned. Of course, each event will have different seeding mechanics for the main event. However, we’ll reveal more about that later on in the tournament format section.

All things considered, the RMR system has brought in a much-needed shakeup in the pro CS:GO scene. Valve’s Majors were slowly falling out of favour with the bigger teams due to other tournaments being set up in a simpler manner while having nearly the same lucrativeness. Now, with the refreshed RMR system, things are looking up once more!

RMR CS:GO Betting Markets

The betting markets you can expect for betting on CS:GO RMR matches are essentially the same as for any major CS:GO tournament. In any case, there’s plenty for you to choose from, so you'll always have something different to explore.

Outrights

Outrights are a very popular choice when it comes to CS:GO betting, predominantly due to the strength of certain teams. For example, FaZe Clan is currently the best team in the world (as per the HLTV rankings) which means that placing an outright bet on them should have a high chance of being a winning bet. However, the issue in this specific example is that the odds likely won’t be as good. Regardless, outrights are popular because they’re a high-risk, high-reward type of bet.

Match Winners

Match Winner bets are the simplest form of betting market out there. All you have to do is choose which of the two teams playing against each other you think will win. These wagers are best placed when you’re looking to create a betting slip with multiple match-winner bets.

CS:GO Special Bets

  • Most Kills – This one is pretty self-explanatory: bet on the player you think will have the most kills in a match. In rare cases, you may also get a chance to bet on the player you think will have the most kills by the end of the tournament! It must also be said that the odds for this betting market are pretty good due to the challenge this bet presents.
  • Least Deaths – Another simple bet – everything that we mentioned in the ‘Most Kills’ betting market explanation above applies here as well.
  • Special Bets – Special bets are fairly unique in that they can differ from bookie to bookie. Most Headshots and Pistol Round Winner are some of the special bets you could run into.
  • Player vs. Player Kills – Some bookmakers feature player vs. player kills too. They basically provide you with two contestants, and you have to guess which of them will have more kills at the end of the match.
  • Total Rounds/Maps – Commonly known as totals, these bets are based on either rounds or maps (in best of series). Bookies provide you with an average (e.g. 25.5 for rounds or 1.5 for maps) and it’s on you to guess if the final count will be over or under the average specified by the bookie.

Accumulators a.k.a ‘Parlays'

In addition to singles, online esports betting sites typically allow accumulators for CS:GO markets. Also known as ‘parlays', these bets basically consist of several different lines, all of which have to win for the parlay/accumulator to go through. If there’s only one loss, the whole parlay loses.

These bets offer a lot higher rewards as the individual odds of each line multiply with each other. However, there’s a lot more risk too, since you have to correctly guess all of them to win. Therefore, we advise that you never base your entire betting arsenal on parlays. It’s best to use them to support your other RMR CS:GO betting markets, preferably singles.

Live CS:GO Esports Betting

Live bets are no longer a rare sight when it comes to CS:GO esports. With each passing year, we’re getting more and more bookies that fully support live betting on our favourite events or tournaments. But what are live bets, exactly?

In the shortest terms possible, live bets are the same as conventional bets with one big difference: they’re based on ongoing matches.

Odds for live CS:GO bets change rapidly. If you want to succeed in live CS:GO betting, you’ll have to be extremely fast. But, even if speed is your middle name, you should still focus primarily on conventional CS:GO bets instead of their live counterparts.

BLAST.tv RMR Predictions

Now for some concrete BLAST RMR betting predictions. Here are the top four teams who are expected to cruise through their BLAST Major RMR events and qualify for the Paris Major:

G2

First up – G2! As things stand right now, NiKo and the company are the best bunch in the world. Their recent campaigns have been phenomenal, to say the least. Three big events, three big titles. It’s going to be very, very difficult to make it for in a row, in our view.

Even though we’re used to Niko running things in G2, m0NESY is the new banger on the block. He’s been the most consistent player for G2 ever since the beginning of their rise to the top. The youngster is going to develop into the next S1mple – you’ve heard it here first!

Long story short, G2 is the team to bet on when it comes to the European Regional Major Rankings tournament. They’re not invincible, but when they’re on a roll, they’re pretty darn close.

Team Liquid

There’s nothing much to be said about Team Liquid’s chances of qualifying for the BLAST.tv Paris Major. They’ve been in tremendous form lately and are on their way to capturing another fine finish on ESL Pro League Season 17.

If you’re interested in BLAST RMR betting, Team Liquid is the obvious bet for the American installment. They’ve been relatively dominant against much stronger European sides, so we can safely assume they’ll dominate against their American brethren too.

Don’t get us wrong – there are a lot of quality teams in both South and North America, but Liquid is by far the strongest one. They have the best collective and the best individuals. Although surprises tend to happen here and there, especially to a team that perhaps doesn’t have the best consistency, we doubt we’ll see them miss out on the opportunity to qualify for the Paris Major as Legends.

Many still aren’t certain as to where to put NAVI these days. It’s obvious that 2022 just wasn’t their year. They got just one major title at BLAST Premier Spring Finals, which speaks more than anything else. They had a few second place finishes (PGL Major Antwerp and IEM XVII Cologne), but their overall form wasn’t up to their usual standards.

The end of 2022 was pretty rough for them, so we can say that their IEM Katowice performance was a step in the right direction. ESL Pro League S17 group D matches can’t come soon enough. We expect great things from NaVi. If nothing else, their group D action will give us a much better look at what to expect from s1mple and co on the CS:GO EU RMR event in Copenhagen. So, if you’re thinking of placing a bet on NAVI, you should wait until they’re done with their ESL Pro League Season 17 campaign.

FaZe Clan

Last but not least, FaZe Clan! The Faze lineup find themselves in RMR Europe A with the likes of Outsiders, NAVI, and OG. These three will be their biggest competitors in what’s otherwise quite an unextraordinary group. Quality-wise, RMR B is packed with way better teams.

Back to FaZe Clan, these guys are still enjoying themselves. Even though 2022 will be hard to improve upon, their 2023 has been pretty good so far. BLAST Premier Spring went by as planned, though IEM Katowice could’ve been better. They’re still in the ESL Pro League equations too, which ought to mean a lot.

Considering the lack of competition in RMR A, FaZe Clan is likely to be at the top of the RMR CS:GO betting odds, for sure.

Where To Watch BLAST.tv CS:GO RMR

The BLAST Twitch channel will broadcast some of the biggest matches set to take place. For others, you’ll have to look for individual Twitch streamers covering the events or enjoy the in-game GOTV broadcast.

Summary

The esports world is rich with events happening all over the world, all the time, offering numerous possibilities to punters looking to start their esports betting careers.

As with most CS:GO tournaments, the CS:GO RMR event is also set to be a banger, especially considering how many top-ranked teams are participating. There’s no doubt that your RMR CS:GO betting experience will be an enjoyable one. Good luck!
