RMR CS:GO events act as the prelude to the Majors, but more on that in a bit. If you want to start your RMR betting adventure, this is the place.
In general, betting on these tournaments doesn’t differ much from betting on others. In fact, it’s arguably easier due to the abundance of lower-ranked teams and the higher possibility of winning your bets (if you bet on the favourites and they actually play well).
You’ll also be able to learn more about CS:GO as an esports game, especially because the teams come from various corners of the world.
So, what do you need to do to start betting on CS:GO RMR matches?
RMR stands for ‘Regional Major Rankings’. The RMR acts as the qualification method for CS:GO Major Championships that was first launched prior to the ESL One: Rio 2020 tournament. The main reason behind the existence of RMR is the global pandemic.
It was launched to circumvent the issue of CS:GO Minor Tournaments (that served as qualification for the Majors) in the past because these events were offline. So, Valve created the RMR that consists of three ‘independent’ regional qualifiers.
These are the Americas RMR, European RMR, and Asia-Pacific RMR. Depending on the team’s finishing position, they may be granted Legend, Challenger, or Contender statuses (top eight teams only). Teams that qualify with Legend Status are automatically seeded into the Legends Stage (more on this later). The rest have to go through the Challengers Stage that feeds into the Legends Stage.
Overall, it’s a very interesting concept that seems to be working well, at least judging by viewership numbers and the added opportunities that smaller teams get.
The betting markets you can expect for betting on CS:GO RMR matches are essentially the same as for any major CS:GO tournament. In any case, there’s plenty for you to choose from so the betting experience will never get stale.
As mentioned before, there are four main sub-events that are part of the larger RMR CS:GO tournament whole, with small differences between the formats. Here’s what they look like:
Date: 04.10.2022 – 09.10.2022
Prize Pool: TBD
Number of Participating Teams: 16
Swiss Stage:
Date: 05.10.2022 – 09.10.2022
Date: 07.10.2022 – 09.10.2022
Number of Participating Teams: 4
Playoffs:
The Road to Rio RMR CS:GO event contains four smaller stages – two for Europe, one for the Americas, and one for the Asia-Pacific region. Esports teams from numerous countries will take part in each of their respective sub-events.

While there are plenty of capable teams in this year’s CS:GO RMR events, only a few are considered the favourites. These teams have been playing spectacularly throughout the year and they’ll be a tough call for any team facing them.
FaZe Clan is currently the top-ranked team in CS:GO. They’ve won most of the S-Tier tournaments in 2022, including IEM XVI Katowice, ESL Pro League 15, PGL Major Antwerp 2022, and IEM XVII Cologne.

However, they do seem to experience disruptive moments when they don’t play as well, causing them to lose to arguably weaker teams. Nonetheless, based on how they’ve been playing, many believe that FaZe Clan will take victory in the CS:GO European RMR tournament.
Natus Vincere is another very strong team that is considered among the favourites. 2022 wasn’t as successful as 2021; this team virtually dominated the opposition in the past year, but they haven’t been able to recreate this dominance since replacing their IGL Boombl4 with SDY.

With that said, NaVi still managed to win two S-Tier tournaments, namely the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 (after defeating Team Vitality in the finals) and their respective group in BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2022 (also defeating Vitality in the finals). If anyone has equal footing compared with FaZe Clan, it’s Natus Vincere.
G2 Esports is currently ranked as the #6 best team in the world but there have been some moments of brilliance over the past few months. And, while their start of the year was slow and disappointing, it seems as though G2 is picking up steam.

For starters, they finished in a respectable 3rd/4th in the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 tournament and had an okay time in the BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2022 event. While they are probably not seen as capable of winning the CS:GO RMR event, they may manage to cause an upset in the end.
You can watch all of the CS:GO RMR events live by visiting the official ESL Twitch channel. Alternatively, there may be live streams on their YouTube channel as well, although they use the platform predominantly for VODs.
The esports world is rich with events happening all over the world, all the time, offering numerous possibilities to punters looking to start their esports betting careers.
As with most CS:GO tournaments, the CS:GO RMR tournament is also set to be a banger, especially considering how many top-ranked teams are participating. There’s no doubt that your RMR CS:GO betting experience will be an enjoyable one! Good luck!
RMR is short for ‘Regional Major Rankings’. These events serve as qualifiers for the main IEM Rio Major 2022 tournament.
There are a couple of favourites to win this event. As far as the European RMR tournaments are concerned, FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere, and G2 Esports have the highest chances of winning. And as for the Americas, Team Liquid are pretty strong favourites.
Currently, the best and strongest team in the world is FaZe Clan, followed closely by Natus Vincere in the rankings.
