AYThe NA LCS 2018 Regional Qualifier Tournament counts as the big chance for qualifying at the end for the LoL Worlds 2018 for those teams, who didn't secure a place in the summer split playoffs. Team Liquid can peacefully bypass that tournament with their fabulous 3:0 win against Cloud9. The tournament format is called “Gauntlet”, the more championship points a team has earned during the current season, the later it enters the tournament. With Echo Fox and Clutch Gaming playing the first round in the tournament, Team Solo Mid entering in the second round and Cloud 9 (as number 2 of the grand finals) awaiting exhausted opponents in round 3. Like the Summer Playoffs, all matches are played in the “best of five (b-o-5)” mode. The first game start on Friday, September 14th, so make sure you catch them live!

Round 1: Echo Fox vs. Clutch Gaming
Start Time: September 14th, 14:00 PM PDT / 17:00 PM EDT / 23:00 Cest
In North America, the opening game is Echo Fox against Clutch Gaming. This match, too, would have been an uneasy predictable game during the regular split phase, but in Bo5 continuity and strategy reaval the key for round 2.
Echo Fox: Also with FOX-Huni, the team lost in the quarter finals against Team Solo Mid in a 2:3. The initial lead of Fox, unfortunately, quickly overturned. Nevertheless, the team around coach Inferno has made two good splits this year so far and the eighth place of last year seems forgotten. After 8.16 the damage peaks were clearly reduced and the “Burst and Die” tactic of Echo Fox didn't work out anymore. Apart from FOX-Huni's moody top lane, Smoothie and Lost, who was recently crowned the best Lucian player, have to show us again their carry-modus.
Clutch Gaming: In the end it was still enough for round 1. After CG had to retire prematurely from the split on rank 9 shortly ahead the GGS and couldn’t qualify for the playoffs… The only chance I can give the team would be an unexpected roaster change, possibly with Jungle Joker Moon. Under no circumstances may only improved split performance make the play on Friday, nevertheless the hope will soon be buried again.
Prognosis: I agree with the opinion of the bookmakers and see a clear advantage in the opening game for FOX, without talking CG out of every chance. Nevertheless, I am committing myself to a 1:3 for Echo Fox.
