Teams Overview and short background
- Edward Gaming (EDG) is currently a ‘powerhouse’ team that has already participated at the highest competitive levels. Taking down SKTT1 during the Mid-Season Invitational and taking top place in the LPL during both the spring and summer splits. They’re currently the team to beat.
- Qiao Gu Reapers (QG) stormed into the League of Legends competitive scene with great fashion, showing great performance since their formation. They’ve shown to be a top Chinese team holding places between 3rd place and 1st.
- Team Snake (SS) are a team full of potential, showing more strengths than weaknesses, during the LPL summer split they managed to take the 4th place by the end of it. With them being a very new team their performance was phenomenal. Having only formed in 2014 and having only competed in the 2015 summer split.
- Invictus Gaming (IG) have held the title of being a top Chinese team for a while now. Being one of the legacy teams in the LPL they’ve got a lot of experience that they’re able to use against their enemies to help them hold a top spot. Constantly taking a top 3 place has earned them their place at the World Championship, where they have previously been during Season 2, World Championship 2012.
- LGD-Gaming (LGD) have shown some inconsistency in 2015 however they managed to have an amazing performance in the summer season showing their true strength and potential, after taking 5th place in the summer season they qualified for the gauntlet and took appropriate steps to improve and are now considered one of, if not, the strongest Chinese LoL teams.
- Masters 3 (M3) are a team that formed after Team WE and WE Academy departed, with a strong starting line-up they’ve shown some strength since their formation in late 2014 however they’re currently seen as an underdog team because of their lack of consistency.
- Oh My God (OMG) is a veteran team that have existed since 2012 and have shown previously how amazing they can perform. After creating a big upset during the World Championship 2014 they’ve had a reputation to uphold as a well performing team and even through some roster troubles they’ve managed to maintain some of their core strengths.
- Vici Gaming (VG) have ran into a lot of trouble since their formation in late 2014 with multiple team members leaving, their organisation splitting and players having to swap roles but throughout all of this they have managed to go against some of the toughest teams and come out on top.
