The LMS is comprised of teams from the regions Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The LMS has 2 seeds granted for the World Championship 2015, with seeds being determined by LMS summer playoffs and circuit point accumulation across both season. Top teams from the LMS after the summer season had to battle it out at the LMS Summer Playoffs whilst the top teams, excluding the playoffs winner, with the highest amount of circuit points also had a chance to be granted a World Championship seed during the LMS Regionals. This feature will be taking a look at the teams from the LMS that have qualified for the group stages at the World Championship in Europe. The two teams are AHQ E-Sports Club and Yoe Flash Wolves. Both of these teams have diverse histories and have been able to accumulate and prove their strength during their seasons in the LMS. AHQ have shown that they are without a doubt one of the strongest LMS team by winning both the spring and summer playoffs. Yoe Flash Wolves have also shown a significant amount of strength taking 1st during the Spring Round Robin, 3rd place during the summer split and managing to win the regionals against the 2nd place team Honk Kong E-Sports.
During the LMS tournament, both spring and summer splits, AHQ managed to dominate, taking 1st place during the playoffs in both seasons. With a rocky start in the spring season, only making it to 4th place with 13 wins to 8 losses (62% win rate), AHQ managed to improve as a team having to make no roster swaps. This allowed them to win the spring split playoff and also take 1st place during the Summer Round Robin with 25wins and only 3 losses. Having constantly dominated the LMS summer things didn’t change once they reached playoffs. Holding a finals seed from the summer round robin they only had to perform in 1 best of 5 series, this was against Hong Kong E-Sports and they manage to win 3:0. After their victory they earned their place at the groups stage of the World Championship taking first seed from the LMS.

Worlds Group Stage: Group A
After an outstanding performance during the 2015 Spring Round Robin, with a 90% win rate holding 19 wins to 2 losses, the Yoe Flash Wolves have shown phenomenal teamwork and ability to perform when needed. During the summer round robin of the LMS they managed to hold a top place taking 2nd to AHQ E-Sports Club, with 21 wins to 7 losses. Things seemed a bit rocky for them during the summer playoffs, losing to HKES 3:1, but they managed to defeat their rivals when it mattered. The LMS Regionals was yoeFW’s last chance to make it to the Worlds group stage and with a fantastic best of 5 series against HKES they won 3:2, earning their place at the World Championship 2015. With a 7 man roster, making substitutes when they see fit, they’re able to adapt to multiple different style of play. This makes yoeFW a threat to any team, allowing them to have previously taken wins against the top performing teams of their region. With consistently strong performance the yoeFW are looking to make an impact at worlds.

LMS Prospects at LoL Worlds 2015
Prediction: With AHQ showing phenomenal strategic play and improvement whilst also having taken 9/12th in the World Champions 2014 I’m going to have to assume that they’re going to perform better this year. I’m going to predict AHQ making it to 5th/8th place in the tournament.
Whilst Yoe Flash Wolves have shown outstanding team work and ability to perform I don’t think they’re quite ready to content for the World Championship top places, however they’re still strong enough to beat other qualifying teams. I’m going to predict yoeFW making it to 9/12th place at Worlds 2015.
With many exciting games ahead I’m sure we’re all excited for the World Championship, however with the group stages not yet being defined for either team these predictions may not hold much accuracy. They’re predicted on a best-case scenario basis.
