Week 7 of the LCS Summer Split 2018 has begun. In ancient Babylon the number 7 stood for bad luck, others such as aircraft manufacturer Boing or Agent 007 use them probably in a positive fashion. In the seventh week of play, some teams will probably have to hope for a bond to carry them through the game. The days are now numbered, first the Summer Split Playoffs followed by the legendary League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds).

In NA, the double win of 100 Thieves and Team Liquid has finally broadened the table and both teams are set for 8 victories. Nobody wanted the post-8.11. world, but it means to adapt or die. I can't say exactly what it is, but all trials in North America are experimental and no team has yet been able to show a secure meta-strategy. The praise in the social networks for the Golden Guardians does not break off despite the double defeat in week 6, that team has delivered two good games again. Somebody's got to win, so somebody's got to lose.  Nevertheless, in NA it remains exciting and from the arithmetical approach every team can still reach the summer split playoffs. No one should miss the new week with exciting encounters and the roller coaster of emotions – turn on the livestream 4th August, first match at 23:00 CEST!

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 TL vs 100

Match #1: Team Liquid League of Legends LoL Team Logo Team Liquid vs. 100 Thieves 100 Thieves League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 4th, 02:00 PM PT / 05:00 PM ET / 23:00 CEST

The first match in North America will be played by Team Liquid against the 100 Thieves. It is the top match of the evening, as both teams are currently in first place in the North American LCS Summer Split standings. Both teams have won one game each in the last two weeks. The 100 Thieves have won in two exciting games against Clutch Gaming and Counter Logic Gaming. Team Liquid also won against Clutch Gaming and had a hard time winning against the Golden Guardians at the beginning.

The last match between TL and 100 was a long way back in the split and was the opening game for the 2018 NA Summer Split, when Team Liquid chose a classic line-up with TL-Atrox, Camille. Galio, Xayah, Rakan and 100 dared to enter the meta with 100 – Renekton, Trundle, Irelia, Vladimir and Leona. As expected, 100 dominated the early and middle game more or less completely and TL could only turn the tide from minute 23+. Both teams know their weaknesses and strengths. On the side of Team Liquid it is clear that an undisturbed Xayah & Rakan Lane can do evil damage and on the part of 100 Thieves Jungle fights besides aiming for objectives must be stopped. Team Liquid, on the other hand, often sinks into passivity and also has to play out early advantages to a greater extent. We will see if TL-Doublelift and Olleh reach their full potential or if the TL-Botlane is disturbed early.

It will be a game at eye level and yet we see Team Liquid with a small advantage. I think the problems in decisions-making/calls of the 100 Thieves will cost them the game. I'm betting on a hard-fought 1:0 victory for Team Liquid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 C9 vs CG

Match #2: Cloud9 League of Legends LoL Team Logo Cloud 9 vs. Clutch Gaming  Clutch Gaming League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 4th, 03:00 PM PT / 06:00 PM ET / 00:00 CEST (the next day)

In the second match of the evening Cloud 9 will encounter Clutch Gaming. Cloud 9 surprisingly managed the double victory against Echo Fox and TSM in week 6. In the game against TSM, Cloud 9 was able to take over the dynamics of the game in the final minutes of the game after several back and forth games with a gold advantage. Jungler C9 – Blaber was on the spot on Kindred in the decisive moments of the game and was able to achieve safe shutdowns around the objectives. I also found the C9 – Sneaky Pick interesting, even though Quinn's damage output was low as expected. C9 – Quinn dealte 17 K Champion Damage, whereas the TSM – Xayah set up 27 K. Cloud 9 is coming up with new ideas and is back to the playoffs with 5 wins. I'm expecting a 1-0 win for Cloud 9.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 CLG vs Echo Fox

Match #3: Counter Logic Gaming League of Legends LoL Team Logo Counter Logic Gaming vs. Echo Fox Echo Fox League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 4th, 04:00 PM PT / 07:00 PM ET / 01:00 CEST (the next day)

Counter Logic Gaming plays against Echo Fox. Most recently, Cloud 9 gave away a precious victory over Cloud 9 in week 6 and could only win one game against Fly Quest. At the moment Fox is still in the playoffs with 7 victories, but many of the dead-believed rivals are now aiming for the top of the table again. Counter Logic Gaming remained victorious in week 6 and I don't count on the team to win this game. In a clear game FOX will sweep the opponent CLG off the pitch, so I guess a 0:1 for Echo Fox.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 Optic vs FlyQuest

Match #4: OpTic Gaming League of Legends LoL Team Logo Optic Gaming vs. Fly Quest FlyQuest League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 4th, 05:00 PM PT / 08:00 PM ET / 02:00 CEST (the next day)

In the penultimate game of the evening, Optic Gaming encounters rival Fly Quest. The last match was in week 2, where Fly Quest won against Optics. In a 41-minute game, both teams literally had several ups/aheads and downs/behinds. The leading Optics with a strong gold advantage, however, lost Baron Nashor and Fly Quest sabreled through the base of Optics and delivered a picture-book baron powerplay. I bet on a win for Fly Quest and expect an exciting game. So im guessing a 0:1 for Fly Quest.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 TSM vs GGS

Match #5: Team SoloMid League of Legends LoL Team Logo Team Solo Mid vs. Golden Guardians Golden Guardians League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 4th, 06:00 PM PT / 09:00 PM ET / 03:00 CEST (the next day)

The last match of the evening is our unlucky Team Solo Mid against the Golden Guardians. What was going on again… TSM gave away both games of week 6 and even one of them in such an easy misplays. The Golden Guardians could not win either and lost first against Match-Favorit Team Liquid, but then also against Optic Gaming. TSM have to fight for their playoffs, but also the GGS want to reach them logically. It will be a fierce relegation game and TSM is unfortunately ahead in such important games. So I'm betting on a 1-0 victory for TSM.

Who is going to win?

NA LCS Summer Split 2018 – Week 7 | Day 2

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 TL vs FLY

Match #1: Team Liquid League of Legends LoL Team Logo Team Liquid vs. FlyQuest FlyQuest League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 5th, 12:00 PM PT / 03:00 PM ET / 21:00 CEST

Team Liquid encounters FlyQuest. The two teams last saw each other in the Summoner's Rift in Match Week 4. FlyQuest defeated TL in just 23 minutes and 52 Seconds. In a strong early, FLY-Santorin made TL-Impact life to hell and took him completely out of the game. FlyQuest currently with 7 victories close onto Team Liquid's. Most recently, Team Liquid has repeatedly shown top performance and is warming up for the League of Legends World Championship. Still, I don't think there is a chance for FlyQuest to stop the team and bet on a 1-0 victory for Team Liquid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 Cloud9 vs CLG

Match #2: Cloud9 League of Legends LoL Team Logo Cloud9 vs. Couunter Logic Gaming Counter Logic Gaming League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 5th, 01:00 PM PT / 04:00 PM ET / 22:00 CEST

Cloud 9 encounters Counter Logic Gaming in the second game of the evening. These two rivals also met in week 4 and Counter Logic Gaming had won the game. I can still remember as if it was yesterday, as it was one of the most epic-war-games at the time of the meta. In a length of 48 minutes Counter Logic Gaming with CLG – Darshan, Reignover, huhui, Stixxay and Biofrost finally managed to destroy the nexus of C9. Cloud 9's defense was also praiseworthy, in the end it “almost looked like a turn” for them. But C9-Svenskeren was not yet fully equipped with 0/7/8 and 219 farm even from minute 40. Cloud 9 is currently on par with Counter Logic Gaming in the table, but I still see a game advantage for C9 and guess 1-0 for Cloud9.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 Echo Fox vs TSM

Match #3: Echo Fox League of Legends LoL Team Logo Echo Fox vs. Team Solo Mid Team SoloMid League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 5th, 02:00 PM PT / 05:00 PM ET / 23:00 CEST

Echo Fox encounters Team Solo Mid. Many may wonder what will happen to TSM recently – one defeat after another. (As always, the result of the first half of the season: in this case Echo Fox had won in week 4) But we can´t also just blame the current failure of TSM for less individual game performance, more and more it becomes clear that the problem lies in the current roaster. TSM-Bjergsen has already said in several interviews that he would rather not play too aggressively in the early game. Call-Maker is traditionally the supporter (sometimes Jungler) and at the moment the communication is not very good. Half-hearted following into an engagement can have bad consequences, as we have seen several times now. TSM-Mithy himself said in an interview that he is used to playing with much more aggressive players (than Mid and Top)

All TSM fans please don´t listen, but it seems obvious that this will not go well in the long run. Either we get a new midlaner (e.g. Mikeyeung), or we have to replace TSM-Mithy. As already mentioned there were several avoidable situations in week 6, where the Supporter threw himself out of cover into certain death and none of the team followed. In the current state TSM needs a lot of luck to win the game and at the moment I think Echo Fox has an advantage. So I'm betting on a 1-0 victory for Echo Fox.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 100 vs GGS

Match #4: 100 Thieves League of Legends LoL Team Logo 100 Thieves vs. Golden Guardians Golden Guardians League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 5th, 03:00 PM PT / 06:00 PM ET / 00:00 CEST (the next day)

The 100 Thieves encounters the Golden Guardians. The Golden Guardians won their last encounter in week 4. With a linear game structure, the GGS won the game in 25 minutes. GGS-Lourlo on his favourite role Gangplank didn't make life on the Toplane very easy for the opponent's 100-Ssumday on Mundo. Also the very strong Heimerdinger/Fiddlesticks Botlane at that time, went to GGS, which also dominated Bot from the beginning. Finally, the GGS-Zoe completed the game with 8/1/8, in which she could almost kill opponents “oneshot”. Much time has passed since then and 100 have adjusted to their opponents. I think the pick and ban phase will be crucial in this encounter. I'm betting on a 1-0 win for the 100 Thieves.

NA LCS 2018 Week 7 CG vs OPT

Match #5: Clutch Gaming League of Legends LoL Team Logo Clutch Gaming vs. Optic Gaming OpTic Gaming League of Legends LoL Team Logo

August 5th, 04:00 PM PT / 07:00 PM ET / 01:00 CEST (the next day)

The last encounter of the evening is Clutch Gaming versus Optic Gaming. In week 4 CG won the game and it will be difficult to predict how it will end in week 7. CG currently in last place in standings recently had problems to finish that game consistently. Even with an early lead, map control and objective achievement could not be expanded. There is also a lot of class to keep in the defensive objectives, but often clutch gaming was too hesitant. Optic Gaming, on the other hand, will have to fight for their playoffs as the team is not yet able to rest on its 6 victories. I bet on a hard-fought game, but in the end a 0:1 victory for Optic Gaming.
