NA LCS 2018 Week 2 CG vs CLG

Match #1: Clutch Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo Clutch Gaming vs. Counter Logic Gaming Team Logo CLG DreamHack Montreal 2017

January 27th, 2018: 02:00 PM PST / 05:00 PM EST / 23:00 CET

Prediction: CLG is already under pressure in the second week, as the team has so far been without a win. Of course, a place in the top 5 of the league at the end of the season is still possible, but the team must begin to win those important games, and Clutch Gaming is a suitable opponent. I think CLG is the much stronger team in this duel, so I expect a 0-1 victory for Counter Logic Gaming.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 TSM vs OPT

Match #2: Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2018 small Team SoloMid vs. OpTic Gaming Optic Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

January 27th, 2018: 03:00 PM PST / 06:00 PM EST / 00:00 CET (the next day)

Team SoloMid is in a small crisis after the first week. The traditional North American team has never lost the first two games of a season. Of course, the defeat at the start of the first matchday against the direct competitor Team Liquid was particularly painful. However, no player stood out as a black sheep, all of them did their job reasonably well, but the coordination between the teammates did not yet seem to be on point. As a spectator you had the feeling that the team was sometimes not quite sure for themselves whether they were looking for a fight or wanted to disengage. However, this is no reason for TSM fans to worry about the rest of the split. TSM has an experienced coaching staff and very experienced players who are determined to work hard on the synergy between the individual players and also to improve the shot calling. After all, OpTic Gaming is supposed to be an easier opponent on the first day of the second week. The team around PowerOfEvil is also without victory after the first week, but this is less surprising than in the case of TSM. Many experts expect OpTic to be a candidate for last place in NA LCS. Although the positions are filled with well-known names, the competition in NA LCS this season is stronger than ever before. A victory against Team SoloMid would be an absolute sensation and would plunge the latter into an even greater crisis. With one of the world’s top mid lane players and the former bot lane duo of G2, TSM should be able to make it into the top 3 of NA LCS.

Prediction: Team SoloMid will do everything in the second week to fight back and get within the reach of its competitors. However, first place in the table still seems to be a long way off, but it’s all about getting into the playoffs, because every participant can still become an NA champion. The first week was unfortunate for TSM, but the quality of the team is undeniable. I expect a clear 1-0 victory for Team SoloMid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 C9 vs FOX

Match #3: Team Logo Cloud9 Cloud9 vs. Echo Fox Team Logo Echo Fox NA LCS 2018 small

January 27th, 2018: 04:00 PM PST / 07:00 PM EST / 01:00 CET (the next day)

Cloud9 proved in the first week of NA LCS that the team has a good chance of winning the NA LCS Spring Split. Many experts feared that the quality of the team would suffer greatly from the loss of top laner Impact. In previous years, Impact was an essential part of the line-up and was always there when Jensen and Sneaky had to fight with their form. But so far Licorice proved to be an excellent replacement and exceeded all expectations placed on him. The other players were also in good shape so far and the first matches made us look forward to all the upcoming matches. With Echo Fox, however, they are now facing their first challenge. After a restructuring in the pre-season, the organisation was able to sign some great players, including Huni of SK Telecom T1. From his time at Fnatic and the Immortals, Huni has been known by most of the fans in the West for his aggressive style of play and his passion for damage dealing champions. Returning to NA LCS, he delighted the fans with his top lane Lucian and was significant in the team’s opening win. Fox-jungler Dardoch has often attracted attention in the past splits through reports of his negative mentality and disrespectful behaviour towards his team mates, so the success of the team will depend on how Dardoch can deal with possible defeats of his team. If Echo Fox retains the same playing style and can beat teams like Cloud9, a place in the playoffs is almost certain.

Prediction: On paper, the roster of Cloud9 looks a lot more convincing, especially since the players have been playing together for a long time and Svenskeren is an experienced jungler in the team, who was able to develop well at Team SoloMid. Echo Fox will try to play very aggressively and finish the game as soon as possible, as this is the only way to prevent the strong team fights of Cloud9. The current meta, however, plays very much into the hands of compositions with many tanks that have no problem falling back into lane. I therefore expect a 1-0 victory for Cloud9.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 100 vs TL

Match #4: 100 Thieves NA LCS 2018 Team Logo 100 Thieves vs.  Team Liquid Team Logo Liquid

January 27th, 2018: 05:00 PM PST / 08:00 PM EST / 02:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: The 100 Thieves fully met expectations and are currently on a par with Team Liquid. However, Doublelift and Co. are still aiming high with their team, hoping to consolidate their place at the top and take the sole lead after the second week. I’m expecting a 0-1 victory for Team Liquid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 GGS vs Fly

Match #5: Golden Guardians NA LCS 2018 Team Logo Golden Guardians vs. FlyQuest FlyQuest NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

January 27th, 2018: 06:00 PM PST / 09:00 PM EST / 03:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: FlyQuest showed in their victory against Team SoloMid that this team actually has good chances to reach the playoffs. The Golden Guardians on the other side are more likely to be a candidate for the last place in NA LCS and have been the least convincing of all the new teams in North America so far. I’m expecting a 1-0 victory for FlyQuest.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 Echo Fox vs TSM

Match #1: Team Logo Echo Fox NA LCS 2018 small Echo Fox vs. Team SoloMid Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2018 small

January 28th, 2018: 02:00 PM PST / 05:00 PM EST / 23:00 CET

Not only the western LCS leagues are flipped upside down after the first matches of the Spring Split 2018, the fast-paced and exciting meta game is also tearing up the South Korean League of Legends scene. Newcomers and mid-range teams from the past few years suddenly find themselves at the top of the standings while the so-called favourites have to fight for every single victory. Week 1 of the LCS put a strong damper on Team SoloMid and Counter Logic Gaming, both teams were declassified by their opponents. Lategame strategies seem to be the go-to strategy for the start of the season and many teams are using highly scaling champions and stall into the late game for an easy win. Not so Echo Fox – the previously unbeaten team relies on fast matches and a lot of aggression in the early stages of the game, especially toplaner Huni seems to be dominant as ever. Does he still tend to overreact and tilt in games where it’s not going well for the exceptional player? Maybe! Does he still play imaginatively and tries to lead his team to victory on his own? Probably! Can I afford it? Definitely – the team’s performances so far have been phenomenal and the victories are more than deserved. At least in the first week Echo Fox did pretty much everything right – from Dardoch to Fenix to AD-Carry Altec, all players did their best and the team seems like an unpleasant opponent for every challenger using this style of play. On the other side of Summoner’s Rift we find Team SoloMid, Bjergsen and his team mates have already suffered two bitter defeats in Week 1 of the season. Actually the strategic metagame with scaling AD-Carrys is supposed to be optimal for Zven and mithy but the chemistry between the individual players is still not really there. Midlaner Bjergsen also lacks the dominance of the last seasons, only Hauntzer is playing consistently as usual – unfortunately this was not enough for a victory so far. The meta game and strategies are shifting from week to week and the fan favourites from Team SoloMid will find their rhythm over the course of the season. They will probably move into playoffs of the Spring Split but the Echo Fox team looks pretty dangerous at the moment.

Prediction: Of course the internationally experienced players of Team SoloMid are always in a position to win games and, thanks to their many years of experience, eliminate every opponent but the synergies within the team are not yet there. I decide against the opinion of our online betting sites and expect a 1-0 victory for Echo Fox.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 Cloud9 vs 100Thieves

Match #2: Team Logo Cloud9 Cloud9 vs. 100 Thieves 100 Thieves NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

January 28th, 2018: 03:00 PM PST / 06:00 PM EST / 00:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: In the second match of the day two teams meet each other on Summoner’s Rift which did not yet have to give up a victory. Both squads look solid, especially Cloud9’s toplaner Licorice was able to make a name for himself in the first few games of the season. Svenskeren in the jungle made some small mistakes but on the whole these two challengers meet on an equal footing. The outcome of this clash is hard to judge but I expect a narrow 1-0 victory for Cloud9.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 Optic vs FlyQuest

Match #3: Optic Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo OpTic Gaming vs. FlyQuest FlyQuest NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

January 28th, 2018: 04:00 PM PST / 07:00 PM EST / 01:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: While OpTic Gaming is still struggling for a single victory, FlyQuest was able to beat Team SoloMid in the first week of the Spring Split 2018. The team is perfectly capable of making it into the playoffs if they are able to show steady improvement. At the moment OpTic Gaming looks more like a team which will be found at the bottom of the table at the end of the season. Although they were so close to winning their first game three times some major mistakes in their strategy and gameplay always ruined their success. In this match I expect a 0-1 victory for FlyQuest.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 GoldenGuardians vs CLG

Match #4: Golden Guardians NA LCS 2018 Team Logo Golden Guardians vs. Counter Logic Gaming Team Logo CLG DreamHack Montreal 2017

January 28th, 2018: 05:00 PM PST / 08:00 PM EST / 02:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: Neither the Golden Guardians nor Counter Logic Gaming were able to stain themselves with glory in the first week of the North American LCS Spring Split, Darshan and his teammates even had to admit defeat against Clutch Gaming in Week 2. As a ray of hope the early stages of Counter Logic Gamings match were well thought out and ReignOver in the jungle was able to funnel some big advantages into toplaner Darshan. After that, however, the game of the American bedrocks collapsed like a house of cards. Nevertheless the unlucky team looked at least partially brilliant and on paper they should beat the Golden Guardians. I’m expecting the first win of HuHi and his teammates and a 0-1 victory for Counter Logic Gaming.

NA LCS 2018 Week 2 TL vs CG

Match #5: Team Logo Liquid Team Liquid vs. Clutch Gaming Clutch Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

January 28th, 2018: 06:00 PM PST / 09:00 PM EST / 03:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: The second week of the Spring Split also ends with a big bang when Team Liquid and Clutch Gaming meet each other in the last game of the day on Summoner’s Rift. Both teams have already been able to show what they are made of – but it was the European Midlaner Febiven in particular who caused a sensation with a pentakill in their game against Counter Logic Gaming and proved to his North American opponents that he is cast in the same mould. Team Liquid, however, seems to be a much bigger hurdle for the challengers because all of their players are internationally experienced and harmonize very well with each other. In the last match of the week I expect an exciting duel resulting in a 1-0 victory for Team Liquid.
