Logo of LCS NA Team CLGCounter Logic Gaming has been into the NA LCS Playoffs since its foundation in the early days of League of Legends. Although several roster changes had beset the oldest League of Legends team, their performance never faltered and they managed to win games in every LCS season, appearing in every LCS Playoffs since season 1 with Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng as its team captain. Now, they will once again appear before the LCS stage this Summer Playoffs and will face the winner of Team Impulse-Team Dignitas matchup as their 2nd place finish secured them a bye into the semifinals. In terms of championship points for Worlds 2015, their current 10 championship points no be not enough to grab the 2nd seed slot. Even if they finish the Playoffs in 2nd place, their championship points will only add to a total of 100 CP, 10-point short of Team SoloMid’s current 110 CP. Their only options are to win it all or grab the last and final slot in the NA Regional Qualifier.

This coming Summer Playoffs, they will face Team Dignitas in the quarterfinals before they can move to the semifinals where Counter Logic Gaming is waiting. Although they automatically qualify for NA Regional Qualifiers, they still got a long way before Worlds 2015 as their previous 4th place finish last Spring Split only scored them 30 championship points whereas they need at least 90 CP this Summer Playoffs to topple down Team SoloMid’s current 110 CP.

Gravity - NA LCS Team LogoThere are other notable teams in North America and Gravity is one of them. After their impressive debut season last Spring Split, a 5th place finish both in the season and in the playoffs, they will return in the LCS stage this Summer Playoffs with a renewed sense of confidence. Even though they will face Team SoloMid in the quarterfinals, their impressive performance against them in the season is enough to solidify them as a top contender this Summer Playoffs. The only downside is that their current 10 championship points are not enough to grab the 2nd seed slot for Worlds 2015 even if they finish the Summer Playoffs in 2nd place. Their only chance to qualify for the LoL World Championship is to win it all or win the NA Regional Qualifiers.

Current Roster of Gravity:

  • Top Lane: Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell
  • Jungle: Kang “Move” Min-su
  • Mid Lane: Lae-Young “Keane” Jang

Logo of LCS NA Team TSMWith their impressive championship run last Spring Split, Team SoloMid will return once again this Summer Playoffs for a chance to replicate their previous success and become the first North American team to qualify for Words 2015. Although they had their ups and down this season, they still clinched the 5th place spot for Summer Playoffs and will face Team Dignitas in the quarterfinals. Their current 90 points is also the highest among the top six teams and they have a high chance of grabbing the second seed slot for Worlds 2015 even if they will lose in the tournament, provided that Team Liquid will lose in their semifinal match. Nonetheless, they still have the NA Regional Qualifiers to rely on if everything else fails.

Logo of LCS NA Team DignitasWith their 9th place finish last Spring Split, Team Dignitas were almost relegated into the Challenger Series but were able to stay in the LCS due to their victory against Team Curse in the Promotion Tournament. Although they were the last team to qualify for Summer Playoffs, their performance was nonetheless impressive especially in the early few weeks of the season, defeating the likes of Team SoloMid, Team Liquid, Gravity, and Team Impulse. Their chances for Worlds 2015 are quite low as even if they managed to finish the playoffs in 2nd place, their current 30 championship points would only add up to 90 points, too short of Team SoloMid’s 110 CP and tying with Team Liquid’s 90 CP. Their only chance is to win it all or win the NA Regional Qualifies.

Current Roster of Team Dignitas:

  • Top Lane: Noh “Gamsu” Yeong-jin
