The Price Pool for the International 2017 has just surpassed 10 million dollars! Read our updated Page about the prize pool of Dota 2 TI7 here.
The price money of the Dota 2 The International 2017 seems to rise each year. The reason for that is Valve's unique approach: they crowdfund most of the price money. A part of the sales of the TI7 Battle Pass contributes directly to the price pool. This approach seems to work every year, making The International the highest priced tournament in esports. Valve has started this approach in 2013 where the price pool ended up at 2,8 million dollars. In 2014 it reached 10,9 million dollars, in 2015 18,4 million dollars and in 2016, for the first time, it reached 20,7 million dollars. Now after two weeks since the battle pass became available, we already have reached 10 million dollars.
With around 13 weeks to go still, it seems only logical that we reach and surpass the price pool of TI6. Especially since this years battle pass has a lot of really cool new features, which animates a lot of people to buy it and contribute to the price money. The support hero Io has received a cool itemset, which almost all of the community likes. It hides behind a high level in the battle pass, which means playing a lot of games or buying levels in the Dota 2 store.
