How To Start M4 World Championship Betting

The Mobile Legends M4 World Championship is upon us soon, so it’s worth getting ahead of the game and learning all you need to know to start your M4 World Championship betting adventure.

Mobile Legends has become a highly popular esports title with gameplay similar to other MOBAs, specifically League of Legends. Because of this, numerous esports bookies have started supporting Mobile Legends betting, which is good news for the esports betting world!

In any case, if you’re looking to bet on the M4 World Championship esports tournament, here’s what the process looks like:

  1. Choose a reputable bookie – The betting operators listed in this guide are trustworthy, reputable, and completely legit. Still, you should analyse and compare them to find the one you think will fulfill all your betting needs. You should take a look at their supported payment methods, betting markets, and betting odds before settling on one.
  2. Create a betting account – Once you’ve decided which bookie to use, you’ll have to create a betting account. This is usually a simple and straightforward process where you’ll need to enter your personal details and email address. After that, you may have to verify your account by clicking the link in an email you’ll receive from the bookie.
  3. Set up your preferred payment method – Most bookies usually support more than a dozen payment methods for both deposits and withdrawals, with the most popular being PayPal, Skrill, credit cards, and cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin). Make sure that your chosen bookie supports your preferred payment method because otherwise, you won’t be able to place any bets.
  4. Do your research on Mobile Legends – If you aren’t familiar with the Mobile Legends esports ecosystem, we suggest researching it to make potentially winning bets. Take a look at the competing esports teams and their past performances, as well as the players that form part of these teams. Hundreds of esports organisations from various countries have chosen to create teams that will compete in Mobile Legends esports, so naturally, this step may take some time. Still, it’s the only way to win your bets besides having to be slightly lucky.
  5. Place your bets – Once you’re done with the research and are content with your knowledge of Mobile Legends esports, you’re ready to finally place some bets! One word of advice: try not to go overboard in the beginning; place a bet or two and wait to see whether or not they’ve been successful.

M4 World Championship Betting Markets/Options

Since the M4 World Championship is such a large and prestigious event, there’ll be plenty of available betting markets to choose from. Here are the ones you’re most likely to find on any given bookie website:

  • Outrights: Outrights are one of the most popular betting markets due to their simplicity and potential for large winnings. However, they are also inherently difficult to get right because you place a wager on a team you think will win the entire event. On top of that, they usually aren’t available a day or two before the tournament and during it, so you’ll have to place your bets in a timely manner. Outrights are, in essence, a high-risk, high-reward sort of bet.
  • Match Winner: These bets are also incredibly popular because they’re simple, have a generally balanced chance of going through, and because betting on the underdog can be highly beneficial. However, on their own, match-winner bets won’t bring you large winnings seeing how the choice is just between two teams. Thus, most punters use the bet builder to create a betting slip containing multiple match-winner (and other) bets to increase the potential winning amount.
  • Most Kills: Simply put, here you’ll be betting on the player you think will get the most kills in the match. Certain bookies may even offer this sort of bet but with the most kills in the entire tournament instead of a single match.
  • First Blood: An excellent betting market with great odds and an average chance of getting the bet right. For this one, you’ll be betting on the player you think will get the first kill of the game.
  • Special Bets: Special bets are those that don’t belong in any other category and are unique in form as well as function. Some examples include whether or not the match will end prior to the 20th, 30th, 40th (and so on) minute, the total number of kills (Over/Under), and more.

What Is the Mobile Legends M4 World Championship?

The Mobile Legends M4 World Championship is the 4th iteration of the esports event and the biggest one to date. It’s also the only S-Tier tournament for Mobile Legends, and it takes place once every year.

Teams can qualify for the event by winning various A-Tier tournaments throughout the year or by winning qualifier tournaments that essentially seed wildcard teams. An interesting point about this event is that it has a dedicated hashtag/slogan — #DareToBeGreat, which isn’t often seen in esports.

Lastly, the M4 World Championship is the second iteration that features 14 days of competitive gameplay, compared to the first two, which lasted seven. This means there will be plenty of opportunities for betting and enjoying the matches themselves. We recommend watching live streams of the event in order to stay on top of the action at all times.

Let’s take a look at the specifics of this esports event:

Who Are the Favourites To Win?

Three of the 16 participating teams in the M4 World Championship are considered the favourites due to their past success and current performances. However, keep in mind that these are just our predictions and that there’s always the possibility of a dark horse winning the tournament.

Blacklist International

Blacklist International won the M3 World Championship after an incredibly successful 2021 campaign. The team competed in six tournaments (one B-Tier, four A-Tier, and one S-Tier) and finished ‘on the podium’ in all of them.

However, their 2022 performances haven’t quite been up to snuff, especially considering their group stage exit in the MPL Philippines Season 9 event. Nonetheless, Blacklist International have the pedigree and the players to keep hold of last year’s title and they definitely won’t go down without a fight.

Active Squad:

  • EDWARD (EXP Lane)
  • KEVIER (Jungler)
  • Wise (Jungler)
  • ESON (Middle)
  • Dex Star (Middle)
  • OHEB (Gold Lane)
  • Hadji (Roamer)
  • OhMyV33NUS (Roamer)

RRQ Hoshi

Many older Mobile Legends fans remember the dominance that RRQ Hoshi exhibited in 2018 and 2019. Out of the 12 tournaments they entered during these two years, the team finished outside of the top three in just one instance – MPL Indonesia Season 3.

RRQ Hoshi also achieved 2nd in the M1 World Championship after losing a tight Grand Finals match to EVOS Legends with a score of 3:4. They would also finish 3rd in the M2 World Championship in 2021.

The team is quite capable of coming out on top in the M4 World Championship, but they do tend to make mistakes in crucial moments. In any case, they still are one of the best Mobile Legends teams in the world.

Active Squad:

  • R7 (EXP Lane)
  • Banana (EXP Lane)
  • Alberttt (Jungler)
  • Clayyy (Middle)
  • Skylar (Gold Lane)
  • VYN (Roamer)
  • Lemon (Flex)

TODAK

TODAK’s biggest success when it comes to the Mobile Legends World Championships is placing 3rd in the inaugural event in 2019. Sadly, they haven’t been strong enough to challenge for the top tournament positions. They did, however, manage two 2nd-place finishes in the MPL Malaysia Season 7 and MPL Malaysia Season 8 tournaments.

However, it seems that the team found new footing in 2022 seeing how they started the season on a high by winning the MPL Malaysia Season 9 event. On top of that, TODAK came 2nd in MPL Malaysia Season 9, so they’re definitely doing something right.

Chances are high that TODAK will, at least, achieve a high finish in the tournament, and some believe they can even challenge for the title. We’ll have to wait and see!

Active Squad:

  • Momo (EXP Lane)
  • 4Meyz (Jungler)
  • Rival (Jungler)
  • Moon (Middle)
  • CikuGais (Gold Lane)
  • Yums (Roamer)

Where To Watch the M4 World Championship

You’ll be able to watch all the matches by visiting the official Mobile Legends M4 World Championship website (which has a convenient countdown timer to help you keep track of when the tournament will start).

Alternatively, the official Mobile Legends Twitch channel is also a great choice. Lastly, you may even be able to watch the action through a bookie website, based on whether or not they allow live betting. The choice is yours!

Summary

There’s no doubt that the Mobile Legends esports scene has become quite influential in the global esports ecosystem, and the M4 World Championship is evidence of that. So, whether you’re interested in Mobile Legends M4 World Championship betting or just watching the games and being entertained, this tournament is perfect to get you through the cold winter days ahead. Good luck and have fun!
