How To Start Betting on Honor of Kings International Championship

The easiest way to start betting on this HoK event is to use one of the available esports betting apps. Just follow the on-screen instructions, make sure you use your real personal information, and go through the initial deposit process.

It doesn’t matter if you’re not that tech-savvy – modern esports betting apps (or sites) will have everything explained to you. Their systems are catered towards the average Joe, so there should be no issues with setting everything up.

Once you’re done with that, you’ll need to find esports bets so you can start wagering on Honor of King International Championship 2022. To do so, navigate to the esports betting section, scroll down until you find HoK, and then click to open up the markets. Of course, this process will vary slightly depending on which bookie or app you’re using.

From that page, simply click on the bets you’d like to place, select your choice and enter the stake you’d like to invest. That’s it – all you’re left to do is to confirm your selection and that’s it.

HoK International Championship Betting Markets

Unfortunately, even though Honor of Kings has solid viewership and a massive player base, the game’s esports betting community isn’t that huge.

It’s therefore not enough to prompt proper coverage from the biggest real money esports bookmakers out there. And while that doesn’t mean you won’t have any Honor of Kings bets to explore, you won’t see extensive coverage packed with specials and futures like you’d expect from the biggest CS:GO betting markets or similar esports spectacles.

So, what sort of bets can you expect for this one? Well, the following should be available.

Match Winners

No need for lengthy explanations here – this market allows you to place a bet on the team you think will win the given match. That’s all there is to it; nothing more and nothing less!

Outright Winners

The premise of outright winner bets is practically the same as match winners but with one distinctive difference. You see, you are not betting on a single match here; you are betting on the entire tournament. So, say you place an outright bet on Wolves, it means they have to win the entire tournament for your bet to go through.

That’s pretty much from HoK International Championship betting markets. We might see some match-related specials later on in the playoffs, but that’s about it, we’re afraid…

Which Teams Are Taking Part in HoK International Championship?

Even though there’s not that much time left till the opening matches, we still don’t know all HoK IC participants. The full list will consist of 16 teams, but we only know of the following at the moment:

  • Wolves
  • Estar Pro
  • FUT Nova
  • Isurus
  • RED Canids
  • YaLLa Esports
  • DRG.GK / Weibo
  • XYG / TTG

Phase 1 Qualifier will bring us two additional participants. Gank will be playing against Weibo, while Xianyou will be going up against Talent. These matches are scheduled for November 25th so make sure you don’t miss them.

Tournament Overview

As mentioned earlier, we’re looking at a $10 million event here. It starts on December 3rd and is going to feature two phases. It’s also worth mentioning that KPL teams will be competing from Shenzhen, whereas non-KPL teams will be doing so from Seoul.

The group stage starts on December 3rd and will run through December13th. It will consist of four groups with four teams in each. Each group will contain one KPL seed team, one Global seed team, and two non-seed teams.

As for the format, we’re looking at a double round-robin group stage, with matches played as best-of-twos (with draws being a possibility) coupled with global pick/ban rules. Points distribution will work like this:

  • Three points will be awarded for a 2:0 win
  • One point will go to each team for a 1:1 draw
  • Zero points will be awarded for a 0:2 loss

The playoffs, on the other hand, will be played as a single-elimination bracket with all matches scheduled for best-of-seven clashes.

Tournament Schedule

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the official tournament schedule. Match-to-match start time is yet to be announced. It’s understandable, though, seeing as there are still three weeks until kickoff.

What we do know are the starting dates for both phases of the tournament. The group stage will kick off on December 3rd, while the playoffs are scheduled to start on December 13th. There will be a three-day break in between the two phases.

HoK International Championship Predictions

If we’re measuring teams by their quality and success over the last few years, then Wolves are definitely at the top spot. Led by Fly and ChenYang, these guys are absolutely brilliant.

Despite an early exit from the HoK Challenger Cup in late September, Wolves are still the first name on the team sheet. We’re talking about the undisputed KPL Champions (winners this summer and runners-up this spring) and the current HoK Champions Cup title holders.

eStar Pro are right behind them. Alan, HuaHai and the rest are not to be taken for granted; they’re in splendid form right now and are likely to be the bookies’ favourites coming into this tournament.

They’re coming here following a great campaign on the HoK Challenger Cup just last month. They did lose 4:2 to Volves in the King Pro League Summer, but they had won the Spring iteration 4:0,  so we reckon they won’t mind that loss too much.

Weibo and Talent are expected to get through the Phase 1 Qualifiers and form the top four title contenders’ spots ahead of Honor of Kings International Championship 2022.

Where To Watch Honor of Kings International Championship 2022

For those of you who would like to watch this tournament, you’ll be happy to know there will be livestreams available on YouTube and Chinese streaming services, like Huya and DouYu. While official broadcasts will be in Mandarin, you can count on several unofficial streams being in English too.

Honor of Kings is one of the most lucrative mobile esports titles right now. The HoK International Championship features a whopping $10 million in prize money, $3.5 million of which will go to the winning team.

Besides match-winners, esports bookmakers are bound to provide additional betting markets for this event. We’re mostly referring to outright winners, though we wouldn’t be surprised to see some specials in the mix as well.

This year’s iteration of the HoK International Championship starts on December 3rd and will run through December 30th. It’s going to be a proper month-long spectacle, that’s for sure!
