Current Games Dota 2 – SLTV StarSeries 2014:

The 10th iteration of the Star Ladder Star Series started last August 15, 2014 and the lan finals will be on October 26, 2014. For the first time in the 10 seasons there are now 4 sub-divisions for the season, that means more teams are participating and more games for the ticket that you just bought. 8 teams will be qualifying for the lan finals that will be held in the Cyberarean at Kiev, Ukraine. 4 teams will be coming from the European bracket, 2 teams from the Chinese bracket, 1 team from the American bracket and 1 team from the South East Asian bracket. The two Chinese qualifiers backed out of the lan finals due to security concerns in Ukraine. They have been replaced by two European teams. The teams that have qualified are:

South East Asian qualifiers

The lan finals in Kiev, Ukraine will be divided into two brackets and two stages. The first stage would be a single round robin, best of 1 matches for each of the brackets. It would determine the seeding for stage 2 of the playoffs. Stage 2 would be a double elimination, best of 3 match. The top 2 seeds from each bracket would form the winners bracket and the bottom 2 seeds will be forming the losers bracket.

The initial prize pool is at $80,000, as with the other tournaments. The prize pool will increase each time a ticket is sold. As of October 3, 2014, the prize pool is at $261,515. Also $40,000 of the prize pool will be used to cover the teams travel expenses. The prize pool distribution is as follows:

2nd place – 20% – $16,000

3rd place – 14% – $11,200

4th place – 8% – $6,400

5th to 6th place – 4% – $3,200

7th to 8th place – 2.5% – $2,000
