Super People is a brand-new free game that has sky-high expectations. It’s your typical battle royale game, although it’s trying to be as unique as possible. There’s one thing that it definitely does have up its sleeve, and that's a lot of hype.
How come? Well, back in its closed beta days, the game had over 4.3 million active players on Steam (that’s HUGE!) But the numbers have dropped significantly since then and Super People is trying to get a second life post-release.
The biggest characteristic that separates Super People from other battle royale games, like Fortnite and PUBG, is the fact that it has classes – kind of similar to the Legends from Apex Legends. Different classes serve various roles and have different abilities, depending on the character’s task. It’s an interesting twist, but one that we’ve already seen.
Even though the game doesn’t have an active esports betting market just yet, once it fully develops, the biggest esports betting apps are bound to have the following.
Live bets on esports events are no longer a scarcity. Pretty much all notable games have live betting coverage and if Super People develops into a big title, we can rest assured it will have them too. In other words, while there are no live esports bets on Super People as yet, this could change sometime next year.
This is the most basic type of bets. All you have to do to win a match-winner is to predict who’s going to win the match. But, since this is a battle royale game, there are lots of players in a single match and any one of them could end up being the winner.
Betting on battle royale match-winners is a lot more difficult than betting on conventional 1v1 or 5v5 (team A vs team B) esports. That said, pick your poison wisely!
Futures are always the first bets you’ll see, no matter what tournament you’re looking at. We often get futures odds long before we even know the first-round matchups. For those of you unfamiliar with how real-money esports bets work, futures are bets that focus on the outcome of the whole event.
The most popular future is the outright winner bet. The goal is simple – guess which team will win the match.
Specials are often found on the biggest battle royale esports such as Fortnite and Apex Legends. We’re talking about match duration, player with most kills, player vs. player kills, and similar. There’s something for everyone in this department, that’s for sure.
Unfortunately, this game still doesn’t have a fully-developed competitive structure. And while there are no professional teams just yet, with several players climbing up the ranks, we might see some partnerships form in the coming weeks and months.
But we can’t say there’s no competitive Super People action at all. We’ve seen several minor tournaments thus far, each with an open-invitation system that allows players from all around the globe to prove their worth.
The first Super Tournament and Orbit Series 2 are the perfect examples. They’re actively hyping up the game’s esports scene, which could be huge in the grand scheme of things. There were lots of other tournaments (some with cash prizes of $20,000) in the beta, but now that the game is officially out, we’re bound to get some more.
Are you up for the challenge? The SUPER Tournament: ORBIT Series 2 begins Nov. 4, ongoing for 2 weeks. Major tournament format changes include: – FPP only for EU, NA, SA, SEA regions – SOLO/TRIOS modes (one, two-man squads available in TRIOS)https://t.co/D2r1G4HnoA pic.twitter.com/nvk8zfVsBP — SUPER PEOPLE (@playsuperpeople) November 3, 2022

Undoubtedly, if the game’s player base continues to grow, we’re bound to see Wonder Games drop one or two tournaments with proper cash prizes. It probably won’t happen by the end of the year, but early 2023 seems like a solid guess.
When talking about pro Super People players, a few names jump to mind. We’re talking about the players who’ve played and performed at some of the biggest beta events thus far.
How much have these players earned by playing Super People thus far? Well, not much, really. But that’s likely to change if the game lives up to the hype and moves from being just another battle royale to a fully-fledged BR esport.
Even though the game is still in its early stages (having only been out a month), we have to admit there’s a fair share of potential. But we won’t get ahead of ourselves here; it wouldn’t be the first time we saw a promising battle royale only to crumble under pressure a couple of months after the release date.
Although Super People’s gameplay is interesting, it might not be that different to what some of the biggest battle royales out there possess. Plus, it’s still not perfectly polished, and unless the developers commit to a hefty crunch, the players won’t be appreciative for much longer.
Remember, the game’s closed beta had over 4.3 million players on Steam. These days, the numbers are a lot lower. We’re talking roughly 30,000 peak players over the last 24 hours with an all-time peak of just over 47,000.
These numbers aren’t bad, however, they need to rise significantly for the bookies to notice Super People's esports betting potential!
While Super People esports potential does exist, we’re afraid the same can be said for virtually all other brand-new battle royale games. All of it will boil down to the game's popularity in the next couple of months.
If it explodes by the end of the year, we’re likely to see the first big esports tournaments in the first or second quarter of 2023. If it doesn’t, Super People will become just another battle royale game with a one or two year life span. And that’s the harsh reality of the current esports scene.
The minimum amount for Super People esports betting slips varies from one bookmaker to another. On most platforms, the bare minimum is $1 or $2, though some bar their esports sections behind $5 minimum bets.
Even though we’ve had several “bigger” tournaments thus far, we couldn’t find any bookmaker that featured Super People betting odds. But, as time goes by and the game’s popularity keeps on increasing, bookies are bound to experiment with their markets.
Super Tournament: Orbit Series 2 is the perfect example of a major esports event in Super People. But it’s not a massive event. It’s already live and it will go on for two whole weeks. There are no cash prizes, though, only in-game currency rewards in the form of gold and diamonds.
If there’s an ongoing event, you’re most likely going to find it on Twitch. The platform’s interface can be a bit confusing for beginners as it’s easy to get lost. To prevent that, simply head on over to the Super People Twitch directory and you’ll see all live streams in one place.
If you can find Super People betting odds, go ahead and bet on them. However, there’s still no proper competitive structure in sight for this game. It’s an up-and-coming project that hopes to develop its scene into a fully-fledged esports behemoth. There’s a long way to go, though.
