ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 kicks off where fnatic looks to defend their title as champions against previous runner-up Cloud9 along with the top teams EU and NA has to offer. There will be 24 teams competing for the $500,000 prize pool. The 24 teams will be split into two divisions corresponding to their region which are NA or EU. The matches will be played in a round robin, home/away system, where each time will face each other twice, of best of 1 matches. The 12 teams in each division will compete for a $125,000 prize pool and the top 4 teams of each division would advance to the LAN finals to be held in Los Angeles for the remaining $250,000 prize pool.

Fnatic will have a new roster this tournament with Markus ‘pronax’ Wallsten stepping down and acquiring now ex-Gamers2 player Dennis ‘dennis’ Edman. Now former dignitas player Philip ‘aizy’ Aistrup will replace ‘dennis’ for Gamers2 leaving dignitas shorthanded.

Top 4 EU teams – Team SoloMid (54 pts), fnatic (51 pts), Natus Vincere (42 pts) and Team EnVyUs (42 pts)

Top 4 NA teams – Team Liquid (54 pts), Luminosity Gaming (48 pts), Conquest (45 pts) and Counter Logc Gaming (42 pts)
