Bet365 – eSports betting site review / experience report

Here you will find the personal experiences from our editor Florian “Dontwakeme” with the eSports betting provider Bet365. Florian has been involved with since its beginnings and has been involved with conventional sports betting and poker for over 15 years. Although he has been playing computer games for a long time, it was not until the launch of League of Legends that the eSports fever really caught him.

I placed my first eSports bet at Bet365 in February 2014, shortly after the old established betting provider from England added bets on eSports to their betting program. I had created my betting account with the bookmaker many years before, but of course the new eSports betting program, especially the odds for the League of Legends matches of the LCS, were especially interesting for me. Now at the end of 2017 / beginning of 2018 I use my betting account more than ever before, especially since the bookmaker has expanded the betting markets with special bets such as: Which team gets the first Baron or First Blood. At the latest LoL World Championships, Bet365 had almost the biggest eSports betting offer of all major betting sites. Beside my favorite game there is of course also a whole other series of games for which odds are offered. I have provided a small overview for you here:

eSports markets at Bet365

During my last visits I was able to find bet365 betting markets for the following eSports games:

At the beginning, the betting program for eSports was still relatively well hidden on the Bet365 website, but due to the growing interest in the various games, you can now find the betting markets in the top menu on the left side of the betting site's website.

I have contacted Bet365 in early 2014 to find out more about the plans of the online betting site regarding eSports and got the information that eSports betting will form now on be offered on a permanent basis. Since then we are in constant contact with the sportsbook in order to provide you with first hand news and to keep this review up to date at any time. At the moment the bookmaker is offering odds for the League of Legends LCS Season 8 | 2018 Spring Split + other LoL leagues, a lot of CS:GO tournaments and leagues and last but not least the main Dota 2 and SC2 events. And yes of course: all the major events like the League of Legends World Championship 2017, the 2017 LoL All-Star or the TI7 (The International 2017) of Dota 2 are also featured. Since the introduction of the eSports market the featured leagues and tournaments are increasing constantly. With the start of the 2017 season, Bet365 has made a big step by introducing the biggest special bets market for the League of Legends LCS.

What I particularly appreciate about Bet365:

Personally, I am particularly impressed by the many deposit options and the fast withdrawal of Bet365. Also, the fact that I have not yet been charged for any of the payment methods I use (Visa, Bank Transfer, Skrill and Paypal) is quite a rarity in the betting business. Even when I had my winnings paid out I have never been charged any fees for the transactions.

What can be said about the odds?

To my mind, it is important when choosing a suitable betting provider that you do not only pay attention to the amount of the bonus, but also whether the offered odds can keep up in comparison to the odds of other betting sites. Of course, I didn't check every single provider daily, but during my research Bet365 always had odds in the top third of the bookmakers I looked through. I can't complain about my choice!

My experience with the bookmaker's support:

Until now, I've only had to contact support once or twice in all these years. However, it was about questions about the casino games offered and not about problems with the betting program or payment transactions. When contacted, the support staff (I prefer to use the offered live chat) was always very attentive, friendly and able to answer my questions within a short period of time.

Player Security / Betting license

Of course player security is a big part of choosing the right eSports bookmaker. Bet365 was regulated and licensed by the Gambling Commission in Great Britain. The license number of the online betting site was: 000875. In 2014 the bookmaker acquired a betting license from Gibraltar. The service on the website is now regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner (License number: RGL 075).

My rating of eSport betting provider Bet365:

I give Bet365 a clear 5 out of 5 stars for its eSports betting markets. As I said before, I have been placing bets on this betting site  for more than 10 years and since 2014 also increasingly for various eSports games. Up to now, I have never had a bad experience, which I can't necessarily say for other providers. The settlement of bets and payments always works flawlessly and the odds are always top-notch in comparison. The mobile version of the website has a clear layout too, so that it is very comfortable to place a bet via mobile phone. I would say: For all those interested in betting on eSports leagues and tournaments, Bet365 is definitely worth a shot!
