It’s been a slow week in the LCS Summer Split from a news perspective, though the games are exciting as ever. Teams this week have decided that they don’t need to change things around too much, which can be interpreted as a good thing because it means (at least implicitly) that their game plans have worked out so far. No huge roster changes or changes to the game have been made, though there were still a few instances of players joining new teams, and some surprising turns of events (read more below).

Keithmcbrief joins TSM as their new substitute AD carry
Team SoloMid have had a great performance in the split so far with a win to loss ratio of 8/2. The team has showed us what they’re made of more than a few times and has dominated the field not just this season, but last season, as well. Their motivation, discipline and unbreakable spirit even when the circumstances seem dire have kept them afloat so they have always managed to inspire and entertain us. Now Yuri “Keithmcbrief” Jew joins as the new substitute AD carry of the team after his successful tryouts. Jason “WildTurtle” Tran is doing well enough to remain the titular for now, but Keith is getting the chance to prove himself this Saturday as he will be the one playing. He remains questionable on Sunday, but if he does well enough it’s entirely possible that he will be the one trying to carry his team to victory.
Hai will be starting jungle instead of Meteos
This just in, Hai “Hai” Du Lam – chief gaming officer of Cloud 9 is to start jungle this weekend. The traditional jungler for C9 – William “Meteos” Hartman won’t be playing, sources say. We’re still waiting for more information about what the reasons for this decision are. There is still no official information, but once we find out something new, we’ll keep you posted, as always.
Copenhagen Wolves YoungBuck and Unlimited step down from starting roster, replaced by Lenny and jesuiskaas
Copenhagen Wolves haven’t had the best performance this season, so they’re trying to swap things around and see if that works. Joey “YoungBuck” Steltenpool steps down from the top lane, while Petar “Unlimited” Georgiev steps down from the support role. They will be consequently replaced by Lenny “Lenny” Uytterhoeven and Christophe “je suis kaas” van Oudheusden. We’ll see if the changes improve the team’s chances in the upcoming battles.
