Schedule and Results – 2018 LCS NA Spring Split Week 4

At last, Team SoloMid was able to beat back in the North American LCS and conquer their first victories – the five outstanding players harmonize better from game to game and could even dominate the playoffs again in the Spring Split 2018. The players of Team Liquid have a tough week ahead of them, with Cloud9 and Echo Fox are two dangerous opponents awaiting on Summoner's Rift. However, Doublelift and his team-mates will be able to secure the top spot of the standings with two possible victories.

NA LCS Spring Split 2018 – Week 4 | Day 2

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 Fly vs C9Match #1: FlyQuest NA LCS 2018 Team Logo FlyQuest vs. Cloud9 Team Logo Cloud9

February 11th, 2018: 02:00 PM PST / 05:00 PM EST / 23:00 CET

Prediction: Cloud9 is unstoppable at the moment, all players perform at the highest level. Licorice stood out in particular on the first day of play, when he managed to kill the former C9 top laner impact in 1v1 several times. FlyQuest will have little to counter this and can only hope not to fall too far behind in the early game. I clearly expect a 0-1 victory for Cloud9.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 GGS vs 100Match #2: Golden Guardians NA LCS 2018 Team Logo Golden Guardians vs. 100 Thieves 100 Thieves NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

February 11th, 2018: 03:00 PM PST / 06:00 PM EST / 00:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: I agree with the bookmakers' opinion and see the 100 Thieves as clear favourites. For the team around Ryu and Co, the lead of the standings is close at hand, the playoffs are almost reached. The Golden Guardians can only try to present themselves as well as possible to show that they are willing to improve. I therefore expect a 0-1 victory for 100 Thieves.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 TSM vs CLGMatch #3: Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2018 small Team SoloMid vs. Counter Logic Gaming Team Logo CLG DreamHack Montreal 2017

February 11th, 2018: 04:00 PM PST / 07:00 PM EST / 01:00 CET (the next day)

All eyes are focused on the top game of the day, the eternal duel between Team SoloMid and Counter Logic Gaming enters the next round. For years, these two teams have been fighting each other in the title race called NA LCS, and TSM recently won the North American championship twice in a row. But this season is the most difficult one for them for a long time, the changeover to the best-of-1 and changes in the roster have already caused four defeats for the team. Particularly painful was also the game against Clutch Gaming on the first matchday of this week, where TSM had already gained a big advantage, but a stolen Baron Nashor (mystic shot from Ezreal at 36 HP) was the turning point. MikeYeung in particular has to be criticized after this match, because apart from his insecurity about neutral objects he could not have great impact in team fights and didn't achieve any sucessful gank. However, you can't underestimate Team SoloMid as a unit, and even Counter Logic Gaming will have to give everything to keep up.

Prediction: I think that TSM's defeat on the first day of the week was unlucky and the team would probably have won in a best-of-3 overall. For the duel on the second day with Counter Logic Gaming, this means that both teams have a good chance of winning. However, I expect a comeback and a 1-0 victory for Team SoloMid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 TL vs FoxMatch #4: Team Logo Liquid Team Liquid vs.  Echo Fox Team Logo Echo Fox NA LCS 2018 small

February 11th, 2018: 05:00 PM PST / 08:00 PM EST / 02:00 CET (the next day)

Team Liquid was particularly disappointing on the first matchday of this week. After a few good weeks of dominant games in which TL sometimes even won within half an hour, they were then put in their place by Cloud9 and had to watch their Nexus disintegrate into pieces after exactly 30 minutes of play. The performance of Top Laner Impact was anything but worth seeing in this game, against his replacement at C9 he couldn't do much in 1v1 situations and got solo killed several times. Echo Fox plays at a similar level to Cloud9, but is much more dependent on their Top Laner Huni. In the defeat against Counter Logic Gaming it became clear that Echo Fox is not invincible either. Before the first matchday Team Liquid was still easy to favour, but meanwhile most people tend to a win for Fox. Maybe the time for the veterans Impact and Doublelift is soon over, the latter had to take a break from the competitive League of Legends one time or another already. But it could be much worse, the odds of Liquid's winning NA playoffs still look very good, and that's where they'll really decide which team is the best in North America.

Prediction: After the staggering defeat against Cloud9, confidence in Team Liquid has been noticeably weighed down. However, I don't think the team will be overwhelmed by this failure, and together they will analyse the mistakes of the first matchday and prepare for the match against Echo Fox. I therefore expect a 1-0 victory for Team Liquid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 OpT vs CGMatch #5: Optic Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo Optic Gaming vs. Clutch Gaming Clutch Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

February 11th, 2018: 06:00 PM PST / 09:00 PM EST / 03:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: Clutch gaming has moved into the spotlight a little more after the first matchday's victory this week against Team SoloMid. On Mid Lane, this duel will include two former EU LCS players clash as Febiven will face PowerOfEvil. I am impressed with CG's performance in the last few weeks and I expect to see a 0-1 victory for Clutch Gaming.

NA LCS Spring Split 2018 – Week 4 | Day 1

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 TSM vs CGMatch #1: Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2018 small Team SoloMid vs. Clutch Gaming Clutch Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

February 10th, 2018: 02:00 PM PST / 05:00 PM EST / 23:00 CET

Prediction: Team SoloMid is already on its way up after a perfect week, with Clutch Gaming now waiting for a tough opponent to beat. Although CG's games so far have not been without chances, there are hardly any weak teams in NA LCS in this split, so Clutch will probably take a few losses and not participate in the playoffs. I expect a clear 1-0 victory for Team SoloMid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 C9 vs TLMatch #2: Team Logo Cloud9 Cloud9 vs. Team Liquid Team Logo Liquid

February 10th, 2018: 03:00 PM PST / 06:00 PM EST / 00:00 CET (the next day)

The top game of the day takes place between Cloud9 and Team Liquid. Although Liquid has performed well so far, C9 probably is the favourite. The bookmakers were clearly on their side at the beginning, while the odds are now relatively balanced. I estimate that the two teams are close to the same level, as Doublelift, Pobelter and Impact have so far been of great service to Liquid. For Top Laner Impact, this encounter is of particular importance because the South Korean was previously on contract with Cloud9 for numerous splits and will now meet his replacement Licorice, who is of course eager to prove himself. There is no getting around the focus on the Top Lane at the moment anyway, because due to the meta we see offensive champions like Gnar, Gangplank or Camille in practically every game, who are always looking for support from their jungler to gain an advantage and accelerate the game. On Bot Lane, on the other hand, two veterans meet each other, because Doublelift has been playing in NA LCS since 2011 while Sneaky has been playing there since 2013. The duel on Mid Lane also promises League of Legends at the highest level, because while Jensen has long been considered one of the best in the West, Pobelter shows since this split that he has not deserved to be in the shadow of Bjergsen and Jensen any longer.

Prediction: Even though Cloud9 hasn't made big mistakes so far and is still one of the top teams in North America and has a good chance of making it to the final of the Spring Playoffs, although Team Liquid in a best-of-1 is sure to be able to leave the rift victoriously. I therefore expect a 1-0 victory for Team Liquid.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 OPT vs CLGMatch #3: Optic Gaming NA LCS 2018 Team Logo OpTic Gaming vs. Counter Logic Gaming Team Logo CLG DreamHack Montreal 2017

February 10th, 2018: 04:00 PM PST / 07:00 PM EST / 01:00 CET (the next day)

Whoever thought that Counter Logic Gaming would throw their hands on the back of the neck after the disgraceful start with three consecutive defeats and give up on hope, was seriously mistaken. The winning streak that followed is all the more impressive as even the big favourite Echo Fox could be beaten. The relief was noticeable in all members of CLG and Riot even played a soundtrack in the replay of a solo kill, where Top Laner Darshan yells into his headset:”Huni is my f*cking b*tch”, which could also mean a penalty for the player because of unsportsmanlike behavior. Nevertheless, one notices the self-confidence on the part of CLG, with which they also want to score points in the next few games. OpTic Gaming on the other hand is one of the weakest teams in North America. There is still no synergy between the players and one has to ask oneself slowly whether the roster in this composition can stay together for a long time. After the Spring Split at the latest, the organization must intervene and fix some weak points, including support LemonNation, who unfortunately has to spend too much of his time in front of a gray screen. The most exciting duel between CLG and OpTic is on the Mid Lane, as many still expect PowerOfEvil to finally step forward and carry his team.

Prediction: Even though predictions for a best-of-1 can only be made with some caution, I expect a clear case in favour of CLG. Especially their team performance during the split didn't leave much to be desired. I expect a 0-1 victory for Counter Logic Gaming.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 100 vs FLY

Match #4: 100 Thieves NA LCS 2018 Team Logo 100 Thieves vs.  FlyQuest FlyQuest NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

February 10th, 2018: 05:00 PM PST / 08:00 PM EST / 02:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: The 100 Thieves are still in a good position in the NA LCS table and can expect to participate in the playoffs. FlyQuest, on the other hand, did not manage to turn up again in the last few weeks after their victory against TSM and now have to orientate themselves at the bottom of the table. I expect a 1-0 victory for the 100 Thieves.

NA LCS 2018 Week 4 Fox vs GGSMatch #5: Team Logo Echo Fox NA LCS 2018 small Echo Fox vs. Golden Guardians Golden Guardians NA LCS 2018 Team Logo

February 10th, 2018: 06:00 PM PST / 09:00 PM EST / 03:00 CET (the next day)

Prediction: Another clear encounter awaits us at Echo Fox against the Golden Guardians. The latter still do not have a single win on their account and have little hope of winning in the upcoming weeks. I expect a clear 1-0 victory for Echo Fox.
