|EU LCS Spring Split Predictions – Quick Navigation
EU LCS Spring Split Week 10 – Day 4:
April 2nd, 08:00 AM PDT/ 11:00 AM EDT/ 17:00 CEST
Splyce have been pushing their way through Group B of the EU LCS but their run is up, their position in the group is set in stone. The same goes for H2k though, with UoL taking their most recent victory the contesting of 1st place is out of the way! There’s not much behind this series other than a few additional points or securing a better score regionally, at least for H2k! But who will come out on top? Tune into the series when it goes live on Sunday, April 2nd, to find out!
Splyce – SPY have had weeks of strong performances, they’ve been undefeated since week 8 and are aiming for a 3rd week to add to their streak! During week 7 they lost to G2 Esports but had shown great strength when they managed to contest the series. If they can do that against a top team there’s no reason they can’t do it again!
H2k – H2k have been less consistent than Splyce in recent weeks but losing to the top team in their group isn’t much of a negative. Other than that single loss they’ve constantly pushed against their opponents and created fantastic opportunities to thrive. This series could solidify their position above MSF regionally so they’re going to want to pressure!
H2k appear to be at an advantage here but it’s not by a significant amount. Splyce have constantly shown off their improvements and have really been pushing through the group in recent weeks. They burst into fantastic performances and haven’t let up, they’re continuously pressuring their opponents and they won’t let H2k gain advantages easily. H2k will need to keep an eye out for early pressure; they’re more likely to thrive in the middle and later stages of the game so building strong lines of vision early, throughout the river or close to their lanes to avoid jungle pressure. Splyce will want to pressure as immediately as they can, doing so will likely force H2k into playing in an uncomfortable state, making them more likely to make mistakes!
Prediction: H2k Victory. Splyce are definitely going to put on strong performances and will cause a hard time for H2k, but seeing as H2k have forced their way into a stronger position on the ladder for the majority of the split and have yet to drop I think they’ll stick it out and come out on top of their last series of the split!
April 2nd, 11:00 AM PDT/ 02:00 PM EDT/ 20:00 CEST
Misfits have looked trouble lately, they were originally performing really well but in recent weeks they’ve had a hard time taking a series. Even when performing against teams placed below them they’ve struggled to contest or take a series. Fnatic have been lacking consistency but they’ve been performing well enough to take victories and contest series victories, will they force themselves into an equal score with Roccat? Tune into the series on Sunday, April 2nd, to find out!
Fnatic – FNC may have lacked some consistency in recent weeks but at least they’ve been performing on a strong enough level to take down their opponents, even if only in individual games. They’re still managing to impact games in some way and I think they’re going to give MSF a hard time! If they can push forward here they will be able to equalise their series score with Roccat too!
Misfits – MSF are stuck in their position in their group now so there’s not much for them to lose, but depending on how well H2k are able to performing they could be looking to equalise their score on a regional level. They’ve been on a bit of a downward spiral since week 7 and could have a tough time here, but can they pull through for their last series of the split?
Misfits would appear to have an advantage here but it’s questionable how significant it is, if it’s significant at all. They’re sitting on a better series score, with 8:4 in comparison to the 5:7 of FNC, and also maintain a better individual game score than Fnatic, with an 18:10 compared to the 15:18 of Fnatic. So their statistics definitely support the fact that for the overall split they’ve been performing better, but in recent weeks they’ve been unable to have much of an impact at all! Fnatic have at least contested a few series, even against stronger teams! This is definitely going to be an entertaining series and I think we’re going to see it go back and forth quite a bit!
Prediction: Misfits Victory. There’s not much on the line for Misfits here and Fnatic will be pushing to equalise their score with Roccat but I support the statistics that Misfits hold here! They have had stronger overall performances, have maintained a better individual game score and even though they’ve had a harder time in recent weeks it’s been against teams that are pushing forward fast. I think they’ll perform well against Fnatic and come out on top!
EU LCS Spring Split Week 10 – Day 3:
April 1st, 08:00 AM PDT/ 11:00 AM EDT/ 17:00 CEST
Team Vitality don’t really have anywhere to go, their current position in Group B of the EU LCS is 4th place and the 3rd place team, Splyce, is sitting above them with an addition 4 victories. They’re relatively safe in their position however if they manage to take down UoL they’ll open up opportunities for H2k! Can the Unicorns of Love hold out? Tune into the series when it goes live on Saturday, April 1st!
Team Vitality – VIT are locked into their position in Group B. They’re sitting with a total of 3 series victories and scraping a 4th here won’t change their position on the ladder. It’d be a nice way to end the split, but there’s not much for them to lose. If they manage to make a few power plays during this series they could be doing H2k a huge favour though!
Unicorns of Love – Their position in the group is still being contested but this will be the last series that the Unicorns of Love team performs in for this round-robin part of the split. They’ve got their eyes on the playoffs now and if they can secure the 1st place they’ll be significantly better off!
Unicorns of Love are at quite a clear advantage here, they’re the 1st place team in their group and they’re sitting leaps ahead of Team Vitality. They’ve taken a total of 10 series victories, which is more than 3 times what Team Vitality have achieved, and their individual game score is 21:8! In comparison to VIT, UoL have shown a great ability to adapt, significantly better consistency and much more potential. Team Vitality have often struggled and this became apparent during week 7, when they lost their series to Roccat without putting up much of a fight! With nothing to lose, I’d like to see Team Vitality play more aggressively and take those risks! They could find amazing opportunities during the earlier and middle stages of the game that, if take with confidence, could set them up for the series!
Prediction: Unicorns of Love Victory. Unicorns of Love are leaps ahead of Team Vitality. Even if VIT are performing at their best and UoL are having a bad day I think UoL will still find a way to come out on top. This could end up being a contested series but I’m confident the adaptions and strategies of UoL will secure them their position at the top.
April 1st, 11:00 AM PDT/ 02:00 PM EDT/ 20:00 CEST
Roccat should not be underestimated, they may be sitting in 4th place in Group A of the EU LCS but they’ve not dropped a series in many weeks. Since the mid-split break they’ve come back significantly stronger and have yet to let up. They’ve taken down teams that are sitting by the top of the group and I think they’re going to challenge G2 here. Can G2 hold onto their undefeated title? Tune into the series when it goes live on Saturday, April 1st, to find out!
G2 Esports – Still remaining an undefeated team, G2 Esports continue their streak! They’re yet to let any team take them down and with this being the final week of the split it’s likely they’ll end as an undefeated team. They shouldn’t underestimate Roccat though, their streak has been formidable and G2 will need to handle with care.
Roccat – ROC are proving to be a difficult team, their start to the split was fairly abysmal but ever since the short break around the middle of the split they’ve been extremely difficult to overcome. They’ve been taking down team after team and it looks like they want to be the 1st team to take down G2 Esports!
G2 Esports appear to be at quite an advantage here but I wouldn’t put it past Roccat to have a strategy devised for this particular series. Roccat have the opportunity to push past Fnatic in their group so they’ve definitely putting their all into this! G2 Esports are comfortably in 1st place and that’s not only in their group, they’ve got the strongest match history and series score in the entire region! They’ll still need to watch out though, they might want to build an earlier line of vision to track ROC and gain information, and this will give them relative safety as they play to their strengths. Roccat will want to try to play with vision too, keeping it around their lanes and using ward removal to build jungler access. If they pressure the lanes in the earlier stages of the game they could quickly starve the economy of G2 and get a lead for themselves!
Prediction: G2 Esports Victory. I think Roccat are going to put up a surprisingly strong fight during this series but with how well G2 Esports have been performing for the entirety of the series I doubt they’re going to start faulting now. They’ve shown great confidence, strategies, adaptions and consistency! All of these factors will carry them to the end of the split, with them remaining undefeated!
EU LCS Spring Split Week 10 – Day 2:
March 31th, 09:00 AM PDT/ 12:00 PM EDT/ 18:00 CEST
Origen are yet to take a single series victory and it’s way too late in the series for them to create any sort of impact, they can however damage the standings for H2k! They could come into this series fairly care-free, playing with major amounts of aggression and risk or they could stick with their standard strategy, but how well has that worked so far? We’ll find out on Friday, March 31st, so catch the games when they go live!
Origen – Having yet to take a single series victory and sitting in the final week of the EU LCS has this team a little damaged when it comes to morale. They were fairly hyped up at the start of the split and they’ve had phenomenal performances in previous seasons, what changed? Hopefully they can channel some of that potential and go out with a bang!
H2k – H2k have been putting on some strong performances but are still lacking a little in their consistency, they were able to take down Misfits during week 7 and they did so in a clean series; quickly losing to UoL in the following week without putting up a fight! If their consistency dips they could give Origen too many opportunities!
H2k are very clearly at an advantage here, even if their consistency is a little off it shouldn’t change the fact that they’re sitting with a staggering 8 series victory advantage and are holding onto 18 individual game victories, in comparison to the 2 of Origen. Origen are definitely backed into a corner here, but this could be a great opportunity for them to show some strength, play with some confidence and find those aggressive movements that could propel them ahead. It’s not as if they’ve got much to lose at this point and they could definitely make this series outstanding!
Prediction: H2k Victory. Even if Origen plays with exuding confidence, aggression and strong strategies I don’t think they’ll be able to compare to H2k on individual player skill levels. H2k have proven to have more potential, better performances and apparently more skill too! Because of this I think they’ll be pretty clear series victors!
March 31th, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST
Giants have put on very few strong performances and are currently sitting at the bottom of their group, but at least they’ve proven that they’re not the weakest team in the region! Sitting with only 2 series victories means Giants are a bit stuck as to where they can climb as this is the final week but this series could still impact Misfits, if we’re making regional comparisons! Who will come out on top? Tune into the series when it goes live on Friday, March 31st, to find out!
Giants – GIA are holding onto 8 individual game victories, that’s very close to Team Vitality’s score, from group B, but unfortunately a lot of the GIA game victories have been misses opportunities because they were unable to follow them up with series victories. With GIA back into a corner I think they should play with astounding aggression and really throw Misfits off.
Misfits – Sitting on 7 series victories leaves Misfits in a bit of a situation, they’re unable to push forward because G2 are sitting too high up in the group and they’re unlikely to fall in their group ladder because they’re quite a few victories ahead of the other competing teams! The only comparisons to Misfits are teams performing in the other groups, so I guess they’re going to want to put on a show and flaunt their formidable strengths!
Misfits look to be at a very clear advantage here; they’re sitting in the 2nd place of their group and have only dropped a total of 4 series. They’re sitting on a healthy 7 series victory score which is nearly four times the amount that Giants have. Along with this they’ve taken a formidable 16 individual game wins which is double what Giants have managed! Giants are definitely in a spot of bother here but with little on the line I’d like to see them shake things up, try and force Misfits into uncomfortable positions and force some of that aggression. There’s nothing for them to lose at this point in the split and they could definitely put on one hell of a show, maybe they’ll finally show us their true potential!
Prediction: Misfits Victory. MSF have definitely proven to be the stronger and more reliable of the 2 competing teams! They’ve taken significantly more victories, have shown a great ability to adapt and have also managed to prove their strength over a lot of other competing teams. One of these other teams is Giants, and I think MSF will take this series fairly confidently.
EU LCS Spring Split Week 10 – Day 1:
March 30th, 09:00 AM PDT/ 12:00 PM EDT/ 18:00 CEST
It’s the final week but as many of the competing teams in the EU LCS are sitting close to their opponent’s on the ladder there are still many changes that can happen! Splyce are sitting in 3rd place on the ladder but could still take addition wins to shake things up, Unicorns of Love will be looking to solidify their 1st place position in group B. Will UoL find safety? Tune into the series when it goes live on Thursday, March 30th, to find out!
Splyce – SPY have only dropped a single series since week 7, that series was against the strongest performing team in the region, G2 Esports. Splyce have consistently taken down teams that are placed below them and have regularly contested their matches against the top teams, can they take down Group B’s 1st place team though?
Unicorns of Love – UoL are sitting on the top of their group but things remain close between them and H2k. Dropping a series could have series impact for them so they’ll be looking to take this in a relatively clean manner. Splyce are bound to put up a fight but UoL haven’t dropped a series since week 6, the odds favour them.
Unicorns of Love are definitely at an advantage here but with Splyce showing off their improvements it might not be as big an advantage as you’d assume at first glance. Splyce last lost a series during week 7 against G2 Esports, Unicorns of Love last lost a series during week 6 against Misfits. Splyce managed to put up a fight, or a struggle, against G2 Esports in their series and had shown fantastic improvements whereas when UoL lost it was quick and painful. With Unicorns of Love sitting ahead on the ladder and performing consistently in the last few weeks it’s hard to see how Splyce will break through their defences; but with Splyce performing better than ever we can’t count them out!
Prediction: Unicorns of Love Victory. The Unicorns of Love team have made some minor but noticeable improvements of their own, this has definitely improved their individual game consistency in more recent weeks and I think it’ll play a big role in them coming out on top of this series.
March 30th, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST
We’re in the final week of the EU LCS and G2 Esports still remain undefeated. They’re yet to drop a series and haven’t shown much fault in their play, they’ve not been improving as quickly as some of the other teams but have still been taking steps forward to stay on top. Fnatic are middle of the pack, sitting in 3rd place in their group. FNC really need this win to stay ahead of Roccat this week, but can they pull it off? Tune into the series when it goes live on Thursday, March 30th, to find out!
G2 Esports – G2 Esports have managed to stay on top of every single series they’ve performed in this split. They remain an undefeated team and have only dropped 5 individual games, considering it’s out of 27 that’s a phenomenal win-rate to hold. They’ve not made quick improvements like a lot of the other performing teams but they’ve done enough to stay on top, will it continue to be enough though?
Fnatic – FNC have had their issues during this split, they’ve had some shocking performances both positive and negative. Fnatic went many weeks without being able to take a victory but luckily during week 9 they clawed their way on top of their series against Giants; it wasn’t easy though. If they’ve not made many quick improvements they could be looking at a change in their position in the group by the end of the week.
G2 Esports are very clearly at an advantage here, they’re undefeated and have consistently performed on a top level. They’ve only dropped a few individual games, 5, and in comparison to Fnatic’s individual game losses, 16, G2 are looking like absolute titans. Fnatic are going to need to play with patience, a controlling style with early vision will keep them safe but unless they take a few risks during the earlier stages of the game they’re unlikely to find a lead to propel them ahead. During the middle stages of the game they’ll need to pick their own fights using quick engagements and superior vision, aiming for a player advantage. G2 Esports have shown that they’re stronger in many aspects of the game but if Fnatic can break it down and play step by step they’ll open up their options significantly.
Prediction: G2 Esports Victory. Unfortunately for Fnatic, G2 Esports are still undefeated and with how strong and consistent their performances have been it’s unlikely that they’ll lose a series to a team that’s been struggling for weeks now. Fnatic have been having trouble against teams at the bottom of the ladder, it’s unlikely they’ll take down the top team.
