Teams – EU LCS 2018 Spring Promotion
Four teams will meet in a double elimination bracket played over two weeks. The format for all matches at the tournament remains the same – Bo5 (best of five). The losing team from each of the first series will battle one another in a loser’s bracket. On the other hand, winners will fight in the winner’s bracket. The team that wins both series is in EU LCS for 2018 Spring Split while the team which loses two games is relegated to the Challenger series.
Who will compete?
Four teams will compete in the Promotion Tournament this year. Let’s see who they are:
Giants Gaming have launched their first LoL squad in 2012. They started an all-Spaniard roster at first, but add more players from different countries in recent years. The team members are:
- Top – Antonio “Th3Antonio” Espinosa Bejarano
- Jungle – Erberk “Gilius” Demir
- Mid – Gun-Woo “Night” Na
- Bot lane – Amadeu “Minitroupax” Carvalho
- Support – Jakob “Jacktroll” Skurzynski
FC Schalke 04 before the beginning of the 2016 EU LCS Summer Split FC Schalke, 04 bought Elements’ seed in the league. During this time, the team pretty much remained the same. It is also important to mention that Schalke has sports teams since the 1900s and this particular team is their effort to spread to esports with the same name as in many other sports. Team members are:

- Jungle – Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi
- Mid – Marc “Caedrel” Lamont
- Bot lane – Elias “Upset” Lipp
- Support – Tore Hoel “Norskeren” Eilertsen
Ninjas in Pyjamas after a few years of absence, Ninjas in Pyjamas finally returned to the EU LCS and now they have the chance to participate in Promotion Tournament as well. Here are the players who will represent this team:
- Top – Junhyung “Profit” Kim
- Jungle – Ilyas “Shook” Hartsema
- Mid – Sang-Moon “Nagne” Kim
- Bot lane – Martin “Heaq” Kordmaa
- Support – Hampus “Sprattel” Abrahamsson
Mysterious Monkeys formerly Misfits Academy, Mysterious Monkeys qualified for the EU LCS at the 2017 Promotion Tournament. At this year’s events they are considered underdogs, but one thing is for sure – you can never write a team off in any LoL competition. Team members are:

- Jungle – Maurice “Amazing” Stuckenschneider
- Mid – Sofyan “Cozq” Rechchad
- Bot lane – Florent “Yuuki60” Soler

Format and Schedule EU LCS Spring Promotion 2018
Promotion Tournament is set to start on Thursday, August 17, at 17:00 CEST or 5PM. The first fight of the event will occur between Mysterious Monkeys and Schalke 04.
The next day, Friday, August 18, we’ll see the clash between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Giants Gaming.
All matches will be broadcasted on the official LoL Esports website. The broadcasts will be available in different languages including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Hungarian, and Serbian.
The schedule for the upcoming EU LCS Promotion Tournament has been released. All teams are versatile, have different styles and approaches to their battles so it will be interesting to see who’s going to EU LCS Spring Split in 2018 and who will be relegated to the Challenger series.
