It was a bombastic event – last two weeks the esport scene was focused on the largest e-sports tournament in 2013, the TI3 “The International” .So far the biggest Esport event of the year, but the League of Legends Championships 2013 will start in autumn and may will claim this title back. The big winners of the tournament are Team Alliance from Sweden. The e-sports team from the north not just won the biggest Dota 2 tournament, they can also get about 1.4 million Dollars for the first place. The finale of TI3 took place on Sunday the 11.08.2013 held in Seattle and was reportedly seen worldwide by over one million people in online streams, such as Twitch or on the Dota 2 Steam client.Valve was able to attract a wide audience with The International, which is also a sign of a constantly growing e-sports scene.
TI3 Final: Alliance vs. Na’Vi
Team Alliance gets the first place and more than 1.4 million dollars in prize money.
Although Team Alliance won the first match in the best of 5 series, it looked quite bad after the first 3 games. As team Na’Vi won both Game 2 and Game 3, Team Alliance were in arrears with 1:2 – another defeat would mean the end of the dream. Although The Alliance was a high favourite of the analysts for betting odds, they withstood the pressure and managed to win the two remaining matches. The final was definitely pure tension.
