This news came out of nowhere! This news really did come out of nowhere. There was basically nothing leading up to it. Despite all that, there are still many questions related to Fnatic's latest public announcement in which they stated that they will make drastic changes to their CS:GO team. Needless to say, this came as a shock to everyone because there were not that many bad results leading to this decision. It is still pretty unclear the main reason behind this, but there are rumors that, in the last couple of months, there have been many issues inside the team and that there are some problems which can't easily be dealt with. Keep in mind that we will inform you about more of this in the upcoming week.
This is the official statement by Fnatic:
One of the things inevitable in this world is the certainty of change, and for Fnatic CS:GO team that day has come. Today, we will see the end of an era and the start of a new one as we announce the departure of JW, flusha and KRIMZ. There is much to explain, so please read on for the full story. (fnatic.com)
Did Fnatic make a good decision with this trade?
Well, this is actually a very subjective question. In order to give a proper answer, we will have to take a look at what exactly happened in the trade.
As we already stated above, a 3 for 3 trade was made featuring Fnatic and Godsent. Fnatic gave flusha, Krimz and JW in exchange for Godsent's wenton, twist and Lekr0. This doesn't sound good on paper for Fnatic who, clearly, gave out better players. Flusha, Krimz and JW won major tournaments together and one thing is clear – former Godsent's players will have a tough time replacing them.
What does all of this mean for Fnatic?
They will surely have a tough time getting back to its former glory after this drastic roster change. There are already a couple of polls available online, deciding if fans think Fnatic will have a successful upcoming season. Without any doubt, the most popular answer is – not by a long shot! Flusha, Krimz and JW are world-class players and truth be told, Godsent now looks to have better chances of being a top tier team than them. Despite all this, we will have to wait for the first next big tournament and hope that these teams face against each other. That will be an awesome match to watch, for sure!
But then again, who knows. Perhaps wenton, twist and Lekr0 together with flusha and dennis make a great impact on the pro scene Perhaps they even do greater things than Fnatic's earlier roster. This has happened many times in the past and we don't see any reason why it would not happen this time out again… Now let's see the current rosters of both team and how they measure up against each other.
Current rosters of both teams
Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer
Dennis “dennis” Edman
John “wenton” Eriksson
Simon “twist” Eliasson
Jonas “lekr0” Olofsson
Markus “pronax” Wallsten
Andreas “znajder” Lindberg
Jesper “JW” Wecksell
Robin “flusha” Ronnquist
Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
Now that you know more about the rosters, tell us your opinion on all of this. We are wondering if you think Fnatic is going to do as well as they did last two seasons… Or if you think that their new roster will fail miserably. Another interesting thing is – who do you guys think had the better deal? Fnatic or the obvious – Godsent? Which of these 6 players will have the most impact on the upcoming CS:GO tournaments? Which one of these 2 teams will prove to be better?
