The most exciting League of Legends tournament of the year is but a week away and we can’t be more excited (well, we can, and will be once it’s finally upon us, but you get the point). The version of the client that’s going to be used for the World Championship has also been around for a few days and has given players the chance to catch up with it. The pros are having a blast with it right now and in all fairness, the patch is enjoying all the attention it’s getting.

Patch v5.18 – The LoL Worlds patch
The patch doesn’t introduce too many grand changes to a single champion, but implements many different changes to a variety of champions. The overall idea is to make the meta more diverse for the World Championship. After all, we don’t want to see the same picks and bans every game and we definitely don’t want to see the same plays and strategies. No one cares about Worlds: Groundhog Day Edition. We want to see as many different things as possible and this is exactly what Riot is giving us with this patch. Options is the name of the game.
