NA LCS Spring Split Week 4 – Day 3:

Echo Fox vs. Team SoloMid NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #1: Team Logo Echo Fox NA LCS 2017 Echo Fox vs. Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2017 Team SoloMid

February 12th, 12:00 PM PST/ 03:00 PM EST/ 21:00 CET

Echo Fox had an outstanding set of performances against Counter Logic Gaming on Week 4 Day 2 and have been steadily improving; they’ve started to make the necessary improvements to climb the ladder. Team Solo Mid managed to take a commanding victory over Team Envyus but against a bottom place team it wasn’t much of a challenge, will they be bested by Echo Fox? Find out when the games go live on Sunday, February 12th!

Team Logo Unicorns of Love EU LCS 2017Echo Fox – FOX have been making improvements and it’s starting to finally show. Their improvements were slow but expected, their early game strengths continue and their improvements have made their middle and later stage performances more formidable, will it be enough to catch up to TSM though?

Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2017Team Solo Mid – After taking down NV, TSM are now sitting in 3rd place on the ladder with an admirable 6:1 series score. This means they’re tied with FlyQuest and could be looking to push into 2nd place, however FOX have been looking stronger. TSM are going to need to watch out in the earlier stages of their games if they’re looking to take the next step forward.

Team Solo Mid appear to be at an advantage here but if they’re unable to maintain their early game the series could quickly turn against them. Team Solo Mid are going to want to build a strong line of vision across the river and close to their lanes during the earlier stages of the game, this will let them adapt a more passive style where they can scale to their strengths, it will also open up opportunities for them to catch out rotating opponents. This’ll help them solidify a lead and gain control of the map. Echo Fox are going to want to use their early strength to their advantage here, they’re going to want to try and gain dominance over the TSM jungle. Shutting out the TSM jungler will relieve a lot of pressure for the FOX lanes and will also make team fighting around the middle stages of the game significantly easier. Doing this will help them play to their strengths as well as covering their weakness, opening up great opportunities to pressure and gain control over their games.

Prediction: Team Solo Mid Victory. TSM are adaptable, they’ve already shown this to us. They’re not phenomenal at adapting throughout a series but for individual games they do well. I think they’ll be able to control the early aggression from FOX and will gain control during the middle game team fights, setting them up to control objectives and gain control of the games; leading them to victory.

Team Dignitas vs. Team Envy NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #2: Team Logo Dignitas NA LCS 2017 Team Dignitas vs. Team Logo Envy NA LCS 2017 Team EnVyUs

February 12th, 03:00 PM PST/ 06:00 PM EST/ 24:00 CET

Now this is going to be a match to watch, both teams are sitting at the bottom of the ladder with a 1:6 series score. Only one of these teams can take the additional step forward but both of them are in desperate need of it. Team Dignitas have a stronger appearance in individual games but NV has shown that they can put up at least a bit of a fight. Who will become the victor? The games go live on Sunday, February 12th, so catch them to find out!

Team Dignitas Logo NA LCS 2017Team Dignitas – Sitting in 9th place isn’t so bad here. They’re ahead of their opponents by a small margin but that small margin could play a big part here. They’ve shown great strength in individual games and that’s why they’ve got a total of 5 games under their belt in comparison to the 3 of NV, this could be their opportunity to step away from the ladder’s danger zone.

Team Logo Envy NA LCS 2017Team Envyus – For NV to take a higher position on the ladder they’re going to need to take this series, their opponents are only in the position above them and have hardly looked stronger. Team Envyus will still be in a dangerous position if they take the series so improvements will be necessary for now and for the future.

Team Dignitas appear to be at a minor advantage here, their individual game performances have been stronger and they’ve been able to contest more series’ than NV. Team Envyus are back into a corner here, they’re going to need to play risky, aggressively and try to force Team Dignitas into split second decision making or into horrendous positions. This can be achieved by building aggressive vision and catching out opponents or creating numerous quick engagements in which Team Dignitas will need to respond rapidly. This could set NV up to take map control, and then it’ll just be down to their macro management to take the games. DIG is going to need to play around the early game; they don’t want NV to build an early lead so they’ll need to set up a strong line of vision around the NV jungle entrances and across the river. This will aid them in creating their own advantageous skirmishes as well as giving them important information on how NV will pick their fights. DIG can use this to separate the NV team members and pick them off or use player rotations to create advantages in other positions on the map. This can slow down the pace that NV wants to play at and will give control over the DIG.

Prediction: Team Dignitas Victory. DIG has shown more strengths than NV, they’ve been able to contest a lot more games and series’ as well. I think this’ll play a fairly important role during this series as they’ve shown some ability to adapt; they’ve just been lacking an ability to execute late game strategies.

Counter Logic Gaming vs. Phoenix1 NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #1: Team Logo CLG NA LCS 2017 Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Logo Phoenix1 NA LCS 2017 Phoenix1

February 12th, 12:00 PM PST/ 03:00 PM EST/ 21:00 CET

Counter Logic Gaming took a pretty rough hit on Week 4 Day 2; they went into a series against Echo Fox and were unable to take a single game away from them. This means that this series will only be more difficult for them, as P1 sits in a stronger position on the ladder. P1 have shown weakness, but will CLG be able to exploit it? Catch the games when they go live on Sunday, February 12, to find out!

Team Logo CLG NA LCS 2017Counter Logic Gaming – CLG were definitely a shadow of their former selves on Week 4 Day 2, they were unable to control many aspects of the games that they were performing in. As the week progresses and other weeks come CLG will need to improve on their strategy and adaption if they want to continue their climb into a stronger position on the ladder.

Team Logo Phoenix1 NA LCS 2017Phoenix 1 – P1 took a pretty rough hit of their own on Week 4 Day 2, they felt to FlyQuest and were unable to put up much of a fight. They also lost their series without taking a single game. Phoenix1 are going to want to climb back up and this is their chance to do so, they’ll need to have their weaker points covered because they were just made significantly more obvious.

Phoenix 1 is definitely at an advantage here, their performances have been stronger across the board and they’ve shown some ability to adapt throughout a series. Both teams recently took pretty rough hits but it was worse for CLG. Counter Logic Gaming are going to need to take advantage of the slightly weaker early game of P1, they’re going to want to use their middle laner and jungler to pressure the lanes and try to gain some earlier objective control. This could set up some good skirmishes where they hold an advantage, essentially setting up their later team fighting with a gold lead. Phoenix1 are going to want to hold onto their lanes, watch for rotations from CLG with some deep vision and they’re going to need to find the time to scale. Their stronger points are in the middle stages of the game where they’re able to use their sporadic engagements; this could quickly throw CLG into a bad position and give P1 exactly what they need to close out the games.

Prediction: Phoenix 1 Victory. CLG just took a rough hit, a hit that’s made them look like a team that can be taken advantage of. Phoenix 1 will know how to take advantage of the weaker points of CLG and if P1 can maintain a healthy early game I think they’ll be able to get through this series with some degree of comfort.

FlyQuest vs. Cloud9 NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #2: FlyQuest NA LCS 2017 - Logo Fly Quest vs. Team Logo Cloud9 NA LCS 2017 Cloud9

February 12th, 03:00 PM PST/ 06:00 PM EST/ 24:00 CET

The highlight match of the week, FlyQuest are compiled of a lot of ex-Cloud9 team members and even helped to train them to be as good as they are. FlyQuest have a lot to prove during this series as they’re currently the 2nd place team and are barely sitting behind C9. Cloud 9 is going to want to show why they’re the top team, but can the students beat the masters? Find out when the games go live on Sunday, February 12th!

FlyQuest NA LCS 2017 - LogoFlyQuest – With a lot of their team members being from the original C9 line-up gives them a lot of insight into this series. They’ve also shown that they’re a highly skilled team willing to put everything they’ve got into every series that they play. This series is going to be close, but will the advanced strategies of FlyQuest push them forward?

Team Logo Cloud9 NA LCS 2017Cloud 9 – C9 were often trained and taught by a few of the FlyQuest members, this means that they’ve got some insight of their own. Cloud 9 is yet to be defeated and if any team can take them down it’s FLY. So they’re going to need to pay close attention here, FLY have had a few weaknesses exploited before and C9 can use these to their advantage.

It’s a close call on who’s at an advantage here. FlyQuest have dropped a series, as surprising as that may have been, but they’ve still got a lot going for them. They’ve had a weak performance from time to time but their overall game play has been phenomenal. This is reflected by C9, without having lost a single series, but both teams have taken the same amount of losses. FlyQuest have shown greater performances in individual games but Cloud9 have shown greater adaption through their series performances. This means that FLY are going to want to play game-by-game, to their strengths and with some odd-ball strategies whilst Cloud 9 are going to want to play through the series in a more adaptive manner. This series isn’t only about individual games; it’s about what team will take the top position. Cloud 9 have a weaker late game than FLY but their stronger early game could set them up nicely, FLY will want to work towards a late game in which they control key points on the map.

Prediction: FlyQuest Victory. FlyQuest are the OG C9, with the amount of insight that they have I think they’re heading into this series with a slight advantage; although it is only minor. I think this is going to be an extremely close series with some very clutch moments, but the later game shot calling from FLY will carry them through.

NA LCS Spring Split Week 4 – Day 2:

Counter Logic Gaming vs. Echo Fox NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #1: Team Logo CLG NA LCS 2017 Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Logo Echo Fox NA LCS 2017 Echo Fox

February 11th, 12:00 PM PST/ 03:00 PM EST/ 21:00 CET

CLG are currently tied with 2:4 series victories and they’re sitting in 6th place around a multitude of teams, they’re having difficulty pushing up the ladder and there’s good reason for it. Some of their strategies have been outstanding whilst others have crumbled easily. Echo Fox hold the same amount of series victories but have had weaker overall performances, this is their chance to push forward; but can they? Tune into the games when they go live on Saturday, January 11th, to find out!

Team Logo CLG NA LCS 2017Counter Logic Gaming – With 6 game wins they’re looking fairly strong, they’ve lost 8 games though and weren’t able to put up much of a fight during a lot of them. They’re going to need to regain control of their strategies, they’ve used a lot of potential strategies in the past and a lot of them could shine now.

Team Logo Unicorns of Love EU LCS 2017Echo Fox – They’ve got the same amount of series victories as Counter Logic Gaming and have shown great potential so far this split. They’ve been able to contest many games and series’ against teams considered stronger than them and they’ve done so because of their strong early game pressure. Their shot calling has been letting them down but with minor improvements they could cause great difficulty for their opponents.

Counter Logic Gaming would appear to be at a slight advantage here, but not my too much. Echo Fox’s biggest issue has been closing out games where they’ve previously been in control. They’re lacking an ability to adapt to their opponents but this might not be too much of an issue against Counter Logic Gaming, as CLG don’t often play around with their strategies. Echo Fox are going to want to continue their rampant pressure during the earlier stages of the game, as it’s often led to them getting a lead. Their middle and late game is where they’ll need to focus on improvements, their shot calling has been lacking and their objective control has been easily broken, if they can gain more control over it they’ll pose a larger threat. Counter Logic Gaming should pick up an oldie but goodie, a split pushing strategy that utilizes their top lane for pressure and their bottom lane for control. This will give them fairly early safety and great opportunities during the later stages of the game.

Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming Victory. Counter Logic Gaming have appeared to be the more consistent of the 2 performing teams and although they’ve not changed their strategies up much so far they’ve certainly got some useful ones in their arsenal. I’d like to see them utilize those other strategies but even without them I think they’ll come out on top of this series.

Team SoloMid vs. Team EnvyUs NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #2: Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2017 Team SoloMid vs. Team Logo Envy NA LCS 2017 Team EnVyUs

February 11th, 03:00 PM PST/ 06:00 PM EST/ 24:00 CET

Team Envyus are in an extremely difficult position right now, they’re at the bottom of the ladder and have hardly been able to put up fights during the series’ that they’ve played in so far. They’ve taken a single series, which is admirable, but have a total of 10 lost games. Can they bring it back and start climbing once again? Find out when the games go live on Saturday, February 11th, to see if they can!

Team Logo TSM NA LCS 2017Team Solo Mid – TSM haven’t been as consistent in comparison to their previous and recent splits. They’ve got a great history when it comes to taking series victories, holding onto a total of 5 wins to 1 loss, but they’ve done so whilst also losing a lot of individual games. They’ve always lost a game during the series that they’ve played in, this seems like a small issue at the moment but it’s definitely holding them back.

Team Logo Envy NA LCS 2017Team Envyus – NV are backed up against a wall here, they need to unleash anything and everything they’ve got now. We’re hitting the middle of the split and they’re still sitting at the bottom of the ladder. They’ve shown some potential, but potential isn’t enough to grant them victories. They’re going to need to start pushing forward now to avoid any repercussions.

Team Solo Mid is definitely and undeniably at an advantage here, they hold a significantly stronger position on the ladder and have been pumping out greater performances. That doesn’t mean NV doesn’t stand a chance though! Team Solo Mid hasn’t been able to take a clean series yet; they’ve always managed to drop a game. If NV can take a game early in the series they’ll be in a much more comfortable position to work with their strategies. They can play around with early aggression but I think they’ll want to adopt a more reactive play style; working with vision and catching out their opponents. This can work wonders for them around objectives during the middle and later stages of the game. TSM are likely to stick with what they know, working with their bottom and middle lane to build a lead; working towards those later game team fights and controlling objectives with a lead.

Prediction: Team Solo Mid Victory. TSM have shown more and have proven themselves on a larger scale. Sure, they’ve lost a lot of individual games; but when it comes down to it they’ve been taking the wins. They’re going to want to try to adapt throughout the series, in a more comfortable way, if they want to strive for a clean series; which I think they will achieve here.

Phoenix1 vs. FlyQuest NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #1: Team Logo Phoenix1 NA LCS 2017 Phoenix1 vs. FlyQuest NA LCS 2017 - Logo Fly Quest

February 11th, 12:00 PM PST/ 03:00 PM EST/ 21:00 CET

FlyQuest have shown immaculate skill so far, expectations for the team were fairly high because of their formidable and well known roster but who could have known they’d still be so outstanding? Phoenix1 have brought some surprises of their own, they’ve also got a packed roster and have caused trouble for so many teams already, will they continue on this path as they climb? Catch the games as they go live on Saturday, February 11th, to find out!

Team Logo Phoenix1 NA LCS 2017Phoenix1 – Although Phoenix1 have ran into some trouble during their games their overall performances have been strong. They’ve managed to snag 4 series victories whilst losing 2, in their series victories they took them without losing a single game, momentum and tempo definitely works in their favour.

FlyQuest NA LCS 2017 - LogoFlyQuest – The current 2nd place team, FlyQuest are in an extremely formidable position but are now heading into a difficult week. They’ve placed 2nd but have done so by beating teams that have found comfortable positions on the lower end of the ladder. Now the real tests begin and this week can significantly change their position on the ladder.

FlyQuest look to be at an advantage here, but it’s not by a significant amount. FlyQuest have proven to have a stronger early game along with great macro management and late game shot calling but they’ve fallen behind slightly with their mechanical skill and this could be detrimental during this series. Phoenix1 are likely to try a few aggressive moves during the earlier stages of the game to take a hold of a small lead but if it doesn’t work out or seems to risky they should adopt a more passive play style, their team fighting is extremely formidable and they’re often able to find opportunities to build their leads. This is how they’re likely to push ahead but FlyQuest have shown great ability to adapt, stall and even turn the tides of a game very quickly.

Prediction: FlyQuest Victory. FlyQuest have a more reliable early game, their risks seem more calculated and even if they fall behind they can put up one hell of a fight. With how well FlyQuest have been playing, with their shot calling and macro management across the map, I think they’ll be able to come out on top of this series through map pressure and key fights in the later stages of the games.

Team Liquid vs. Immortals
Match #2: Team Logo Liquid NA LCS 2017 Team Liquid vs. Team Logo Immortals NA LCS 2017 Immortals

February 11th, 03:00 PM PST/ 06:00 PM EST/ 24:00 CET

Both Team Liquid and Immortals are sitting on 2 series victories and 4 losses; only 1 team will be able to push ahead here. Will it be Immortals, who’ve often had rough early games but have managed to claw their way back with later game strategies? Or will it be Team Liquid, the team who’ve contested and taken games from the teams at the top of the ladder? Catch the games as they go live on Saturday, February 11th, to find out!

Team Logo Liquid NA LCS 2017Team Liquid – TL have been fairly inconsistent. One moment they’re able to take down CLG, contest their series against a top team and do so whilst showing great skill and potential and then the next moment they’re falling 2:0 repeatedly without putting up much of a fight. Their consistency needs to be improved if they want to push up the ladder.

Team Logo Immortals NA LCS 2017Immortals – Their weaker early game has been letting them down, they’ve often fallen into a deficit during their games but have miraculously clawed their way back through good strategy and team fighting. If they find that they’re having issues building a lead in the earlier stages of the game they should stick to their strengths, making magic happen during the middle and later stages.

On the ladder it would appear that Team Liquid is at an advantage however this is arguable. Immortals might have had weak early game performances but Team Liquid has been underperforming. TL will want to try and take advantage of the weaker early game from IMT, they can do this by using their jungler to build vision and pressure the lanes during the earlier stages of the game and then utilizing their middle lane to create advantageous skirmishes before the middle stages of the game. This will quickly open up objectives for them and could create a straight line for them to win. IMT will need to build a quick safety line of vision across the river during the earlier stages of the game, maintaining this could be difficult but it’ll be worth it. If they can make it to the middle stages of the game they’ll be able to use their superior control to build a lead and slowly work their way into the base of TL.

Prediction: Team Liquid Victory. I think they’ve got a few minor advantages that’ll keep them in the driver’s seat of this series. A weak early game from IMT can quickly work in favour of TL, snowballing a game works well for TL as they’ve shown that they know how to close out games. Their team fighting is on par with IMT and their objective control is slightly better, because of this I think they’ll take the series but will run into a bit of trouble on the way.

NA LCS Spring Split Week 4 – Day 1:

Cloud9 vs. Team Liquid NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #1: Team Logo Cloud9 NA LCS 2017 Cloud9 vs. Team Logo Liquid NA LCS 2017 Team Liquid

February 10th, 03:00 PM PST/ 06:00 PM EST/ 24:00 CET

Cloud 9 are still undefeated, they may have dropped a few individual games but their adaptions and consistency have kept them true, they aimed for the top and have kept their position in a formidable manner. Team Liquid is going to be challenged here, as the 5th place team, but there’s still a chance for them to come out on top. Will the underdogs rise? Catch the games as they go live on Friday, February 10th, to find out!

Team Logo Cloud9 NA LCS 2017Cloud 9 – Reaching this week in the split whilst remaining undefeated is extremely challenging, especially seeing as they’ve only dropped 2 individual games. Their win rate and match history are astounding as have their performances. Adapting and utilizing their strategies has pushed them to the top, can they hold on?

Team Logo Liquid NA LCS 2017Team Liquid – TL are holding onto their position on the ladder by a thread, they’re in 5th place and are only separated from dropping to 6th by a single loss. They need to try and pressure C9 here as much as they can, even if it means only taking a single win, if they want to hold onto their position. They’ll want to catch out the C9 adaptions and try to work around them in their own comfortable and consistent way, if possible.

Cloud 9 are undoubtedly at an advantage here, they’re undefeated and have shown great utilization of many different strategies. Their adaptions throughout their series played have been great; they’ve been able to hold off their opponents in a confident and comfortable manner. Team Liquid are going to need to throw them off, this won’t be easily achieved and early aggression might not work in their favour. If they can build a reliable line of vision throughout the river to protect them from any early C9 aggression they might be able to create a few advantages when earlier objectives become contested. They’ll want their jungler to make quick rotations for player advantages and their middle lane is going to want to scale significantly, needing protection to do so. Cloud 9 are going to want to single out the middle lane of TL and focus on pressuring as early as possible, they’ve got great vision control and it’ll play a large part in them getting advantages and finding opportunities around the middle stages of the game, this is how they’re likely to gain any advantages throughout the series.

Prediction: Cloud 9 Victory. Cloud 9 has been, undeniably, the stronger performing of the 2 teams. Their series performances have been phenomenal along with their individual player skill, I think their middle and late game shot calling will carry them through this series, TL might put up a fight though.

Immortals vs. Team Dignitas NA LCS Spring Split 2017 Week 4
Match #2: Team Logo Immortals NA LCS 2017 Immortals vs. Team Logo Dignitas NA LCS 2017 Team Dignitas

February 10th, 06:00 PM PST/ 09:00 PM EST/ 03:00 CET (next day)

Immortals are sitting barely ahead of Team Dignitas so this series could be significant for either team, if Immortals manage to come out on top they could push up the ladder past Counter Logic Gaming and Team Liquid. If Team Dignitas manage to claw the win away they’ll be looking at tying a position closer to the middle of the ladder. Who’ll take the steps forward though? Find out when the series goes live on Friday, February 10th!

Team Logo Immortals NA LCS 2017Immortals – Having taken down both Echo Fox and Team Envyus they’re in a position where their skill is going to be defined. Taking down Team Dignitas would solidify the fact that Immortals are a middle of the pack team and are ready to climb. Currently sitting with twice as many losses as their wins is rough, they’re going to need to start adapting more quickly and utilizing their strengths.

Team Dignitas – Team Dignitas had a few great performances at the start of the split and really gave a few teams some trouble, they’ve been able to take individual game victories but have been having trouble adapting as quickly as their opponents; this has stopped them from taking series wins. They’re going to need to utilize multiple strategies throughout their series if they want to keep the pressure on.

Immortals look to be at a very slight advantage here. They’ve seemed slightly more consistent and have shown minor improvements in their game and series adaptions. Team Dignitas are extremely close though and this is going to be a tough series. Team Dignitas has often had an extremely strong early game, if they can continue this pattern they’re going to want to quickly build vision in their opponent’s jungle to either pick off opponents or force their opponents into unreliable positions. This could open up opportunities for them to pressure objectives or find advantageous team fights, giving them an easier way to close out games. Immortals are going to want to hold out during the earlier stages of the game, vision in the river and close to their lanes will be needed as the DIG early pressure can be relentless. If Immortals can hold out I think their middle and late game shot calling along with more reliable team fighting could build them a comfortable lead to carry them through.

Prediction: Immortals Victory. Immortals have shown a larger variety of adaption, they’ve shown that if they fall behind they’re able to stall out games and come back. With Team Dignitas often having trouble closing out their games I think Immortals will have advantages during the later stages of the games, where they thrive, and it’ll open up the series for them to take.
