Preview and Predictions:

NA LCS Summer Split Week 8 – Day 3:

Day 3 is over and there were some really close calls, the Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Liquid series had me at the edge of my seat and Team Solo Mid finally got taken down! I hope more excitement comes out of the day 3 games. On day 3 we’ll be focusing on NRG Esports vs. Team Liquid quickly followed by Team Solo Mid vs. Team Envy. I chose these games because of the impact they can have on the ladder and the upcoming playoffs, make sure you catch the games live on Sunday, July 24th!

NRG Esports vs. Team Liquid NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 3 – Match #1: NRG Esports NA LCS Team Logo NRG Esports vs. Team Liquid NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team Liquid

Start Time: July 24, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Head to head record: NRG Esports 0:1 Team Liquid

Team Liquid is currently tied on the ladder with Counter Logic Gaming, to pull ahead they’re going to need to come out on top of this series and as the head to head winners they’re certainly in a position of confidence. NRG Esports have had a rough start to the week but had a pretty acceptable week 7; they could really throw TL off if they’re playing at their best.

Team Liquid is definitely at an advantage here. During their day 2 series against Counter Logic Gaming they were putting on some fantastic performances but fell short due to a mistake that quickly gave up the game. If they can avoid throwing the game around objectives they should certainly be favourable as they have the head to head, better performances throughout the split and are in a much better position to dictate the pace of the game.

NRG Esports NA LCS Team Logo LoLNRG Esports should try and aim for a similar composition as to what they used against Team Envy on week 7, they managed to perform extremely well with it and if they can stay consistent they’ll be able to give TL a lot of trouble. This means they should aim to pick up the Viktor in the middle lane, it has phenomenal presence in team fights and that’s how they’ll want to pull ahead. When paired with a fairly consistent Ashe and Braum lane, possibly Lucian, they’ll be able to cause huge disruption in the later stages of the game. The jungle player will find comfort on a champion such as Reksai who will be able to pressure the earlier stages of the game to try and get them ahead. This will be assisting their top lane, who has regularly used Maokai or Jax, to get them in a comfortable position. Once they’re loaded and on the rift they’re going to want to build an aggressive line of vision in the top lane whilst letting their bottom lane play aggressively with defensive vision. This will let them pressure the top lane with their jungler in the earlier stages of the game whilst letting their bottom lane rotate and siege the bottom and middle lanes. They’ll also want to hold a fairly extensive line of vision across the bottom side river to help keep their middle laner safe. To come out ahead of Team Liquid they’re going to want to get through the earlier stages of the game comfortably, not necessarily with a lead, and then engage team fights at critical moments. This will force Team Liquid in split second decision making and can throw them off in a similar way to their final match against CLG on day 2. With these team fights they’ll be able to build a significant lead and use it to pressure the base of TL, setting them ahead in the series.

Team Liquid - NA LCS Team LogoTeam Liquid performed well on their counter-split pushing composition and it paid off nicely for them even though they didn’t manage to come out on top of their series. They could follow a similar composition to come out on top of NRG through pressuring multiple points on the map and using the split NRG team to take favourable fights. For this they’ll want to pick up that strong scaling bruiser in the top lane such as Irelia or Trundle and assist it in the earlier stages of the game with a Reksai or Gragas. This could also give them good potential to pick off opponents and take those early game skirmishes. The middle lane of TL is going to want to be able to get through laning and have high impact in team fights to counter NRG, this can be achieve with a Cassiopeia or Azir. Team Liquid’s duo lane is going to want to pick something defensive with a lot of utility so, naturally, Sivir fits this extremely nicely when paired with a Sona or Karma. Once they’re loaded into the rift they’re going to want to try and balance their vision on the top side of the map with a mixture of aggressive wards in their opponents jungle and defensive vision in the river and close to the middle lane. To try and get ahead of NRG they’ll want to spend a significant portion of the earlier stages of the game pressuring the top lane, this will set them up nicely to create split pushing opportunities or to get a dominant flank for team fights. This should be able to create them a small lead along with giving them opportunities to rotate and siege. Along with this they’re going to want to take late game team fights, avoiding unfavourable positions. With a few of their preferred champions they’ll be able to create safe areas in which they will have a fighting advantage, especially in sustained engages. This’ll give them the lead they’re looking for to take down the base of NRG and come out ahead in the series.

Prediction: Team Liquid Victory. Team Liquid has proven that they’re improving. This means they’re in a very good position to take down the teams that have had unstable performances or an inconsistent split. NRG falls into this category, Team Liquid also hold the head to head along with a better standing position on the ladder. These are just a few of the reasons why I think Team Liquid is in an extremely favourable position to come out on top of this series.

Cloud8 vs. Phoenix1 NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 3 – Match #2: Cloud9 NA LCS Team Logo LoL Cloud9 vs. Phoenix1 NA LCS Team Logo Phoenix1

Start Time: July 24, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST

Head to head record: Cloud9 1:0 Phoenix1

Phoenix1 were able to achieve what no other team in the NA LCS has been able to so far, they took down TSM on day 2 and are looking significantly stronger with their current jungler performing on a phenomenal level. This should bring some fear to Cloud9 however they have been performing nicely recently; they were able to take down Team Envy on day 2 with an extremely clean series.

Prediction: Cloud9 Victory. Phoenix1 were able to get ahead during their series against TSM because of the use of their jungler, this will be fairly well matched against C9 who also have a very experienced jungler. I think they’ll be able to quickly adapt to situations and come out on top of them to take a victory and come out on top

Team SoloMid vs. Team Envy NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 3 – Match #3: TSM NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team SoloMid vs. Team Envy NA LCS Logo Team EnVy

Start Time: July 24, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Head to head record: Team Solo Mid 1:0 Team Envy

Team Solo Mid finally fell, to Phoenix1 of all teams, and is now hitting a difficult position as their 1st place standing has fallen and will continue to be challenged. Team Envy could capitalise on the recent loss of TSM and analyse it to figure out how to come out on top. This series could push Team Envy into a position where they can contest a higher position on the ladder so they’ll be pulling out all the stops.

Team Solo Mid still appears to be in an advantageous position but something was made clear during their day 2 performances. Trouble can quickly build for them if their middle lane is heavily pressures, they’ll need to overcome this otherwise Team Envy might exploit it to come out on top.

Team SoloMid NA LCS Logo LoLTeam SoloMid have a wide variety of champions and compositions they can build from so I expect to see some of their previous and more common champions make appearances, this means we’ll be seeing a Gragas in the jungle which will be assisting a Gnar in the top lane. The middle lane of TSM is going to want to try and draft something with defence or mobility so I’d like to see them utilize more Malzahar or Vladimir, both of which have phenomenal late game impact and presence in team fights. The duo lane for Team Solo Mid is likely to draft for utility and late game potential, a Sivir paired with a Karma or Sona is likely to bring them the greatest success. After locking and loading into the game they’re going to want to set up some defensive vision around their middle lane, it’s been shown to be one of their weaker lanes in the earlier stages of the game and can be abused to open up opportunities for their opponents, they’ll need to throw some early jungle pressure then along with extensive warding as to not have that lane exploited. They’ll also want to apply some pressure to the top lane to get them a slight lead in global pressure, this will open up more opportunities in the middle stages of the game to push a lead or gain advantageous team fights. During the middle and later stages of the game they’re going to want to play around objectives, fighting without purpose will only increase their chances of falling so making sure they work around the map, grow and extend their vision and create opportune fights is their safer way to go. They’ll want to try and snag an earlier lead for an easier time but it’ll be down to their macro management to come out on top and take a step up in the series.

Team EnVy NA LCS Team Logo LoLTeam Envy have shown a complex variety of possible champions and compositions but recently it’s not been panning out for them. They’ll want to pick up some of the things they used in Week 7 to gain an upper hand during this series. I’ll still be looking for that Sona pick as their support however; pairing it off with an Ezreal or Sivir can cause a significant amount of potency in lane and give them a formidable amount of utility for the later stages. Their top lane is going to want Gnar, which is a good pick away from TSM, and they could do well falling back onto a Shen if it’s not available. The middle lane of Team Envy is going to want to pick up something that can pressure easily or open up opportunities for the team, Malzahar could quite easily do this however it’s likely to be a contested pick and Viktor should be able to fill the role nicely if they can’t get their preferred champion. These solo lanes will be heavily assisted by an Elise or Reksai who will be able to impact those earlier stages of the game. Team Envy are going to want to have an early focus on the middle lane, getting aggressive vision across the river near their opponent’s jungle entrances, this will assist them in covering the majority of their lanes and will open up opportunities for them to find fights around the middle lane. TSM has shown that they can crumble when their middle lane is under pressure and that’s the opening that Team Envy will need. After pressuring the middle lane in the earlier stages of the game they’re going to want to set up some team fights around objectives, when in smaller spaces Team Envy should be able to find a few advantageous positions to crawl ahead in those fights, this will set them up to quickly take objectives or pressure the lanes to break into the base of TSM. This is how they’ll be able to pull ahead in the series and open up opportunities to come out on top of it.

Prediction: Team Solo Mid Victory. Team Solo Mid have had a weakness opened up and this could be exploited by Team Envy. This could make things difficult for TSM but I think with their previous track record along with their current standing they’ll be able to adapt and pull through for the series victory.

Echo Fox vs. Counter Logic Gaming NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 3 – Match #4: Echo Fox NA LCS Team Logo LoL Echo Fox vs. CLG NA LCS Team Logo LoL Counter Logic Gaming

Start Time: July 24, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST

Head to head record: Echo Fox 0:1 Counter Logic Gaming

Counter Logic Gaming were able to pull ahead on day 2 and take another series, this will set them ahead on the ladder and open up some really promising opportunities for them. Will Echo Fox be able to bring this into ruin? Echo Fox have been sitting in a trouble position for the majority of the summer split; sitting on a 1:14 score, they’re certainly going to need to rise up significant heights to come out on top here.

Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming Victory. Counter Logic Gaming are fairly consistent, have shown that they don’t tilt easily and are hardly affected by their mistakes. This means that even if Echo Fox manage to pull ahead CLG will be ready to continue the fight. Because of the head to head standing, current ladder standings and their recent performances I’m confident CLG will come out on top of this series.

NA LCS Summer Split Week 8 – Day 2:

The NA LCS has already kicked off with a few exciting series’ however I’m hungry for more! On Week 8 Day 2 we’ll be witnessing some of the most exhilarating games of the split as teams are fighting to climb before the split ends! For Day 2 we’ll be focusing on Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Liquid along with Team Envy vs. Cloud9. Make sure you catch the games on Saturday, July 23rd!

Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Liquid NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 2 – Match #1: CLG NA LCS Team Logo LoL Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Liquid NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team Liquid

Start Time: July 23, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Head to head record: Counter Logic Gaming 1:0 Team Liquid

These 2 teams are sitting closely on the ladder; only a single series separates them as Team Liquid is 1 up on Counter Logic Gaming. Both teams are fighting for those higher positions on the ladder but have very little time left to make the impact that they want. Counter Logic Gaming have looked a little inconsistent but have been able to come out on top of a lot of their recent series’; will the on form Team Liquid be able to take them down?

I’d give the advantage to Counter Logic Gaming, they’re a single series down and are sitting on a 7:7 compared to the 8:6 of Team Liquid however they hold the head to head record, have made a few obvious improvements and have been able to hold their own throughout a series even after mistakes and issues that they run into.

Counter Logic Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoLCounter Logic Gaming, in my opinion, should aim for their formidable split pushing strategy. They play the 1-3-1 style masterfully and it can really shut down opposing teams who are unable to keep up the pace. For this CLG are going to want to draft for a Gnar or Jax in the top lane, this will be assisted by a Reksai or Gragas in the jungle. The middle lane of CLG is likely to pick up a Viktor or Azir during this series; this will give them strong team fighting presence in combination with their other potential picks. CLG’s bottom lane has been extremely versatile and has adapted well to the opposing team, during this series I think we could be seeing a Sivir or Ezreal paired with a Bard or Karma. This will give them a significant amount of utility or potency in team fights; this will carry them through the middle stages of the game. Counter Logic Gaming are going to want to get an aggressive line of vision on the top side of the map, this will notify them of any incoming trouble to one of their most important lanes, it’ll also open up opportunities for them to apply pressure on that side of the map through ganking or counter jungling. After they’ve begun to secure the earlier stages of the game they can begin skirmishing, they could find advantageous skirmishes if they’re split pushing because they’ll be able to apply pressure to multiple points on the map; this is where their strategy starts to kick in. They’re going to want to control multiple points on the map with a significant amount of vision; this will assist them in picking off opponents, starting team fights with a flank from their top laner and also split pushing. During the later stages of the game everything will fall onto their macro management. They’re going to need to utilize the space on the map to find advantageous positions and catch out their opponents, they’ll be at a point where their team fighting could be explosive and quickly give them control of the game; this’ll open up the win and the series for them.

Team Liquid - NA LCS Team LogoTeam Liquid have worked extremely well with team fighting compositions and against CLG it can work extremely well, being able to force favourable fights can dismember the split pushing strategy that Counter Logic Gaming are likely to build. To do this TL are likely to draft a Vladimir or Azir in the middle lane, both of these champions have phenomenal team fighting impact and can be assisted fairly easily by a Reksai or Gragas in the jungle. Their top lane could pick up Rumble more as well, which gives them advantages in choke points and around objectives; unless they want to contest the split push, then they’ll consider Irelia or Trundle. The duo lane of Team Liquid has shown a recent preference for Jhin which could work well however I’d like to see them pick up Sivir and pair it with a Karma or Braum. Once they’ve loaded into the rift they’re going to want to get some defensive vision around their lanes and try to get a few deeper wards near their opponent’s jungle. This will let them keep their lanes safe through the earlier stages of the game as long as they don’t try to make any aggressive rotations, they’ll be able to reach the middle stages of the game with minimal loss to increase their potential impact. Around the middle stages of the game they’re going to want to start forcing fights, they’ll need to be the aggressors if CLG are pushing, if they play too defensively then they’ll be giving up a lot of pressure on the map. After the initial team fighting they’re going to need to expand their vision quickly around the highly contested objectives on the map and will need to force CLG into fights. This will be advantageous for Team Liquid and can quickly open up a significant lead for them, along with opening up the series.

Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming Victory. Counter Logic Gaming have a really strong strategy to take down Team Liquid and they’ve proven its potency against many teams already, this long with having stronger performances recently and holding the head to head; because of this I think CLG will come out on top of a close series.

Team SoloMid vs. Phoenix1 NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 2 – Match #2: TSM NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team SoloMid vs. Phoenix1 NA LCS Team Logo Phoenix1

Start Time: July 23, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST

Head to head record: Team Solo Mid 1:0 Phoenix1

Phoenix1 are going to be put to the test during this series, they had a really bad start to the split but managed to take a few victories and climb out of last place. They’ll want to solidify that as the split comes to a close but with TSM on the other end of this series they’re going to be pushed to their limits. Team Solo Mid is still undefeated and will try to dominate this series.

Prediction: Team Solo Mid Victory. I think TSM will be able to come out on top of this series with confidence, I expect them to take a 2:0 like they have managed to do against so many teams already. They’re the undefeated team of the NA LCS and I don’t think that’s likely to change for a while.

Team Envy vs. Cloud 9 NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 2 – Match #3: Team Envy NA LCS Logo Team EnVy vs. Cloud9 NA LCS Team Logo LoL Cloud9

Start Time: July 23, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Head to head record: Team Envy 0:1 Cloud9

Much like the conflict between CLG and TL, a lot is on the line with this series. The first 2 games on Day 2 could shake up the ladder for the NA LCS a significant amount so both teams will be aiming for those wins and those higher positions. Team Envy was able to confidently take down Apex recently which is better than what Cloud9 can say as they’ve been performing fairly inconsistently recently.

I’d give the advantage to Team Envy here, they’ve been performing slightly more consistently recently and have been the more confident of the 2 teams. They’re in a higher position on the ladder and certainly won’t be willing to drop their position to any of the teams that want to contest it.

Team EnVy NA LCS Team Logo LoLTeam Envy are likely to pick a few comfort champions during this series, they’ll need to evaluate Cloud9 because their head to head was many weeks ago. These little tests will happen with skirmishes in the earlier stages of the game using champions such as Shen or Gnar in the top lane; this will be paired with an Elise or Olaf in the jungle; both of which can apply a significant amount of pressure. The middle lane of Team Envy has found comfort on Cassiopeia and Viktor recently but I’d like to see him pick up and utilize Malzahar. Team Envy’s duo lane has regularly used Sivir and paired it with a Braum or Trundle which I would like to see more of. Once they’re ready and on the rift they’re going to want to set up some defensive vision around the middle lane and throughout the river, they’ll need to keep an eye on the jungler of C9 whilst also trying to apply some pressure to the top and middle lanes. They should try and get a few aggressive wards into the jungle of C9 so they can track rotations and movements easily whilst also setting up some freedom in the top lane. During the earlier stages of the game they’re going to want to play patiently and work around a few skirmishes, this could set them up nicely as they head into the middle stages of the game and start team fighting. Team fighting won’t be easy for them and they’ll need to whittle at their opponents to try and gain a small advantage beforehand but it could quite quickly set them up to start sieging; they’ll need to constantly work on updating an extensive line of vision to stay safe but they could quickly create advantages to push through to the base of C9 and open up the series.

Cloud9 NA LCS Team Logo LoLCloud9 will need to get an aggressive jungle champion that can work extensively in the earlier stages of the game; they’ll want to set their solo lanes ahead so the rest of the game unfolds for them and becomes much easier. To do this they’ll likely draft for an Elise or Gragas in the jungle and use them in the earlier stages of the game to propel ahead their middle laner who’s like to make an appearance on Cassiopeia or Azir, both of which can be contest picks during this series. The top lane of Cloud9 is likely to pick up a Trundle or Shen to impact those team fights and attempt minor split pushing. Cloud9’s duo lane has shown a lot of diversity but has often used Ashe or Sivir, I think they’ll want to take away the Sivir option from Team Envy and pair it with the likes of a Braum or Karma for potency in lane. Once they’re loaded and on the rift they’re going to want to use their lane strengths and apply pressure to their middle lane with help from their jungler. With a defensive line of vision through the river with some aggressive wards on the bottom side of the map they’ll be able to create skirmishes in the earlier stages of the game and get ahead in tempo, this will help them create more sporadic fights and take objectives. It’ll be a fairly snowball style and could quickly work in the favour of Cloud9 but if it doesn’t they’ll always have great scaling for the later stages of the game. They’re going to want to try and find situations in the middle and earlier stages of the game to catch out their opponents close to objectives, structures or open spaces where they can quickly push for a bigger advantage; this will open up the Team Envy base for them and could quite easily lead them to victory.

Prediction: Cloud9 Victory. I think Team Envy are in a good position to contest this series but with how inconsistent they’ve been recently they could be taken down by the Cloud9 that have been working their way through improvements and have been giving hard times to every team they’ve encountered. I expect a close series but C9 to come out on top at the end.

Apex Gaming vs. Immortals NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 2 – Match #4: Apex Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoL Apex Gaming vs. Team Immortals NA LCS Team Logo LoL Immortals

Start Time: July 23, 03:00 PM PDT / 06:00 PM EDT / 00:00 CEST

Head to head record: Apex Gaming 0:1 Immortals

Immortals are still pumping out fantastic performances and are adapting well from patch to patch, they’re constantly showing new strength on new champions and it’ll be hard for Apex to adapt to. Apex have looked fairly promising recently and are looking to try and show their true potential but it will come as a challenge against the #2 NA LCS team.

Prediction: Immortals Victory. I’d like to see Apex put up a really good fight and maybe even take a game away during the series but I think Immortals will come out on top at the end because of their consistency, performances throughout the split and the fact that even the top team have a hard time taking them down.

NA LCS Summer Split Week 8 – Day 1:

Heading into week 8 a lot is on the line for a few of these teams, for example; Cloud9 and Team Liquid are both sitting tied for a position on the ladder and this week, along with the next, could make or break their current position. Every conflict in these coming weeks is important as we close in on the summer playoffs. On Day 1 we will be covering both Immortals vs. NRG Esports along with Echo Fox vs. Team Apex! Make sure you catch the games as they go live starting from Friday, July 22nd!

Immortals vs. NRG Esports NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 1 – Match #1: Team Immortals NA LCS Team Logo LoL Immortals vs. NRG Esports NA LCS Team Logo NRG Esports

Start Time: July 22, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST next day

Head to head record: Immortals 1:0 NRG Esports

Immortals are sitting in an extremely comfortable position on the ladder and will be heading into the playoffs confidently, they’re still in a position to shake things up though and it could reflect badly on them. They’ve only lost a single series so far, against the top standing team, and will be looking to solidify their position whereas NRG will be looking for a win to claw their way just slightly further ahead.

Immortals are definitely at an advantage here; they hold the head to head and have shown consistently strong performances across the split whereas NRG have looked extremely rough fairly often. This will give them multiple advantages when coming into the series and gets them a step up on their opponent for both macro management and micro skill.

Immortals NA LCS Team Logo LoLImmortals should stick to their comfort picks, it’s worked for them extremely well so far and there’s no need to stray from what’s been successful. Immortals are likely to pick up a Karma support, falling back onto Soraka or maybe Nami if it’s not open, and pairing it with a Sivir or Ashe. Their jungler is likely to be a Reksai or Gragas; it’s their jungle player’s strongest and most comfortable champions. The top lane is going to want to have some level of independence, a champion with potential to bully such as Gnar or even Illaoi will be able to exude phenomenal amounts of pressure if they get ahead. The middle lane during this series is going to be one of the most important, I’d like to see Immortals pick up more Malzahar as it’s had some fantastic performances and is able to wave clear along with controlling team fights. When they’ve loaded into the game they’re going to want to try and get an early aggressive line of vision, this will let them pressure the top side of the map during the earlier stages of the game. With how well their top laner can work independently, thriving under small amounts of pressure, they’re going to want to throw some of their early jungle pressure to their top laner to open up room for him to begin pressuring. As for their middle laner, they should be able to play fairly safely until the middle stages of the game; this is where he will thrive as team fights start breaking out and he can open up sieges whilst controlling fights. To gain a lead Immortals are going to want to try and gain a tempo advantage in the earlier stages of the game, this will be assisted by their top laner who will be able to throw out a lot of pressure after they get ahead and throw the balance of the map in their favour. This will lead to easier singeing and will open up opportunities for them to say advantageous fights; opening up the game for them and leading them into the series with confidence.

NRG Esports NA LCS Team Logo LoLNRG Esports have been working well recently, they ran into some trouble around the earlier and middle stages of the split however they’ve been slowly climbing their way into a more comfortable position. With a confident composition they could give Immortals a lot of trouble so I expect the Karma support to be a contested pick, falling back onto Braum support if it’s not available. This will be paired with a Lucian or Ashe however I’d like to see them work twitch into more compositions. This kind of potent lane can be put into an extremely dominating position if assisted by a jungle champion that can get a lot of early game pressure out, for NRG that’s likely to be an Elise or a contested Reksai pick. The top lane of NRG has picked up Maokai often, it’s been a safe and reliable pick for them and can work well in many compositions, and it’s a safe call to fall back onto it if possible. Last but not least will be their high impact middle laner; this is likely to be a Viktor or Ryze. Both of those champions are able to heavily impact team fights which Is exactly what NRG will need. When they’re on the rift I think NRG should set up early defensive vision on the bottom side of the map and have some neutral or aggressive vision on their top side of the map. This will keep them in a safe position across the map, the vision in the top lane will notify them of incoming strikes and the defensive vision on the bottom side of the map will keep them fairly safe and notified. NRG are going to want to play patiently and wait for their opponents to reach too far, this will let them capitalise on any bad positioning and come out on top of skirmishes or fights. NRG could take a few skirmishes in the earlier stages of the game which will open up earlier objectives or sieging; this translates to good tempo and a faster pace than their opponents can keep up with. NRG should be able to open up the game doing this and push for a lead in the series.

Prediction: Immortals Victory. I believe that NRG will put up an alright fight but Immortals have proven to be a significant stronger team. They’ve got the head to head and are consistent, experienced at playing from all positions in the game; even when they fall behind. This is why I think they’ll come out on top of the series fairly confidently.

Echo Fox vs. Apex Gaming NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 8

Week 8 | Day 1 – Match #2: Echo Fox NA LCS Team Logo LoL Echo Fox vs. Apex Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoL Apex Gaming

Start Time: July 22, 06:00 PM PDT/ 09:00 PM EDT/ 03:00 CEST next day

Head to head record: Echo Fox 0:1 Apex Gaming

Echo Fox are currently bottom of the standings, they’re in a lot of trouble as the summer split is coming to a close and there’s not much they can do to change this. However they can go down throwing punches and this is exactly what I’ll be expecting from them. Apex Gaming has been working their way up and has been performing quite well although they’ve not been able to push forward. They’re in a fairly stable position and will be looking to keep it that way.

I’d give Apex the advantage during this series, they’ve had a more reliable style of play throughout the split and it’s given them a stronger position on the ladder. This is also due to the fact that they’ve shown a better use of objectives and tempo which will be shown during this series.

Echo Fox NA LCS Team Logo LoLEcho Fox should fall back onto their most comfortable champions, they’ve not been able to thrive during the split and it’s a bit late for them to start gaining victories to push forward. I’ll be looking for a Braum support as it’s been a common occurrence for them; this is likely to be paired with a Lucian or Ashe. The middle lane of Echo Fox will likely show up with a Viktor in the series, Malzahar will be a fairly strong fall-back option. This will be assisted by an Elise or Gragas in the jungle who will also be assisting the Irelia or Gnar in the top lane. When they’ve loaded into the rift they’re going to want to set up a fairly defensive line of vision, close to the lanes and across the river. This will keep them relatively safe during the earlier stages of the game. They’re going to want to try and equalise the top lane so applying pressuring during the earlier stages of the game with their jungler could help them set up for a 1-3-1 siege style. This is a strong way to slowly take control of a game and is likely Echo Fox’s best bet at taking away this series. Seeing as their team fighting has been lacking this split I’d like to see them draft heavily into wave clear with a split pushing top laner; this can be achieved with some of their comfortable champion picks and is likely to start kicking in around the middle stages of the game. They’re going to want to apply pressure to multiple points in the map to gain extra control over objectives; this could give them advantages in team fights or skirmishes which will translate into possible sieges and opening up the game for them, along with the series.

Apex Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoLApex Gaming have ran into quite a bit of trouble recently but this is one of their final matches to bring their standings up, I think they should fall onto a few of their more aggressive picks to gain early advantages. Their champion picks such as Jarvan or Irelia in the top lane assisted by an Elise in the jungle. Their middle lane will also be assisted quite a lot, likely to be locked in as a Viktor or Cassiopeia; both of these have phenomenal wave clear and can stall out games to the later stages. The bottom lane of Apex is likely to pick up Karma support, falling back onto Braum if it’s not available, and pairing it with a Caitlyn or Jhin. Once they’re locked in and ready I think they should set up an adaptable line of vision, aggressive wards on the top side of the map will let them pressure it during the earlier stages of the game to try and gain a small advantage. This advantage will give them the upper hand when they start picking off skirmishes, where they should have an advantage. Apex have proven to have a more stable style of shot calling, this will come in handy when the middle and later stages of the game rolls around. It will let them safely choose when to engage fights, disengage bad situations and also work around their opponents to avoid trouble around objectives. Apex could gain a lead in the earlier stages of the game and walk their way to victory with their superior map control; this would require a significant amount of rotations with adept vision control. It could be fairly slow paced but it would set Apex ahead, giving them the win and giving them a comfortable lead in the series.

Prediction: Apex Gaming Victory. Apex have proven to be the more reliable team during this split, they’ve had a few bad series’ but their overall recent performances, including losses, has been better than that of Echo Fox throughout the entire split. Because of this I think Apex are going to take away another series.
