Preview and Predictions:

NA LCS Summer Split Week 4 – Day 3:

This week has been phenomenal regarding the quality of games played so far and it’s only going to continue into day 3! For day 3 we’ll be focusing on 2 of the 4 games with the remaining games being concluded and predicted in their own smaller sections! The 2 focus games will be Team Solo Mid vs. Team Envy and Apex Gaming vs. Echo Fox. I think they’re going to be the most exciting games of the day so make sure you catch them live on both live stream, they’ll kick off on Sunday, June 26th.

Week 4 | Day 3 – Match #1: Cloud9 NA LCS Team Logo LoL Cloud9 vs. NRG Esports NA LCS Team Logo NRG Esports

Start Time: June 26, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Cloud9 came out on top of their series against Team Envy, which was a fantastic win for them, so I’m sure they’re feeling confident when coming into this series but NRG Esports, after some long and rigorous games on day 2, are well experienced and have proven to be able to perform during the later stages of the game which could give Cloud9 a bit of trouble. Cloud9 might want to bring some early pressure to give them some breathing room.

Prediction: Cloud9 Victory. I think Cloud9 will come out on top of the series fairly convincingly but with how well NRG have been adapting they might be able to contest and take a game away but it won’t stop C9 stepping forward.

Phoenix1 vs Counter Logic Gaming NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 3 – Match #2: Phoenix1 NA LCS Team Logo Phoenix1 vs. CLG NA LCS Team Logo LoL Counter Logic Gaming

Start Time: June 26, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST

Phoenix1 took part in some phenomenal games during day 2 but they were unable to come out on top of their series against NRG and remain as the only team in the NA LCS to not take a single series. This is bad news for them as they’re going against the ever improving Counter Logic Gaming who was recently able to have a fantastic impact against Immortals; although they didn’t come out on top of the series they looked more reliable and had shown great strengths.

Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming Victory. I don’t think it’s going to come too easily to them, Phoenix1 will put up one hell of a fight and if they can stall the game out to the later stages they might be able to take a game away however I think Counter Logic Gaming will come out on top of this series with a few decisive victories.

Team Envy vs Team SoloMid NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 3 – Match #3: Team Envy NA LCS Logo Team EnVy vs. TSM NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team SoloMid

Start Time: June 26, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Team Envy took a rough hit after their loss to Cloud9 on day 2 but they look quite confident and strong right until the end regardless of not being able to take a game during the series, they’re going to need that same confidence and strength here when facing off against the NA LCS 1st place titans, Team Solo Mid. TSM looked a bit rough during their day 2 performance and often struggled to get ahead or pressure with a lead, they’ll need to be more decisive to take down NV here.

Team Solo Mid look to be at quite a clear advantage but their performances during day 2 is worrying. They were unable to easily take down a team that is significantly below them on the ladder and they actually struggled at times, this could give Team Envy exactly what they need throughout their series to push hard and come out on top.

Team EnVy NA LCS Team Logo LoLTeam Envy have a regularly bottom lane which they’ve shown a significant preference for; we’re likely to see a Lucian paired with a Braum in the bottom lane similar to what we’ve seen in their most recent games. Their top lane has shown great diversity in champion picks but I think a Trundle will be their safest option, falling back onto Swain if they’re feeling confident. The middle lane of NV has regularly picked up Karma recently and has even surprised with an Ezreal pick however I think they should try and implement an Anivia or Vladimir soon. Their jungler has had his strongest performances on Elise so I’d like to see that picked more regularly by them and falling back onto Reksai if it’s unavailable. When they’re on the rift they’re going to want to get a safe line of vision as to not fall behind during the earlier stages of the game. A line of vision across the river, around choke points and close to the lanes should get them through the earlier stages fairly comfortably and will give them the information they need to pick favourable skirmishes or to avoid fights if they’re choosing to play the patience game. If they can patiently wait for their opponents to make aggressive decision Team Envy will be able to evaluate their best options and capitalise on it. Waiting for the right time to strike can give NV a short term advantage but it’d be enough to gain control of areas of the map and will open up objectives for them. Their favoured champions are fairly strong during the earlier stages of the game so if they’re feeling confident they can always work towards skirmishes to gain those short term leads; if they’re able to pick a fights in the earlier stages of the game whilst using their vision to find advantageous positions they should be able to come out on top, giving them a huge spike in gold and map control which will essentially open up a victory for them along with the series.

Logo of LCS NA Team TSMTeam Solo Mid are the current NA LCS top team and have been rarely losing games, they’re yet to lose a single series but after their day 2 performance they could be descending. For the top lane they’ve shown a preference for either Irelia or Swain, I expect both of these champions to show up throughout this series along with assistance from a Reksai or Gragas in the jungle. Their middle laner has a 100% pick rate for Azir in their most recent games so seeing more of that wouldn’t be surprising at all. The bottom lane of Team Solo Mid has picked Lucian in pretty much every game so far this split so I expect it to make more appearances whilst being paired with a Karma or Nami. When they’re on the rift they’re going to want to play the map and only take those early skirmishes if they can enter them with an advantage. They’re going to want to keep vision close to objectives so when they take these skirmishes they can capitalise quickly and efficiently. They’ll want to focus some of their early wards around their middle of the map and extend defensive wards on the bottom side of the map; pushing their vision on the top side of map into the opponent’s jungle if possible to help them keep their vulnerable lanes safe. They have great potential to skirmish or pick off their opponents so they can adapt to whatever is thrown at them. If the skirmishes are taken in the earlier stages of the game they could find themselves with a short term gold lead, they should push this lead into vision advantages so they can manipulate their opponent’s movements and control portions of the map. They’re going to want to deny as much vision as possible around the objectives as often as possible so they can use their composition to its full potential. If TSM can take those skirmishes, control objectives and rotate around the map they should be able to take the game, this will give them the opportunity to come out on top of this series and remain undefeated.

Prediction: Team Solo Mid Victory. Team Envy weren’t able to come out on top of Cloud9, what’s even worse is although they looked quite strong they were unable to take a single game during the series. This is bad news for them when they want to take down the undefeated Team Solo Mid who have look strong, consistent and adaptable. I’ll be looking for a 2:1 victory for TSM because I think Team Envy will come into this day with plans in place.

Apex Gaming vs Echo Fox NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 3 – Match #4: Apex Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoL Apex Gaming vs. Echo Fox NA LCS Team Logo LoL Echo Fox

Start Time: June 26, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST

Apex took an unfortunate loss on Week 4 Day 1 when they dropped their series in the 3rd game to Team Liquid however they were able to put up one hell of a fight whilst being able to show consistency, adaptability and their reliability. Echo Fox looked fantastic on day 2 during their series against Team Solo Mid when they were able to pressure them significantly and push them to a game 3, if this same Echo Fox shows up on day 3 then Apex are going to be in trouble.

I think Echo Fox are at an advantage here, they’ve had an extremely rough start to the split but they’re finally finding their groove and after their series against Team Solo Mid I believe they’ll be able to contest more series and this split starts to close out.

Apex Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoLApex have shown comfort on a regular jungle pick which is Reksai and I expect it to make more appearances as it’s currently a fairly strong a reliable pick and can adapt nicely to the team. This will be paired nicely with a Swain or Jarvan in the top lane which have been their most often appearances for their top laner. The middle lane of Apex is going to contest Cassiopeia in the middle lane as they’ve also shown great ability on that champion and it’s a great denial pick away from Echo Fox, if it’s unavailable then I think Zilean could make another appearance. The bottom lane of Apex had regular champion picks recently but Apex have been switching things up, I’d like to see their Sivir and Alistar combination in the bottom lane once again however I think we could be seeing more Ezreal or Jhin from them, paired with a Karma or Braum. During the match should focus on evaluating their opponents movements and decide where they’d like to focus on the map, I think they should hold a top lane focus to help the survivability and impact of that lane. Their composition has great team fighting potential so they’re going to want to start taking fights around the middle stages of the game before their opponents are able to adapt properly, if they’re unable to find the fights then they might want to extend their vision and attempt to pick off their opponents during rotations; both of these things will give them the opportunity they need to push or gain control of objectives. Picking off opponents or taking strong team fight engages is a fairly common strategy but it’s the most likely strategy to come out on top in the middle and later stages of the game for Apex, it could propel them ahead and give them the advantages they need to quite confidently take a game away and have strong showings during the remaining games of the series.

Echo Fox NA LCS Team Logo LoLEcho Fox have shown a love for Cassiopeia in the middle lane so I think they’ll try and take it as a priority pick, if it’s unavailable then we could be seeing some Anivia or Viktor in the middle lane from them. Their jungler has often switched between 2 champions so we’re likely to see some more Reksai and Olaf showing up in their jungle and assisting their top lane; their top lane has shown a bit more diversity but I think we’ll be seeing more Irelia and Jax there. The bottom lane of Echo Fox has picked Jhin quite often as well as a Karma or Zyra support and I expect to see those oppressive lanes show up more often for them. When they’re ready and on the rift they’re going to want to try and pump out some aggression during the earlier stages of the game, this means setting up a strong line of vision across the river whilst trying to get a few scattered close to or in their opponents jungle. This will give them all of the information they need to take early skirmishes or to rotate around the map to pressure and push lanes. A bit of aggression can go a long way for Echo Fox, they’d shown on Day 2 against Team Solo Mid that they can fight extremely efficiently so during the middle and later stages of the game they’re going to want to try and find those fights. If they can gain vision control around objectives they should be able to pick a few advantageous fights and then proceed to take the objectives for a lead, this will set them up nicely to get ahead during the match and will open up their chances at contesting the series.

Prediction: Echo Fox Victory. I believe Echo Fox will be able to come out on top of this series, they’ve been able to show up with extremely strong performances on Day 2 and have made confident decisions which kept them on par with the current best team in the NA LCS. Because of this I think they’ll be able to come out on top of this series 2:1.

NA LCS Summer Split Week 4 – Day 2:

After an exciting few days of the EU LCS and the beginning of the NA LCS already having kicked off we’re heading into day 2! Both games during the NA LCS day 1 brought a lot of excitement and I can only expect more from the games on day 2! During day 2 we will be focusing on 2 of the series’ with the remainders being concluded in their own shorter sections; our focus matches will be Cloud9 vs. Team Envy along with NRG Esports vs. Phoenix1! Make sure you catch the games on both live streams on Saturday, June 25th!

Cloud9 vs Team Envy NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 2 – Match #1: Cloud9 NA LCS Team Logo LoL Cloud9 vs. Team Envy NA LCS Logo Team EnVy

Start Time: June 25, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Cloud9 have been on a bit of a climb, only losing 2 series’, and they’re looking like good competitors this split. In comparison to previous splits where they had a rough start they’re now looking like a much more competitive and well-rounded team. They’ve improved their consistency significantly but will it be enough to take down a current top contending team? Team Envy have put on some significant performances and have only lost a single series so far so they’re looking like a team to beat and Cloud9 will be bringing their best to try and take them down.

Team Envy look to be at a minor advantage here. I’d say it’s only minor because although they’ve been able to take their series’ victories a few of them were extreme struggles for them. Cloud9 are only just below them on the ladder and have had a few of the same issues but this means they’re fairly close in skill level and could contest this series.

Cloud9 NA LCS Team Logo LoLCloud9 will look to take Reksai or Kindred in the jungle, they’ve picked it regularly and both of those champions can impact the earlier stages of the games as well as bringing strong utility in the later stages. This will be partnered with a Shen or Trundle in the top lane however I’d like to see them utilize Gnar. The middle lane of Cloud9 has picked a wide variety of champions already, from assassins to control mages, so pinpointing his preferred picks is difficult but I’d expect to see some more Viktor or even Twisted Fate. The duo lane of Cloud9 has shown a preference for Braum as their support so I wouldn’t be surprised if it shows up again, it works extremely well with a large variety of Marksmen but I think they’ll take either Ashe or Jhin. When they’re all set and on the rift I think they should set up a line of vision that will be slightly more defensive than usual, this means they’ll be able to safely make decision in the earlier stages of the game such as rotations through their own lanes or even some early lane pressure; doing this will also keep them safe for their later scaling champions to hit power spikes. If they were to take a few skirmishes in the early or middle stages of the game, based around their jungler, they should be able to test their opponents and possibly come out on top with a lead. For them to come to a large lead they’re going to want to play patiently and try and push a more macro management style of play, catching out their opponents might yield them small advantages or leads but controlling areas of the map will be extremely important during this series. With a lead they’ll be able to expand their vision and make more macro style decision, working around their opponents and the information they have. If they do take things slowly I think they’ll be able to find a few advantageous fights which will hand them even more advantages down the road, giving them huge favour and setting them up to threaten the series.

Team EnVy NA LCS Team Logo LoLTeam Envy has shown more diversity across their players and lanes than a lot of other champions and during a series this can be significant. If their opponents are unable to adapt to their preferred champions they’ll be at a minor advantage. Their only regular picks have been an Elise in the jungle which I expect to see more of as it’s been a flavoured champion, preferred by a lot of teams, and Ezreal or Lucian as a marksman in the bottom lane which I expect to be paired with a Zyra, Karma or even Braum. The middle lane of Team Envy has shown a possible Karma flex-pick but I’d like to see more Anivia or Lissandra from them as the team fighting potential from those champions is phenomenal, as is their ability to pick off their opponents. The top lane has also shown the ability to flex-pick so a Lissandra in champion select could throw off their opponents; I’d be expecting a Trundle or maybe even another Rumble appearance. When they’re locked in and ready they’re going to want to set up a default line of vision throughout the river, keeping their lanes safe but also giving them the information they’ll need if they decided to turn on the aggression. This will give them opportunities to take favourable skirmishes, work around their opponents and create contested areas on the map. They’re likely to play the earlier stages of this game fairly passively; scaling looks to be extremely important for their favoured champions and it’d give them a good chance at taking team fight wins in the later stages of the game. Team Envy are going to want to try and contest early skirmishes but if they’re no looking favourable then playing patiently will keep their chances alive; finding fights around objectives or picking off their opponents with superior vision is a reliable way for them to gain a lead and pressure the game. Finding those early favourable skirmishes or picking off their opponents can be fairly difficult but I think Team Envy will be able to pull it off and this is how I think they could take away a victory and possibly the series.

Prediction: Cloud 9 Victory. Cloud9 look a bit rough when they fall behind but they’ve recently shown that when they’re able to take that earlier lead they can run away with a game in an extremely dominating fashion. I don’t think it’s going to be easy for them at all but I think Cloud9 are in a good position to take this series 2:1.

Immortals vs Team Liquid NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 2 – Match #2: Team Immortals NA LCS Team Logo LoL Immortals vs. Team Liquid NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team Liquid

Start Time: June 25, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST

Immortals had a harder time on day 1 than I had expected but they still managed to put on some respectable and rather strong performances. This could mean trouble for Team Liquid as they’re already stuck around the middle of the ladder and going against a top standing team is never easy. Team Liquid have a team full of talent and the potential to come out on top, much like CLG during the 1st match of their series on day 1, but if they’re unable to utilize it due to the pressure from Immortals then they should be afraid.

Prediction: Immortals Victory. Immortals may have looked a bit shaky on day 1 but that was against a veteran team that has always been able to make huge improvements in short periods of time. Team Liquid might be a veteran team but they’ve got a history of struggling and I don’t expect that to change just for this series. I think IMT will come out on top with a 2:0.

Team SoloMid vs Echo Fox NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 2 – Match #3: TSM NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team SoloMid vs. Echo Fox NA LCS Team Logo LoL Echo Fox

Start Time: June 25, 12:00 PM PDT/ 03:00 PM EDT/ 21:00 CEST

Team Solo Mid is the current kings of the NA LCS, being undefeated and taking the position at the top of the ladder. The majority of their performances have been phenomenal and fairly dominating, even when they were challenged they’ve managed to come out on top. This is fairly opposite for Echo Fox who only have a single victory. They’re going to need to pull out all the stops and use everything they have to contest this series.

Prediction: Team Solo Mid Victory. I think they’re in a good position to show some dominance, taking a fairly clean 2:0 series. Team Solo Mid has proven already that they’re the top team and I think this series will just further cement that.

NRG eSports vs Phoenix1 NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 2 – Match #4: NRG Esports NA LCS Team Logo NRG Esports vs. Phoenix1 NA LCS Team Logo Phoenix1

Start Time: June 25, 03:00 PM PDT/ 06:00 PM EDT/ 00:00 CEST

NRG Esports have had a rough time, going against quite a few of the stronger teams recently, but now they’re going against Phoenix1 who are at the bottom of the standings without a single victory under their belt. This is their chance to cement their position and start a climb forward but Phoenix1 have shown potential previously and could show up strong here.

NRG Esports appear to be at a minor advantage here but neither of the 2 performing teams has looked very strong. Phoenix1 haven’t been able to impact much at all so far this split, aside from a few stray single game wins, so this is their best chance to take a step forward and it’s something the really need right now.

NRG Esports NA LCS Team Logo LoLNRG Esports has shown a preference for Anivia in the middle lane and with how much potential that champion has I’d like to see it utilized once again. This will be assisted by a Nidalee or Elise in the jungle; their jungler will also bring some pressure to the top lane, which is likely to be a Jax or Vladimir which has great potential to scale for the later stages of the game. The bottom lane of NRG Esports have shown a slight preference for Braum as their support so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it again; It’d be able to impact the game in a significant way if paired with a champion such as Caitlyn or even Twitch once again. When they’re set up and ready they should focus on getting a strong line of vision to open up their options to go aggressive and catch out their opponents, getting some wards close to their opponents jungle will give them exactly what they need. Having the option to skirmish opens up the possibilities for them taking an early advantage, this could propel them ahead to taking a game with a storming victory. They’re going to want to utilize this in the earlier stages and try and pick up a few kills through jungle pressure or skirmishing but if they’re unable to hold a fairly aggressive line of vision then they’ll need to play more patiently and around the vision they can acquire. If they take an early lead through skirmishing they should be able to pressure objectives without much contention, putting them in a great position to start sieging and team fighting. For NRG to take this series they should look to take advantage of vision, it could propel them ahead fairly quickly if they can find advantageous skirmishes and it will give them control of large portions of the map. This will open up the series for them and give them the confidence to push forward.

Phoenix1 NA LCS Team LogoPhoenix1 have been having a hard time against every team they’ve faced so far and things will not get easier for them at any point. They should try and stick to the champions they’re most comfortable on so they can play patiently to try and gain a lead. I’ll be looking for them to take a Kindred or Elise in the jungle and using it to pressure the bottom lane, which is likely to be an Ezreal or Lucian paired with a Zyra or even a Bard. Their middle lane has shown great comfort on Lissandra already and I’d like to see them pick it up during this series because it has great team fight potential as well as the ability to pick off and lock down their opponents. Last but not least is their top lane; this is extremely likely to be a comfortable tank champion for them so a Shen or Trundle is what I expect. After they’ve locked in and prepared themselves they should set up a nice defensive line of vision to avoid any possible early pressure from their opponents. They’re going to want to focus on getting their top lane ahead or play things through patiently and wait for scaling, opening up opportunities for them to take later game team fights. If they use their defensive line of vision correctly they might not be able to find opponents to pick off for a lead in the earlier stages of the game but they’ll be able to avoid giving up a lead. If their opponents choose to not take the early skirmishes then P1 should walk away unless they’re confident they’re in an advantageous position. Phoenix1 are in an extremely difficult situation here, a loss for them would pretty much end their chances at making any sort of impact this split but taking the victory won’t be a huge step forward either. I think they have the potential to take the series and their first victory of the split but they’re going to be tested regularly.

Prediction: NRG Esports Victory. Phoenix1 have been able to take a few single games from some of the teams in the middle of the ladder and this series will be their chance to make an impact but I think NRG Esports have had the stronger performances out of these 2 teams and I think the difference between these 2 teams will become apparent here. I’ll be looking for an NRG Esports 2:1 victory.

NA LCS Summer Split Week 4 – Day 1:

The NA LCS will be kicking off week 4 with some extremely exciting games, Counter Logic Gaming will be facing off against the extremely promising Immortals and Team Liquid will be facing off against a team they’re known to being close to, Apex Gaming. We’ll be covering both of these games in detail so make sure you read closely and catch the games when they go live on Friday, June 24th!

Counter Logic Gaming vs Immortals NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 1 – Match #1: CLG NA LCS Team Logo LoL Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Immortals NA LCS Team Logo LoL Immortals

Start Time: June 24, 05:00 PM PDT/ 08:00 PM EDT/ 02:00 CET next day

Counter Logic Gaming are in a weaker position than I’d initially anticipated at the start of the split but they’ve certainly been improving and are looking to take an ‘above average’ position on the ladder. This series will come as a challenge to them as Immortals have only lost a single series and that was to the current top standing team in the North American LCS.

Immortals look to be at quite a clear advantage here, they’re difficult to adapt to because they’ve shown a wide variety of champion picks and play styles. Their individual player skill levels are world class and they’ve been a challenge for every competing team in the NA LCS whereas Counter Logic Gaming has been struggling.

Logo of LCS NA Team CLGCounter Logic Gaming should focus on trying to get their comfort champions, this means trying to snag that Kindred in the jungle and pairing it with an Irelia, Jax or Trundle in the top lane. Their middle lane should try and get a hold of Zilean or Ryze as both have great scaling and potential team fighting impact throughout many stages of the game. The duo lane of Counter Logic Gaming has picked a wide variety of champions however I’d like to see them pick up Bard more often and pairing it with the likes of an Ashe or Caitlyn. When they’re ready and on the rift they’re going to want to set up a slightly defensive line of vision, having wards scattered across the river with wards close to their own jungle. This will help them avoid any unwanted conflicts in the earlier stages of the game. They should focus on stabilising their top lane and trying to get him ahead, the scaling champions in the top lane will thrive and create chaos for their opponents if they can gain a lead or even a minor amount of pressure in that lane. Counter Logic Gaming have often been able to adapt and utilize a split pushing style which I think they thrive with, if they get ahead at all and utilize this style then objectives will become quite clear and open for them. This will set them up nicely for the later stages of the game where their opponents are forced to make split second decision, making mistakes more common. They should be able to capitalise on this and propel themselves ahead, sieging more easily and taking fights they’re comfortable with. I think they should utilize this style as often as possible and if they can pull it off they’ll be able to give Immortals an extremely hard time during this series.

Immortals NA LCS Team Logo LoLImmortals have regularly picked a wide variety of champions, with very few being picked in consecutive games. This means they’re extremely difficult to adapt to and can more easily adapt to their opponents. Their most common pick has been Irelia in the top lane, if unavailable it can easily be covered by a Rumble or Lissandra. The jungle or Immortals, who’s had significant impact in the earlier stages of the game, is likely to pick Olaf or Nidalee to push the lanes of Immortals ahead of their opponents. Their duo lane should try and get a hold of Ezreal or Sivir in the bottom lane and pair it with a Zyra or Karma. Last but certainly not least is their middle lane, their most common middle lane champion is Viktor which I think will appear once again but I think we could also see some Anivia or Azir from them. When they’re ready and on the rift I think it’ll be in their best interest to set up an aggressive line of vision, their jungler should be able to invade their opponent’s jungle in the earlier stages of the game and set up some reliable vision there which will help dictate the rest of the game. An early focus on pressuring the top lane will give them a huge advantage and will help them shut down a win condition from Counter Logic Gaming, they’ll need to expend a lot of time and resources to try and get their top lane ahead but it’d certainly be worth it. For this to work out properly they’re going to need to be aggressive on the bottom side of the map so defensive warding down there would be necessary. They should be able to gain a lead fairly early with a few skirmishes and through pressuring the lanes with their aggressive jungler, this will give them opportunities to siege and gain more control of the map. That extra control can be used to safely take objectives or to pick some favourable fights, I think they’ll be looking for the fights and they should be able to come out on top of them if they’re confident they’ve shut down the top laner of Counter Logic Gaming. If they focus on pressuring the top lane of their opponent along with scaling in their other lanes, with aggressive vision on the top side of the map and defensive on the bottom, they should be able to gain a lead fairly safely and this can be repeated throughout the series with their many possible champion picks.

Prediction: Immortals Victory. They’re in a good position to take the series, they’re difficult to adapt to and are experienced at adapting to their opponents. This means they could be 1 step ahead right after locking in their champions. I think they’re the most likely team to take the series based off of their most recent performances and the strengths in their style of play. I’ll be looking for a 2:1 Immortals Victory.

Team Liquid vs Apex Gaming NA LCS Summer Split 2016 Week 4Week 4 | Day 1 – Match #2: Team Liquid NA LCS Team Logo LoL Team Liquid vs. Apex Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoL Apex Gaming

Start Time: June 24, 08:00 PM PDT/ 11:00 PM EDT/ 05:00 CET next day

Team Liquid is in the exact same position as Apex Gaming at the moment, both teams are sitting with a 3:3 score and are around the middle of the ladder however this is all about to change. Both teams have had a bit of trouble during their series’ matches but have clawed away victories from teams by the bottom of the ladder, having a harder time against the teams at the top. They’re in a comfortable position but 1 of these teams is going to progress after showing off their improvements.

Apex Gaming look to be at a slight advantage here, they’ve been able to take down more difficult opponents compared to Team Liquid and have looked a bit more consistent. This however can be broken down if Team Liquid is going to show up with the improvements they’ve looked to make recently. It’ll be an extremely close series in my opinion.

Team Liquid - NA LCS Team LogoTeam Liquid should try and get onto their comfort champions. This means we could be looking at an Irelia in the top lane paired with an Olaf in the jungle, falling back onto a Shen in the top lane and Reksai in the jungle if their main options can’t be utilized. The middle lane of TL has picked Vladimir fairly regularly and I expect it to show up more however Azir has had some strong performances for them and could always make more appearances. The duo lane of TL is arguably their most important; they’ve picked Sivir as their marksman quite often recently and paired it with Karma which could give them phenomenal impact during the later stages of the game. After they’ve locked and loaded in they should set up a default line of vision across the river and close to their lanes, it won’t give them access to any early information and is neither defensive nor aggressive but it will give them what is necessary to adapt. If they’re confident in their ability to team fight then they should play patiently and wait for scaling, they’ve shown great capability in team fights and a lot of their favoured champions synergize extremely well. If they’re not confident in their team fighting because of things that happen in the earlier stages of the game then their composition can adapt to a more defensive line of vision and they can focus on smaller skirmishes, picking off their opponents and controlling smaller areas of the map such as contested dragons or sieges. They should be able to gain a lead if they pick off a few opponents through skirmishes in the earlier stages of the game with their jungle pressure and they can translate this lead into favourable team fights. They’re going to want to play this series fairly slowly but coming out on top shouldn’t be too much of a problem if they’re patient.

Apex Gaming NA LCS Team Logo LoLApex Gaming has shown a significant amount of regular champions picks which I am confident will make more appearances for them, if not now then likely in the close future. We’re likely to see Jarvan make an appearance in the top lane along with a Cassiopeia in the middle lane, they’ve been picked consistently and have proven to be strong champions for Apex. These will be assisted by a Gragas or Reksai in the jungle which will be able to impact the lanes during the earlier stages of the game and give them some strong team fighting potential with the disruption in their kits. Apex’s duo lane has regularly picked either Sivir or Caitlyn as their marksmen and paired them with a tank such as Alistar or Braum, I think we’ll be seeing more of this unless they want a more oppressive lane in which Karma or Zyra support could fit nicely. When they’re running across the rift I think they should set up a slightly aggressive line of vision, placing wards near their opponent’s jungle entrances along with having them scattered across the river. Their jungler is able to heavily impact the lanes and in doing so will pressure the rest of the map, opening up opportunities for them to siege and take a lead in the earlier stages of the game. A lot of this series will be decided by how the earlier stages of the games are handled and I think Apex could take complete control of them if they focus on their skirmishing and lane pressure. They wouldn’t need to wait as long as Team Liquid for champion scaling because of how well their composition synergises and is able to manipulate areas of the map to give them a team fighting advantage. If they take advantage of these strengths they should be able to gain a lead early in skirmishes, pressure the map and take favourable team fights and set themselves up in a nice position to contest or take the series.

Prediction: Apex Gaming Victory. I think it’s going to be a fairy close series but Apex have the potential to claw ahead and take the series. They’ve already proven to be the stronger and more reliable of the two teams because they were able to take down Counter Logic Gaming previously, because of this consistency and strength I think they’ll take the series 2:1.
