TI6 Group Stage Day 3 – Predictions & Betting Tips

TI6 - The International 2016 Dota2 LogoThe International 2016 is already turning into an unique event regarding the talent shown. Just a few weeks ago we had 3 teams that were completely dominating the competitive scene: Team Liquid, Newbee and OG. But after 2 days of the TI6 Group Stage, the first two are in the last positions to qualify to the Upper Bracket. Only OG has managed to keep their dominating position, although they’re second to EG in their group.

As for today, we actually have a Wild Card team holding the best score of this stage. And in second place we got a team that no one considered between the top 10 teams going to the Internatoinal: Digital Chaos. This is the kind of things that usually hap pen in these tournaments, and that’s why they’re so entertaining. Right now we’re heading to the last day of the Group Stage and what we thought that were the best two teams are going to struggle today to qualify to the Upper Bracket.

Top Matches TI6 Group Stage Day 3  – Predictions & Betting Tips

Group Stage | Day 3: TnC Gaming Team Dota2 Logo TnC Gaming vs. Escape Gaming Team Dota 2 Logo Escape Gaming

Start Time: August 5th, 11:30 AM PDT  / 02:30 PM EDT  / 20:30 CEST

It’s not crazy to say that this is the weakest match of the entire Group Stage, but the reason we predict it here is because it can define the destiny of both TnC and Alliance. Both teams will face an extremely difficult match this day (Alliance against EG and TnC against OG), so their games against Escape Gaming will most likely define which one goes to the Upper Bracket.

TnC was completely unknown before coming to the International, and they’ve still won against TI-winning lineups like LGD. This team has certainly shown impressive performance taking into account that they are the true underdogs.

Escape Gaming on the other hand have only won one game against Na’Vi, which actually helps us understand how bad Na’Vi is performing right now. It is the weakest team, which has been showed by the results they’ve had until now. Their only reason to win this game would be to help their friends in Alliance qualify to the Upper Bracket.

Prediction: 2-0 TnC. TnC is becoming the kind of team that can win difficult matchups but lose the easiest ones. This is why this is one of the most difficult matches to predict. Nevertheless, TnC should understand how bad they need these two victories, and we believe they have the ability to make it against Escape Gaming.

Group Stage | Day 3: Team Liquid Logo Dota2 Team Liquid vs. Digital Chaos Dota 2 Team Logo Digital Chaos

Start Time: August 5th, 01:30 PM PDT  / 04:30 PM EDT  / 22:30 CEST

This match would’ve been easy to predict a few weeks ago. DC wouldn’t stand a chance against Liquid –normally-, but now that they have won 2-0 against Newbee, Liquid will certainly go to this game without knowing what to expect. This gives DC a good advantage in terms of morale, and in the fact that Liquid probably didn’t prepare against their playstyle since there were more important teams to worry about.

But Liquid hasn’t played bad in this Group Stage. In fact, they have gotten reasonable results –excepting their 0-2 loss against VG. R. The truth is that the rest of the teams in their group are doing extremely well –specifically EHOME and DC, but also MVP Phoenix and Newbee are still strong.

Prediction: 1-1. This group is without any doubt the harder of the two. This is why the best teams are still struggling to qualify to the Upper Bracket still on day 3. The high morale from DC, and the doubting from Liquid might throw them off to win only a game. We still think Liquid is superior to DC, but right now the result has a good chance of turning equal.

Group Stage | Day 3: Newbee Team Logo Dota2 Newbee vs. MVP Phoenix Team Logo Dota2 MVP Phoenix

Start Time: August 5th, 03:30 PM PDT  / 06:30 PM EDT  / 00:30 CEST (next day)

MVP Phoenix has been getting 1-1 results against all rivals. This is isn’t exactly the best performance they have shown, but they’re still close to make it to the Upper Bracket. The big problem for them is that they didn’t take more wins from weaker teams, and now they have to face the strongest teams of their group. They have a lot of pressure right now; they need to win this game 2-0 to have a fair chance of making it.

Newbee haven’t had their best performance these last days either, but at least they have only lost 2-0 against the top two of their group. They also got a 1-1 against Liquid. They did take the wins they were ought to take against weaker team, and that’s why they’re in a much better position than the Koreans. Right now they don’t have the same kind of pressure, but losing 0-2 could also be devastating, so they will come to this game with all the intentions of winning

Prediction: 1-1. Seeing that MVP Phoenix does work well under pressure, they will probably take at least one win here. Newbee will also want to win at least one game here to ensure they will make it to the Upper Bracket. Both teams will come to the intention of winning, and they both have the tools, so a draw is probable.

Group Stage | Day 3: Digital Chaos Dota 2 Team Logo Digital Chaos vs. EHOME Team Logo Dota 2 EHOME

Start Time: August 5th, 03:30 PM PDT  / 06:30 PM EDT  / 00:30 CEST (next day)

EHOME has won already against the best teams in their group. Newbee and MVP Phoenix were a trip to the park for them, and Liquid ended in a draw and the only loss they’ve had. Right now there’s not much EHOME has to show, as we already know they are in shape to become the International 2016 champions.

DC also won 2-0 against Newbee, which is what begins to raise questions about the Chinese. After all, it was harder for them to beat MVP Phoenix, which is considered weaker than Newbee. They are still yet to face Liquid too, so this is why we can’t say that they are playing as well as EHOME. DC has almost secured their Upper Bracket spot, but this doesn’t mean they’re equally good than EHOME. After all, the Chinese have more experienced player and more history.

Prediction: 2-0 EHOME. DC is a team formed by a combination of veterans and new players, but their team itself has only won one cup: the Canada Cup, which is more like an amateur tournament. They still have a Major winner playing in their lines, but the truth is that EHOME seems more solid and looks a lot more promising. The Chinese team is looking right now like they could win the entire tournament, while there are still a lot of doubts around DC.

You know who will win?
